The waitress walked up to us.
“Hi~, I’m going to be your server today. Are you ready to order?”
“Uh, yes! Can I have some orange juice and a smiley face pancake?” Dem responded.
“‘Course. You?” She looks at Josh.
Josh pointed at himself, confused if she was talking to him. “Oh! A strawberry shortcake waffle and a hot chocolate.” He smiles then looks at Cammie.
“Can I have eggs Benedict?”
“Mhm.” She looks at me.
“A-“ Avacado toast, please.”
After I told them they had very different reactions.
“What? So she’s a fuck’n… demon?” Josh questioned as he tried to grasp the concept of such a thing.
“I mean… she kinda sounds familiar.” Cammie added.
We all looked at her with confusion and curiosity.
“Do you know who she is??” Demy passionately asked, ready to start whatever conquest was thrown at her.
“Okay. So…” She started. “I don’t really know. There’s many stories and legends in this town and at least 6 stories about banshee women in Wilsonberg.”
It makes sense Cammie would know so much about Wilsonberg. She’s lived here her whole life, along with her parents and their parents and their parents. Honestly, her ancestors probably came from the mother fucking Mayflower!
“Okay!” Dem blurted excitedly then stopped for a moment. “How are we gonna figure out who she is, though?”
We all looked at each other.
Cammie holds back a big grin. “We get to go to the library.”
“What’s at the library?”
“There’s a bunch of logs and archives from the 1700s to now.” She said with a hushed squeal.
“Uh okay! I’ve never been to a library, but, excited to go!” Dem said, matching Cammie’s enthusiastic energy.
