Lisa sat serenely in her wedding dress, her beauty radiating as she waited in the bridal room for the ceremony to begin. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, her emotions in a delicate balance. Meanwhile, Tina and her mother watched as the guests began to arrive, their faces unfamiliar to the pair. Mrs. Flora's expression was tinged with disappointment, her eyes scanning the crowd with a mix of sadness and longing.
Tina noticed her mother's discontent and suggested they go check on Lisa. As they entered the room, their faces lit up with excitement. "You look beautiful, Lisa!" they exclaimed in unison, their eyes shining with admiration. But as they approached Lisa, they saw the tears streaming down her face. Both Tina and Mrs. Flora rushed to her side, enveloping her in a warm hug.
"Don't cry, Lisa," they cooed, trying to console her. Mrs. Flora's voice was soothing, while Tina's words were laced with concern. As they comforted Lisa, the minutes ticked by, and soon they were interrupted by a gentle knock on the door. "The ceremony is about to start," a soft voice announced, signaling that it was time for Lisa to take her place.
The car slowed to a stop, and Luke and Lisa arrived at their honeymoon destination. Luke quickly exited the vehicle, instructing the driver to bring in their luggage. Lisa hesitated for a moment before stepping out of the car, her eyes widening as she took in the luxurious surroundings. They were staying in a penthouse, and the opulence was evident in every detail.
As she stepped inside, Luke was already seated on the couch, his phone and computer open in front of him. The screen shone brightly on his face, illuminating his features. The driver brought in their luggage and excused himself, leaving the newlyweds alone.
Lisa stood still, looking tired and a bit out of place. Luke closed his computer, stood up, and picked up his bag. Without a word, he walked into one of the rooms, leaving Lisa standing alone in the living area, feeling confused and uncertain about what to do next.
Lisa looked around the penthouse, her eyes settling on a door that led to another room. She picked up her bag and walked in, closing the door behind her. The room was beautifully decorated, but Lisa barely noticed. She went straight to the bathroom, where she showered and changed into a pair of pajamas.
As she lay down on the bed, she hoped to find some respite from her racing thoughts. But despite her exhaustion, sleep eluded her. Frustrated and restless, she stood up and began to pace around the room. The silence and darkness seemed to close in around her, and before she knew it, she was crying. The tears flowed freely, and she let them, unable to hold back the emotions that had been building up inside her. The night wore on, and Lisa cried, lost in her thoughts and feelings, unable to find peace.
In the morning Tina sat on the couch, her eyes cast downward, refusing to budge. "I'm not going to work today," she said, her voice laced with a mix of sadness and determination.
Mrs. Flora raised an eyebrow, her expression a blend of surprise and amusement. "You're not going to work because you can't face your colleagues for not inviting them to your sister's wedding?" she asked, her tone tinged with skepticism.
Tina shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears. "No, it's not that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm just feeling down. Lisa's wedding came so suddenly, and it all happened so quickly. I...I just can't believe she's married."
Mrs. Flora's expression softened, and she went over to Tina, wrapping her arms around her in a warm hug. "You can visit her, sweetie," she said, trying to reassure her. "I'm sure she'd love to see you." Mrs. Flora's words seemed to bring a glimmer of hope to Tina's eyes, and she nodded slowly, feeling a little better.
