Crusaders: A Page in History

Chapter 1: The Start of the Journey

Chapter 1: The Start of the Journey

Oct 07, 2025

A ninja is crouched on the ground with his hood up, his black hair is messy on his head, and blood drips down. He has a metallic mask covering his face, with all of his clothes having a metallic shine. One of his eyes is black and the other is red. He gets up and walks up to a person who is standing in front of him. The person has black hair. Wolf ears come out of their head, and they also have a black tail. They have black armor covering their body and black gauntlets that look like claws. Blue shards fly at the person, fusing with their armor and forming a blue cape behind them. The ninja starts to speak. “Why are you still overestimating them? You could wipe out all these weaklings with ease if you used your full power. Why are you still worried that they will catch up to your strength?”

The guy turns towards the ninja. On his face is a black, ridged mask. The mask features a red and a blue eye, with a blue line extending from both eyes to the red, smiling mouth. The top of the mask has misshapen spikes that look like the top of a crown. “That arrogance could be your downfall one day. You walk into a battle thinking that you will win, while you should be thinking of how you could win. In the end, the outcome of this battle won’t matter whether or not I go all out from the beginning. What purpose does uselessly using my full power serve? It doesn’t guarantee that the battle will end sooner. All it does is quickly use up my stamina. Never underestimate the power of an unbreakable spirit. Never underestimate someone with a never-ending will to win. In the end, it will only end with you losing. Always be cautious about what unknown variables could affect the battle.” He pulls a sword out of a wormhole behind his back and then walks forward into a blazing inferno. On the other side, there are countless beings. “Ancient Void blade technique.” He swings his sword. “Dying world.” The entire battlefield explodes and is bathed in a white light. “If you don’t, then that will be the death of you.”

“Wake up, Dai’chi, it’s 5 in the afternoon. Why the hell are you still asleep?” A guy is floating in the air, shaking someone. They have slightly messy brown hair. They have one small angel wing and one small demon wing. He is wearing a black hoodie with black pants with two white lines on the side. His eyes are gray, and he looks to be around the age of 16 or 17.

“Shut up.” The person named Dai’chi says. His hair is all messy and is the color black. One of his eyes is red while the other one is black. He is wearing a red pajama top with black bottoms. He looks to be around 18 or 19.

The person floats above the bed and then kicks Dai’chi off of it. “I SAID, Wake UP,” They yell. Dai’chi jolts awake, realizing that he is currently lying on the floor. He looks around and sees the person floating in his room.

“Jesse, how the hell did you get into my room?” He says. He slowly sits up and looks at Jesse. He yawns while he stretches his arms. He slowly stands up. “That hurt my back,” Dai’chi says.

“I own this place,” Jesse says.  “I can get into any room I want to, and even if I didn’t, I still would be able to. The locks in this place don’t even work.” He lands on the ground and puts his hands in his pockets.

“What do you want? I was happily sleeping and you decided to wake me up, so it better be important.” Dai’chi says. He looks at Jesse, annoyed. His eyes have large bags under them.

“I found that guy you were talking about. I followed him, and he went to a laboratory that I think has the crystal you are looking for,” Jesse says.  Dai’chi sighs. He decides that the reason was worth waking him up.

“Fine, let's go, I guess,” he says. Jesse holds his arms out in front of him. A magic circle starts forming underneath both of them. It starts to glow brighter, and then Dai’chi and Jesse disappear.

A magic circle forms in a forest. A bright light shines, then Dai’chi and Jesse appear in the circle. “This is where I saw it, it’s right in that building over there.” They walk over to the building, and one of the guards in front of the door walks over to them.

“Better leave now unless you have a death wish,” He says. Dai’chi walks past him and cuts his head off. The other guard rushes at Dai’chi, but he is swiftly taken out.  He slices through their bodies with ease. Each one fell to the floor, completely lifeless.

“Weaklings,” Dai’chi says. He kicks down the door. A large number of guards rush at him. “Flame magic, flame slash.” Dai’chi’s sword gets coated in fire, and he swings his sword forward. All of the enemies in front of him get cut in half and set ablaze. Guards continue to rush towards them, and someone shoots an arrow. Dai’chi deflects the arrow, and it hits a doll. Jesse gets on his knees and says a prayer for the doll. Someone walks up from behind Jesse and puts a gun to his head. ”SHUT UP, THERE’S A FU-*bleep* GUN POINTED AT YOU.”

“It’s too late to save him now.” The guy pulls the trigger, but as he does, the gun redirects to the side and misses. He continues trying to shoot, but none of the bullets hit. “How!? I’m shooting from point-blank!” the guy says, in complete shock.

“You’ll never land an attack on me, I don’t feel like getting hit.” Dai’chi runs over and slashes the guy in half. They continue going through the facility until they get to a room with a lot of test tubes. Dai’chi breaks open one of the tubes and grabs something out of it. He looks at the other tubes and then turns around.

“I got what I needed, let's go.” They walk out of the building. Dai’chi turns around and casts a spell that destroys the building. They head back towards the magic circle. Jesse reactivates it, and they disappear. Leaving the remnants of the building behind.

They appear at the entrance of a mansion, and they go inside. Dai’chi looks over at Jesse and says something. “What’s it like not having any of your memories?” Dai’chi says, he puts his hands in his pockets.

Jesse thinks for a moment, then shrugs his shoulders. “It’s never really bothered me that much. There isn’t a reason for me to want them back, so I haven’t really cared about it at all,” Jesse says.

“Must be nice in a way.” Dai’chi puts his hands in his pockets. “It’s been so many years that I’ve been alive at this point that it has gotten quite boring. I have yet to meet anyone in thousands of years that have stood a chance against me. Everything seems kind of pointless with how much better I am than everyone.”

“It hasn’t bothered me at all,” Jesse says. Dai’chi looks over at him with an annoyed expression. He clicks his tongue in annoyance. His back hunches over as they continue to walk. Dai’chi starts trash-talking Jesse.

“Because you don’t have any memories or your powers. In your current state, I doubt you could beat an average human.” Dai’chi says. Jesse simply ignores him and says that the mission Dai’chi went on was quite easy. Dai’chi yells at him that he would have died if he hadn’t gotten lucky.

“You said you were getting bored with there being nobody strong. That’s only because you haven’t been looking in the right places all these years. Everything that happens has a purpose, and nothing is ever truly random.” Dai’chi looks over at Jesse, who takes a few steps away from him. “If you want to meet strong people with a lot of chaos involved.” Jesse grins and sticks out his hand.

“Then join the Crusaders.”
