Year 2017, Site-19

Dr. Faro found himself in an extraordinarily strange situation. During one of the last missions, he was sent with an MTF unit to capture SCP-106. The operation went relatively smoothly, but in the house where the entity was finally contained, a tragedy occurred — nearly the entire family living there was brutally murdered.

Only one child survived: a ten-year-old girl with brown hair and blue eyes, named Betty. For the first time in a long while, Faro felt something he rarely experienced in his life — compassion and sorrow. He decided to take care of the surviving child, who didn’t even realize the nightmare that had unfolded around her.

Over time, he began to treat Betty as his own daughter. Through her, he rediscovered human emotions he had long believed to be lost. Although the girl lived within Site-19 under Dr. Faro’s care — which initially caused numerous problems and controversy — her presence soon began to change the atmosphere among the staff. Some doctors, accustomed to cold routine and working with nightmares, started to see in her a glimpse of normalcy and innocence.

Faro himself, though he didn’t need to eat or drink, changed that. He began eating, drinking, and even learned how to cook so the girl could feel like she was living a normal life — like in an ordinary family. For three years, the Site experienced an unfamiliar sense of familial warmth… until the day of another SCP-682 containment breach attempt. In the chaos that engulfed the facility, Betty was killed. She was crushed by burning debris and then devoured by the beast. Faro, witnessing the scene, saw the girl’s hand protruding from the reptile’s jaws and heard her voice as SCP-682 mocked him, imitating its victim.

That day, Faro went into a rage. Using his abilities, he forced SCP-682 into a state of “decay” and nearly destroyed it completely. In his fury, he also blamed the Foundation’s personnel for Betty’s death, killing dozens of staff members in an act of vengeance. Only three years later did Faro finally destroy the creature… with his own hands.

SCP-106 is a decaying humanoid capable of passing through walls, causing corrosion, and trapping its victims in a pocket dimension, also known as the “tear dimension.”

SCP-682 is a massive, intelligent reptile that despises all life, constantly adapts to threats, and remains practically indestructible.

The state of decay is a unique condition in which a living being’s body begins to disintegrate, and every movement, blink, or breath is accompanied by unimaginable pain so intense that the victim soon begs for death. When the full stage of decay is used, the body disintegrates completely and turns into an ash-like substance. There is also the possibility of immediately turning a target into that ash-like material. So far, this ability has been recorded only in Dr. Faro and Feya.
