"So, Ichigo…I never got an answer, are ya' really from Japan?" Rosario asked, her head slowly turning blue.
"Technically yeah, born there anyway. My parents moved around a lot though, I remember more stuff from my time in Canada than my actual birthplace." Ichigo answered, her pink hair getting dirty from the sand. "Before you ask, I can't actually speak Japanese. Heck, I'm still trying to learn how to speak English right."
The two girls were hanging upside down on the monkey bars as an endurance battle, suggested by Rosario. It was really difficult trying to keep balance, composure and also their skirts from from falling all at once. In the end Ichigo won as Rosario's legs gave out, she fell head first into the sand with her black panties plain in view for anyone to see. No one except Lucia was watching the two however, so Rosario didn't mind too much.
Rosario dug her head out and brushed off the sand stuck in her hair. "Then…I'm guessing you haven't seen any anime either…"
Ichigo swung side to side with glee, happy to win the endurance test. "Anime? Those are cartoons imported from Japan, right? I think I've seen one of those!" She threw herself down, falling in a similar way as Rosario did…Her pink panties were showing. After she dug herself out she rubbed at her chin with contemplation. "Let's see…what was it called…Something about a ninja with blonde hair…"
"Gweh! Not that one…It's over hyped garbage!" Rosario cried out. "If it wasn't for the fact that my brothers had a full box set lying around, I wouldn't have touched that show with a ten foot pole!"
"Wow! You're really passionate about cartoons. I didn't think it was that bad."
A sour expressions grew on Rosario's face, she wanted to say so many things right now but instead turned her head towards Lucia. She saw the brunette no longer sitting motionlessly on the bottom of the slide, instead she's moved to climb to the top. She was looking at a mansion not far from the park.
"Lucia-Chan, are you bored? We could go somewhere else if you are!"
"Yeah! Yeah! Luc, where else do you wanna go?" She tried to see what Lucia was staring at, it was difficult from lower ground but if she focused enough she could barely make out a rather larger building at the other side of the park. "Oh…You wanna go to that black mansion?"
Lucia shrugged. "No, that place always gives me the creeps." She didn't wish to enter, she just wants someone else to get out of there. "I'm wondering if Sieglinde is alright…I hope she'll show up again on Monday." She turned her view away and slid down the slide.
Just then, as her shoes reached the ground, a loud scream could be heard. It wasn't like the joyous screams of nearby toddlers, it wasn't like the yells from the soccer team. A woman yelled loudly, then it was two, a whole chorus of wailing women could be heard from the Neapolitan mansion.
Several park attendants already made their move, running towards the sounds of distress. Lucia and Ichigo included…not Rosario though. She stood there, her legs shaking.
A crowd formed in front of the gate, an old man who stood front ringed the bell but no matter how many times it rung the thick bars wouldn't move. The screams continued, whatever could be happening while none of them could get inside? Instead of waiting and whispering, several men and women pulled out their cellphones and called the local police.
Lucia bit at her thumb, knowing the calls were useless. The local department was not actually local, Bone City and Berrymarrel shared the same department. It was built much closer to Bone City, by the time the cops arrived it would already be way too late. It sounded like people were getting slaughtered in there, maybe some wild animal got in and was currently wrecking the place. She knew the staff of the Neapolitan mansion, none of them personally, but she know they were all city dwellers who have next to no clue how to deal with wild life attacks.
Now was not the time to stand around and wait for help, she had to get inside somehow. Lin was strong, the strongest girl she knew, but Lin couldn't possibly win against a creature with swift claws and knife-like teeth.
Just what could she do…What could she- What the heck was Ichigo doing?
Lucia's strained eyes turned towards Ichigo, who had run off from the crowd. She was climbing at the fence, just about to fall right into the pointed tips that could definitely rip open someone's skin, however she managed to save herself by grabbing onto a tree branch. She used the branch like a rope and jumped into the mansion grounds.
"Ichigo?!" Lucia yelled as she ran over. "What are you- How did you-"
"Not now, Luc. Lin might be in danger! Quick, quick! Climb just like I did!"
Lucia stared up, her focus on the spiky tips. The screams continued the longer she stood there and even with Ichigo trying to encourage her, telling her she simply has to grab the branch that hung outside of the walls, she couldn't move. What finally pushed her over the edge was the top window suddenly breaking open, shards flying towards the crowd that still stood outside the gates. The top room…That was Sieglinde's room.
She climbed the pole, her pants made it easier to get up than Ichigo's skirt. Her feet grew cold as she reached the top, it was a risky jump. Before she could change her mind however, the branch broke and Lucia tumbled down to the grounds.
"Good job, Luc!" Ichigo praised. "Now hurry, before the police arrive and try to stop us!"
"Right!"…Hold on, she thought Ichigo jumped over to save Sieglinde…? Whatever. She wasn't going to waste this opportunity.
They headed over to the garden and entered the mansion through the back entrance. A screaming, elderly woman in a maid outfit immediately ran out when they meant to go in, a whole herd of younger women in uniform followed her.
Ichigo stepped in, Lucia following close. They entered a kitchen that looked like a tornado had ran through it. Nobody was inside and there weren't any signs of anyone hiding. Lucia did take notice of the freezer door hanging open, but when she took a look inside it was empty. Nothing but a quartet of bags containing frozen meats.
The girls decided to carefully explore more of the mansion. The living room had looked nearly untouched, a few pieces of cleaning equipment were leftover, likely left there by the maids who had just fled. The upstairs floors seemed perfectly fine too. Nothing broken, nothing bloodied, a bit dusty but fine.
As much as they wanted to check each and every room, they had a goal to chase. Lucia and Ichigo headed up until they stood in front of Sieglinde's room. Lucia's fingers had barely touched the handle, the door swung wide open on it's own as a gust of wind blew by.
In the middle of the room sat Sieglinde in her nightgown.
"Lucia…?"
Sieglinde wasn't the only one in the room, there was another lying on the floor. A maid whose stomach had been ripped wide open, the contents that should be inside her missing.
The two childhood friends were silent for what felt like an eternity, an eternity that was interrupted as Ichigo jumped up with joy and began to clap in the same way as when Lucia allowed Ichigo to accompany her to the park.
"He's back! He's back! It's just like auntie said!"
"What…? Who's back?"
Ichigo stared wide eyed at Sieglinde. "Hello? Isn't it obvious? Do I have to point out the giant blood message on your wall there?" She pointed at the right wall which was initially obscured by the door, Lucia took a closer look and fell to her knees with fear as she read the message written in large bold letters.
"The Wolf." Ichigo read out loud. "He even drew a little emoji of himself!"
