I need an outfit, something that screams but is also attractive. I need a bold statement for both my sister and me. My brother can take care of his clothes. No one will really care about it. Well, he doesn't really care.

I need my sister's help, but she's sulking about her friend. I don't mean to be that kind of brother who talks to his sister and gets her to open up about her relationship with her friend. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to give some tough love. The Lord knows she needs it to survive in this world.

I can't believe I'm going to do this. Walking to my sister's wing. I take a deep breath and brace myself for what I'm about to do.

I bring my hand to knock on the door, but contemplate about corrupting her sweet personality. I could try to fight the battles, but then again, I don't want to do that. I love her, and she needs to toughen up. 

"Hey, sis, can I come in?" I hear moving behind the door, and something falls. Then the door opens.

A couple of minutes ago, she looked, I want to say dazzling, but I would be lying, she was presentable. I saw the worry on my mother's face when she took her in after she had arrived for dinner.

"You look like someone who's just been run over by a truck. Good grief, you're a mess."

"Thank you. Ooh, you're letting yourself in."

Walking to the giant window, which had no reason to be there, pulling the curtains to let in the light, and opening the window to let in fresh air.

"Look, Mom, is probably going to come in here and tell you how you have your life ahead of you and how you need to see the silver lining in this, whatever you're sulking about."

She closes the door and walks around to the other side of the bed and sits down.

"I just don't get it. We were friends above all. We did everything together and then..."

I know I'm going to come off as a jerk, but I have to do it.

" Look, I don't mean to be rude, but it might be rude," sighing, "you need to stop sulking, she's not doing it right now."

Walking from the window, I walk and sit beside her on the bed.

"Look, some friendships are never meant to last, but you should have standards. It's not going to be easy to get over your best friend, let's be honest, the end of any friendship is always worse than any relationship."

"I can't she is..."

"No, sister, she was past tense. You deserve better than what people are showing you.  You seem like a pushover, people are just walking over you. It needs to stop. Take up arms or swords. You deserve the world."

"How am I supposed to do that?"

"By matching energy for energy, she treated you like dirt. It's not the time for you to not give her any place in your head and your heart. You need to learn, it's not going to be easy to let go. It never is, but you need to know who you should burn the world for. For now, focus on yourself."

"When did you become a wise oak?"

"When I saw you going down a rabbit hole of blame. Nothing is wrong with you, and you didn't do anything wrong."

She tries to hug me, but there's no way I'm letting her dirty my shirt with snort.

"I love you, but please clean your nose and shower to get this dark whatever out of this room. We are going shopping in a few, get ready. And sis, don't do something stupid. She smiles and nods.

I hope I at least steered her away from doing something stupid after the visit to the palace and getting heartbroken again.
