Savoured Embrace

Oct 09, 2025

Months later, Lisa had begun to adapt to her new life, and with it, a teasing familiarity with Luke. She had started calling him "hubby" just to see the look on his face. One morning, she came downstairs to find Luke already having breakfast, preparing to leave for work.

"Hubby, I told you couples are supposed to eat together," Lisa said, her voice light and playful. "You didn't wait for me today again. Oh, because you feel I don't have work to go to?" She raised an eyebrow, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

She took a bite of the toasted bread prepared for her, her eyes never leaving Luke's face. He looked up briefly, his expression unreadable, before focusing on his food. "You want me to hire you?" he asked, his voice neutral.

Lisa signaled for him to repeat it, her hand waving slightly as she chewed, her mouth still full of food. She swallowed, her eyes sparkling with amusement, waiting for him to elaborate.

"I don't need your job, I want money," Lisa replied, her voice firm and clear. "So, there is this—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Luke interrupted her, his hand extending across the table as he landed a card in front of her. "Take this," he said, his voice brief as he stood up, preparing to leave for work. Lisa's eyes dropped to the card, her expression unreadable as she gazed at it, unsure of what to make of the sudden gesture.

After Luke left, Lisa's face broke into a bright smile, a look of excitement and anticipation washing over her. Over the months, she had made a conscious decision to adapt to her new life, and in doing so, had discovered a new passion for various hobbies. She spent hours watching shows, fascinated by the lives and styles of the female leads, and often found herself buying things she saw them wear or using products she deemed interesting.

She had also made an effort to fit in with the elite circle Luke's family moved in, particularly the wives and daughters. Although she didn't particularly enjoy their company, she pretended to, attending meetings and gatherings with a smile plastered on her face.

With her newfound freedom, Lisa decided to go shopping, and as she arrived at the store, she was greeted with warm smiles and welcoming gestures. She had become a regular VIP customer, and the staff knew her well. They catered to her every whim, eager to please the wife of the wealthy Luke Wilson.

Tina was celebrating with her colleagues at their department dinner, having just landed a project to collaborate with a big company. The atmosphere was lively, with laughter and chatter filling the air. One of her colleagues, Peddy, decided to check her phone, and as she scrolled through social media, she leaned over to show Jane what she had found. They both giggled, their eyes sparkling with amusement.

Martha, curious about what was so funny, extended her hand and snatched the phone from Peddy. "Let's see what you have," she said, her voice filled with intrigue. As she looked at the screen, she leaned over to Goody, and they both burst out laughing. Increase, Benny and Tina stared at them, confused, wondering what was so funny.

Martha showed them the screen, and their eyes widened as they saw Lisa, Luke's wife, flaunting her newfound hobbies on social media. She had gained a significant following, and her posts were clearly making waves. "Mrs. Luke Wilson be doing the most," Martha said, chuckling. "To me, she is the best daughter-in-law any wealthy family could ask for," Peddy replied, nodding in agreement.

Increase chimed in, "Well, that's good for them..." But his tone shifted as he raised his glass to toast. "And this is good for us - we have a project to work on!" The group laughed and clinked their glasses together, the focus shifting from Lisa's social media antics to their own celebration.
