Clive's eyes shuttered open as he let out a groan as if his body had not been moving for about 10 years. The wound that was on his left eye had even had the time to close up into a scar. He then rose from the coffin-like structure he had been placed in by someone a number of years ago.
His eyes took in the new environment for a moment before a feminine, guttural scream for help. Clive quickly rushed toward the origin of the voice and found a bleeding woman with her right eye hanging out as if it had been gouged out, she looked beaten, cut and so much worse. The madam weakly reached up for Clive's hand, obviously trying to ask for help.
Clive gently put his hand on her forehead and chanted,
HEAL
Her eye quickly healed back into her socket, but the girl quickly realized that the healing had left her blind in her right eye. She quickly tried to punch Clive but due to her reduced vision, she stumbled over her own feet and fell right into Clive's chest; he quickly wrapped an arm around her in case she was going to fall more.
Are you okay, Sylvia? Clive asked gently
Sylvia went to reply before her eyes widened suddenly. HOW THE FUCK DID HE KNOW HER NAME?! And... wasn't the power he just used some form of healing? Weren't only the old gods and outer gods capable of that?
Clive tilted his head to the side as she mentioned the word gods; he did not know what that meant. That action made the woman pause for a second before she decided to tell the story of the old gods to Clive personally at her house.
Clive nodded before glancing down at his ripped-off arm that also had the time to scar before lifting his gaze back up to the woman before him before asking her about who had attacked her. Sylvia's gaze darkened before she described a woman with some kind of gothic-like tattoo on her neck.
Sylvia then nodded to the corner of the room, where some kind of clothes and a sword were lying Clive quickly made his way toward the items and put them on, making sure to heal his cut arm at the same time.
He then grabbed the katana that was next to him and flung it over his back as he followed the girl toward her home.
Suddenly, as they went to cross a bridge that separated Marai Island from one of its neighboring islands, Clive's mind seemed to be pulled out of his body and thrown into someone else. He took a glance at the mirror that was now next to him, where the girl should have been, and all he saw was... Astaroth? How did his conscience end up in Astaroth's body? Was he just daydreaming? No, this felt too real. Did his Waver have some other effect even he wasn't aware of?. The Mind of Astaroth started to fight back for control, but Clive overpowered it easily; he knew more about how the mind worked than anyone else alive, of course, due to his ability, Waver.
A single blink seemed to throw him into the past of Astaroth's mind, the day when he managed to make Catherina turn against him. Clive raised a finger toward his old self using Astaroth's body and chanted.
Gravitational Manipulation: Attraction
But before Clive could fire it off, someone grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around, bringing him back to the present. It was his sister? So she actually was working with Astaroth now? Before Clive could even ask her any questions, Catherina grabbed her red gem and punched the fuck out of Clive. So hard that his soul seemed to go right back in his body.
But Clive wasn't disappointed or anything...no, this discovery made him intrigued. He had just used someone else's power in their own body. Could he perhaps use their power in his own body now? He pointed his finger away from Sylvia, who looked at him confused before chanting something different. If Astaroth could manipulate gravity to pull things toward something, could he also push them away?
Gravitational Manipulation: Repulsion
A ball of gravity shot out right from his finger and hit a tree before pushing out a huge wave of gravity, destroying everything around it. Clive couldn't believe his eyes. He was actually able to copy abilities completely, not just part of them like he had done with the heal ability of Astaroth. This show of power made Sylvia let out a small gasp before she smacked Clive on the cheek and told him that destroying nature for no reason isn't a good thing and they had a place to go to right now.
Clive sighed and agreed and began to walk back with the woman toward her house.
A few hours later after arriving at Sylvia's house.
The legend of the old gods goes like this:
Thousands of years ago a god whose goal was to oversee the things that happen in the universe got bored and separated himself into pieces and gave multiple people powers to rival even his own, and thus were born the old gods, but this planet never had powers until the Battle of the Stars, which happened 30 years ago.
At 1 AM that night, two stars broke right through the fabric of space-time and fought each other before crashing down in the crater of Marai Island and letting out a huge wave of energy as the stars died. That energy gave us our powers and made us what the rest of the Ring continent calls "the infected."
Clive clearly did not believe a single word that had just come out of her mouth, but whatever, he let out a small scoff before asking her for a friendly spar. Which Sylvia did not refuse.
Clive walked past her to go outside of the house before letting out a chuckle to let her know he was going to let her make the first move. She immediatly raised her hand and gripped her sword. Clive eyes widen. Wait was she not like him? Did she not have powers? She's an outsider? Sylvia immediatly lunged forward with her huge sword and swung at such speed that Clive would not have been able to dodge if he didn't learn a new technique.
He pointed his finger right toward the ground and chanted
Repulsion
The earth cracked beneath his feet as a burst of gravity hurled Clive backward, launching him about two hundred meters in the blink of an eye. The air roared in his ears and yet, before he could even land to the ground. Sylvia was already there, her blade flashing downward in a silver arc, ready to carve throught the air.
But before she could finish her move, the surface of her face was split in two as a card like metal object flew throught the sky hitting her but not killing her. Clive and Sylvia both let out a gasp as they glanced at where the projectile had came from and there it was. A man holding a weapon out of the ordinary. A string attached to a sharp rectangle of metal. He had a blindfold on which he gently pulled up to glance at the two people before him
Clive didn't hesitate and he sent a ball of gravity straight toward the man. However before he could let out his desired chant the man before him had already cut the ball of gravity in half before smirking and saying
Fuck it. Let's go straight to the point. He then proceeded to chant
Dargelionna: Strings of Submissions
Clive seemed to be the intended target of the Dargelionna, as he was left alone in the Prison created by the man before him, he was now surrounded by multiple very sharp strings that would cut deep into his flesh if he even dared to move. Thinking quickly, Clive took a step forward and another as he chanted "HEAL" over and over again so that his wounds would just scar instantly and the man's Dargelionna wouldnt have any effect on him. The man took a step back in fear but before he could do anything Clive raised a finger at him and chanted.
Gravitationnal Manipulation first and second form combined: Destroy
Gravity seemed to distort around the ball and in the blink of an eye the man's chest was torn apart and his Dargelionna came apart.
In merely 20 seconds, Clive had killed someone with his newfound ability. But, the man stood up? Clive pushed Sylvia away as the man quickly swung his chain-like weapon at them. As Clive fell to the ground he noticed that the ball that was cut by the man was still present in the sky so he aimed his finger toward it and chanted destroy but at a way greater scale. He then proceeded to shield Sylvia with his body as the explosion of gravity rang out frying anything that it came in contact with.
Sylvia's eyes widened as the man Clive had been fighting was roasted and dead on the ground while Clive was.. her eyes went to the ground where Clive was. Collapsed and dying.
Sylvia could only stare at Clive's face, confused by everything.. so focused on his face, in fact, that she did not hear the steps coming from behind her. The man who was supposed to be death had..healed complety? And now had 4 eyes? Wait this was Astaroth? He can take over bodies too?! Just how strong is he?!
Astaroth quickly sent his arm down toward Sylvia's neck.
Slump. Astaroth's arm landed on the ground. Sylvia looked down at it before letting out a scream of fear as she saw who was behind her. But before Astaroth could do anything to her. A prison barrier suddently surrounded him and a chant was heard from a familiar voice.
Dargelionna: Wave of the Innocent Mind
Astaroth turned around to face a giant brain-like structure, and standing on top of it, there it was, Clive Kushin himself. The man who had just now unlocked his Dargelionna. Astaroth not wanting to deal with the bullshit that Waver was once again crushed his head within his hands to kill the vessel he was inhabiting. Clive blinked confused for a moment before letting out a deep chuckle. Did he really just run away? Or.. was he told to stop?
