We step into the bathroom to huddle into one stall and vape. The smoke detectors are assholes, so that’s all we can do. It’s not the most glamorous spot but it’s all we got. We’re all juniors (Josh is a super junior) now and it’s been rough. I guess that might be why we’ve picked up these bad habits.
The world is finally a blur when you smoke yourself into a cloud. Drowning out the darkness, that always finds its way back up to the surface. I don’t know whose fault it is that my vision goes beyond what other people see. But… maybe the woman was trying to tell me something. Maybe I am in danger. She said they would find me if I didn't find her first. Do I need to find her body??
I still wonder if I should tell my friends about my, I guess, visions.
Demy is so in tune with my body language, that she knows something is up with me.
“Em? You okay?” Demy asked. “You’re never this quiet in here.”
“Um…” I started, feeling my hands sweat as even one syllable was hard to say. “Would you freak out if I told you something really freaky?”
Looking to her, she smiled. “What could possibly be so freaky, that I’d freak out?”
“Aaauuhhhh…” I questioned in a high pitched note. “Well… what if I tell you after school. In that little spot outside the building.”
Demy reluctantly agreed. We left the bathroom and went our separate ways back to our boring classes once again.
