Luke, Macey and three more warriors arrived at the designated meeting place. It was a café at Hallow Town. It was pretty secluded, with only three more people in the place except the ones Luke came with. Two of his warriors were standing outside, guarding the place and also making sure they could see Luke in case something happened. The other one was seated with Macey three tables away from Luke.
Sierra came in five minutes late, also having her own warriors.
Luke remained seated, wearing his infamous frown. He almost broke character when he spotted Macey making love eyes at Sierra.
"Good afternoon, Alpha Luke. Thank you for making time to meet with me," she bowed in respect, then sat down.
"And what is it that you wanted to meet for? What alliance?"
"It's about the Killex poison. Unfortunately, five of our members were attacked and the poison made its way into their systems. We've lost two of our warriors this morning. Someone is going around attacking our Pack, and I heard that we're not the only ones," she said, looking Luke in the eyes.
"And what do you want me to do about the news? Come to pay my respect to your deceased?" He was provoking her. He saw that it worked as she glared at him, but quickly replaced the glare with a neutral expression.
She let his comment slide when she said, "What I'm proposing is that we've got a lead of where the person is. We want some resources from you that could help us."
"Need."
"Excuse me?" She frowned, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Say you need some resources from me, not want," he smiled for the first time, enjoying making her try to hold herself from exploding.
"Yes, we really need those resources from your Pack," she emphasized the word 'Pack', having some attitude.
Luke chuckled, getting ready to stand up.
"What are you doing? Where are you going?" Sierra panicked, standing up too.
"It seems I've been too lenient on your disrespect. I don't do business with low ranks like yourself who think they are above an Alpha. What does Rolus teach you guys? To have attitudes worth nothing?"
"I'm sorry, but please listen to me. We have a lead, you have the resources we need to follow that lead. Please, think about this. We really need your help and it will be beneficial for you too," she spoke, desperate.
Luke sat back down, rubbing his chin in thought. "How can that be beneficial for me?"
"We have the antidote coming tonight. We'll give it to you free of charge the moment we have it, tonight," she promised.
Luke thought about his Beta and how he needed that antidote. He glared at Sierra, wondering how she knew about them needing the antidote. "What do you know? How do you know we need the antidote? Who told you?" He was paranoid, already thinking of moles in his Pack.
"Creek Pack was at your ceremony. Someone was bound to see something and I have that someone. Like I said, we have a lead, but all we need are resources. I'm sure you'd want to know who attacked your Beta and have justice."
Luke pondered on her offer. Peter really needed the antidote and he deserved his justice. Whoever attacked him must really have a death wish. No one attacked his Pack and got away with it.
"Alright. I'll give you what you need, but we also need to know everything that's going on. I'll set up a meeting with your Alpha to arrange everything."
Sierra's eyes widened, saying, "About that, I'm in charge of the mission."
Luke looked at her suspiciously, narrowing his eyes at her. "Rolus doesn't know you're here?"
"No! I mean, he knows. He put me in charge of the mission."
Luke just shook his head and stood up, gesturing for Macey and Bryan, the Warrior, to ready themselves because they were leaving. "I think we're done here. Make sure that you send me that antidote and then we'll take it from there."
"Wait. How do I trust that you will deliver?" she asked, standing up too.
"You don't have to trust me. Don't forget that I'm not the one who is in dire need of assistance."
Sierra sighed, then nodded. But before Luke could leave, she told him, "That poison is lethal, don't take chances. Whoever is doing this knows what he's doing, please don't take it lightly."
Luke left with his people, still bothered about the information Sierra brought. He knew for sure now that the Shadow Pack was not behind the attack because they were in good standing with Creek Pack. Someone was out for both the Creek Pack and the Black Moon Pack. That's if that someone isn't attacking all the Packs.
"Are you okay?" Macey asked him, seeing that he was so lost in his thoughts.
He nodded, but sighed and shook his head. "I'm thinking about what Sierra told me. I need you to arrange a meeting with everyone when we arrive back home. We really need to be cautious because there's a threat outside."
Macey nodded, opening the passenger door of their car and getting in. Luke got in the driver seat, then the other warriors got in their own car.
They drove back to the Pack House in silence, all lost in their thoughts.
When they arrived, they found Michelle, Samson, Tamera and Shanell waiting for them.
"What's going on?" he asked when they got out of the car. "Is Peter alright?"
"He's fine. There was a scent of an unfamiliar wolf on the North border and Gent reported that there were unfamiliar scents in Ripple District. Some wolves have trespassed without reporting their business to us," Tamera informed, her serious face too intimidating.
Luke was angry at the trespassers. Ripple District was their turf because Black Moon fell under that town. Every wolf that entered had to report their business to Black Moon because the town was their business. It was theirs to protect against dangerous wolves.
He gesturing for everyone to follow him. Macey had already gone inside to arrange for the Pack Meeting.
"I've met with Creek Beta. She knows more about these wolves than we do and she has sought assistance from our Pack. Let's go inform everyone about what's happening," he told them, going to their designated Pack meeting place. It was outside in the back, where everyone could come and listen.
"Did you agree to her proposal?" Tamera asked, keeping up with Luke and the others.
"Yes. They will deliver the antidote for Peter and I want you and Shanell to receive the antidote at the border and make sure to alert the guards that no one is to enter our territory without informing us. Take Shanell with you to let the others know at the border about my instruction," he ordered Tamera, who in turn bowed and called out to Shanell to follow her.
"Who's doing this?" Luke asked his parents.
"They are no rogues. They are from a Pack and I'm afraid that they're lurking might bring danger to our Pack," Samson replied.
When they arrived at the Pack Meeting, everyone that could come came.
They all bowed to their Alpha when he stepped on a huge rock, his rock that he always stood on when he addressed the Pack. His parents were beside him, together with Macey.
"It is with sad news that I've called you out here. We have trespassers that bring danger to our town and Pack. I order everyone to stay safe and vigilant during these times until it all calms down. I don't want any pup left unattended outside in the trees, and if one of you goes running or hunting, I want you to form groups of at least ten before going out. Anyone who goes out alone will be punished. And those of you going to school, make sure you're never alone anywhere. If you think you can't handle yourself, I will arrange someone to look after you. Any questions?" he spoke, his voice booming against the walls and traveling to reach everyone.
There were murmurs among the members, all looking scared and confused.
"What about those that don't live in the Pack House? How will they be protected?" one of the Pack members asked.
"Yes, about that. I'll arrange warriors to stay at their houses for the time being, but some are capable of protecting themselves. The priority is for those who are at the Pack House. Any other questions?"
"So, if we don't manage to form a group of at least ten, are we supposed to put a hold on our plans?" Some teenager asked, making Luke tick.
"It's simple. You don't go. But if you want to put your life in danger, go ahead. We will mourn you, don't worry, but just know that if you survive, punishment will be waiting for you here. It's either you make sure you don't violate the rules, or if you do violate them, make sure you're not caught because if you are, you'd wish those trespassers caught you," he was irritated at the girl's attitude.
She bowed in respect, then made herself appear smaller by trying to disappear into the crowd.
"Any more questions?" His voice reflected his mood.
No one spoke, making Luke nod in approval. "Alright then. We will implement some more rules for everyone's safety. You're dismissed."
When he looked in front of him, he saw Tamera horror-stricken when she was exiting the Pack House.
She beckoned him over, her urgency Luke could feel from where he stood.
He jumped off the rock, then hurried to her. When he saw that it was not enough, he ran.
"What's wrong?"
"It's Beta Peter. He's too critical. Dr Smith said that we need that antidote now. He's not going to last the day," she fretted.
Luke felt his heart jump out of his chest, fear gripping him. He ran back into the Pack House, quickly taking his phone out of his pocket and calling Sierra.
He was all over the place, struggling to contain himself when she picked up.
"Where's the antidote? Where's the fucking antidote?" he yelled.
"We don't have it yet. We'll get it later tonight-"
"Send me your contacts' location and I'll get it myself. Do it now!" he ordered.
"I will, but-" he hung up before she could finish.
A second later, he received the location. He ran out the Pack House, going to the car and doing everything in a hurry. He pulled out of the perimeter, speeding to the location.
