The House of Sins: The Legion: Level one

Chapter 2 Sebrisha Walkens

Chapter 2 Sebrisha Walkens

Sep 23, 2025

"Almost got it," I said as I was pulling out a silver stone from the place I was mining. After the stone finally budged, I let out an exhausted breath and began examining the silver stone I mined for.

I then put the stone in my bag, activated my hover pack on my back, and slowly descended to the lower level of the mine. My name is Sebrisha Walkens, and I'm a miner from the House of Sins mining unit. I am 12 years old, and have been operating as a miner for a year now. A miner is the lowest-ranking House of Sins operator, and it's the easiest place to rank up out of all the jobs due to it literally being the first rank.

The House of Sins is a world government that operates by dealing with most civil and political threats that go on in the world, like a military basically. The more you rank up in the system, the more you get paid and the more important jobs you get, but the only way to get there is to start at square one. The basic time to rank up to the next rank is 1-2 years, but I plan to rank up in just 9 months, and this stone should help me do just that.

After 3 minutes of slow descent, I finally made it to the ground. I then immediately checked my bag on my hip to see if I had everything I came for and after I checked that, I headed to the elevator down the path.

I walked down the marked path until I made it to the lift. The lift was very old, and I won't be surprised if the whole thing collapsed one day due to its age. The lift was rusted so much that it had to be a safety violation, and it only had 3 buttons, which were up, down, and stop. I louthe want to take this old thing, but I dispise takeing the stairs, which are always filled with individuals who crowd around the stairs to socialize after work. I pushed the button that sends the elevator up, and the elevator began to activate.

Before I could even react, the lift boosted upwards out of knower, and once it made it to the top it Immediately stopped which made achieve 2 seconds of flight before falling headfirst back on the lift.

I got up from the floor while holding my head to regain my composure and then made my way out of the elevator towards the base in the cave. This place is called the Subterrestrial Mine, and this place is its base, which is a part of the House of Sins organization. My Barracks room is on the left of the main area; the main area is where all the important buildings are, like the armory, head office, registration, etc.

While I was walking to my Barracks building, I began looking around the area where I live. The apartment I live in is really a dorm room. The good thing about my situation with the dorm room is that I live alone while everyone else has to live with someone else. The reason I don't have to live with anyone else is because my last roommate touched some of my alchemy mixtures and managed to blow herself up 6 months ago. She made a slow recovery wich took about 2 weeks, once she got back to health she immediatly assighned for a different room and moved out.

I didn't like her anyway.

I walked up to my building while looking around to avoid my neighbors, as I finally made it to my barracks door, I let out a relaxed exhale as I took off my bag full of stones, it's good to be home. The dorm room I lived in was more like an alchemy lab to me than an actual living area due to me having multiple projects and experiments around the room. The kitchen part of my dorm holds my experiment table and all my mixing items and mixtures. I've made so many mixtures in my 9 months of staying here that my whole supply could level this entire building and turn it into ash. I told the owner that, and all he did was laugh.

He probably thought I was joking.

I took my bag over to the experiment table and emptied all the items I had in the bag. While taking off and hanging up my owl protection suit. Most of the items that I emptied out of my bag were rare stones that I needed for my brilliant experiment. The experiment I'm working on will instantly have me move up to the next rank and will most likely get me famous as well in alchemy.

I looked away to table from my table and looked at my self in the mirror. I looked at the Owl mask I refuse to take off to show anyone a face that no one can see... Or remember. I look at my beutiful blond hair, stainless white skin, and a pretty fit body.

Wow.... I am a narcissist because god Im beutiful.

I began scanning the stones I collected, making sure they were all what I was looking for and in tip-top condition for the experiment. I scanned them one by one for 2 minutes and was almost done with them until someone rang my doorbell to my dorm room.

Now I only need one last important item, which is the most important, the only problem is that I don't know what it actually is.

Knock Knock

"Oh my god, right when I was almost finished," I said while putting the scanner down and then making my way to the door. I opened the door to my dorm room and instantly felt annoyed because the person who was at my door was Karen, my dorm room manager. Karen had blonde hair, white skin, and okay facial features and was wearing a professional business suit along with business. She's a nice person, and she's helpful when I ask her for info and other things like that, but the reason I find her slightly annoying is because she's too touchy for me.

"Lonlee, how are you doing today?" Karen said as she reached out and gave me a hug. I let out a sigh and returned the hug. I don't like the name she gave me.

"Ms. Karen, what brings you over?" I asked while trying to break free from her gorilla-grip hug.

"Oh yeah, the reason I came over here," She said while finally releasing me and lifting her papers to get back to business.

"The reason why I came here is to remind you that you need to find a partner for the promotion event in 3 days," Ms. Karen informed as she was looking at the papers in her hand. "And knowing you, youve been to busy with that experiment to notice."

"Ok well to your suprise I've been trying to.... but people just don't want to be my partner for some reason," I said while crossing my arms.

"That's probably because you grabbed a microphone and called everybody a bunch of nobodies who will never amount to anything because someone ate all the cookies in the lunchroom. " Karen said while looking at me with her eyebrow raised. " And you did that over cold raisin fillled Cookies at that."

"Well...I didn't no that at the time and even if I did, I'd do it again to be honest, best thing that happened all week," I said with a straight face.

I spotted 5 people having 5 to 10 cookies on their tray at the start of the line and to add fuel to the fire a group of people walked right into me and made me drop my tray, with out an apology.

"Doubling down on that is why you have no friends, but I'm serious Lonlee, if you want to rank up early like you aim to, you're going to need a partner," Ms. Karen said. She then looked across my shoulder and saw my experiment table. She then let out a long sigh while also holding her hand on her face. "Please tell me you aren't still working on that experiment for the promotion ceremony," She sighed.

"I almost have it. All I need to do is put these elements in and run some more tests, and it can be complete, and even if I don't complete it within 3 days, I still have other experiments I can showcase instead," I said while pointing at one of my dressers where I hold all my experiments. Ms. Karen looked at me with a relieved look, then went back to her usual joyous look and began to take a step back.

"Alright, as long as you've got a backup plan, it's all good, but make sure you find someone to be your partner before Friday, okay?" Ms. Karen said as she began walking away from my dorm.

"I'll be getting on it right now," I said as I closed the door as soon as she was far away. After I closed the door, I walked back over to the experiment table and grabbed my scanner, put it into phone mode, and began calling coworkers from my mining group to see if anyone was free.

2 Hours Later   10:56

"How does no one want to partner up with me?" I yelled at the sky while throwing my scanner/phone across the room and managing to hit the wall. Literally, everyone who I work with said no. Even the emo kids who don't even have friends said no. I even told them about one of my experiments that can get us promoted (not the project I'm currently working on), and they still didn't work with me. I got up from my bed that I was lying down in while I was making my way to retrieve my scanner.

"You know what? Let's see if I can pay someone to be my partner," I said to myself as I picked up my scanner. I picked up the scanner and saw that due to the scanner hitting the wall, it changed its settings from the phone to the area scanner. I was going to switch back to phone mode, but a red light on the scanner grabbed my attention. I looked at the scanner closely to make sure I was seeing things correctly; the red light appeared again.

I was going to switch back to phone mode since it wasn't my problem, but then an idea hit.

If I go to this checkpoint and search out its area, I can gain a profit. Because if there are no people there, I will be able to collect their things and use them for my alchemy and experiments, and if they're alive, I would simply negotiate with them to be my partner for a day to enter me, and if they're hostile right off the bat.

I ran into my closet and quickly put on my full owl chemical suit, as I grabbed my bag full of alchemy mixtures for defense, and then I grabbed my scanner, ran out the door, locked it behind me, and ran full speed down the mine's pathway to the lower floor.

"I'll just blow them up!" I said while running down the path to the mines.

"Blow who up?" Ms. Karen yelled as she was at another worker's dorm room near where I was running.
