The girl walks the hall with the books clutched to her chest on her way to the library. No one takes any notice of her as she reads through the stack of books in her overflowing bag. She listens but doesn’t talk. One day she finds her group. People listen to her ideas and she finds her voice. She listens but she talks. She reads but she socialises. She walks a little straighter and she answers questions in class. She understands and grows but still her heart lies with the characters. The story lines and authors will always understand her more than her friends. She has learnt to balance the two worlds and now has time to enjoy herself while maintaining friendships. She feels she has now found her voice and friends who recommend books. She is home.
