As Lady Celeste walked down the hallway, she spotted a grand carriage waiting in the front yard. The carriage was adorned with intricate designs, and Lady Celeste couldn't help but feel a sense of surprise. Duke Claude had prepared this carriage especially for her?
Sir Permio, one of the Duke's men, was struggling to carry three heavy luggage. Lady Celeste's sympathetic side kicked in, and she offered to help. "Sir Permio, are you sure it's not heavy? I can carry the other one."
Sir Permio smiled tiredly. "It's fine, my lady. If I handed you one of these luggage, I'm sure the Duke would kill me."
Lady Celeste blushed at the mention of Duke Claude's name. She felt a flutter in her chest as she saw him rushing towards her.
"Celeste, I've been waiting for long. How is your sleep, my lady?" Duke Claude asked, his voice filled with concern.
Lady Celeste's face grew hotter as she tried to push him away. "Your Grace, stop this act right now. You're making me blush in front of these people."
But Duke Claude just smiled, his eyes shining with sincerity. He held Lady Celeste's hand, and they walked towards the carriage. Lady Celeste felt a sense of excitement mixed with nervousness as she sat beside Duke Claude in the carriage.
As they traveled, Duke Claude clung to Lady Celeste like a child, holding her hand and gazing at her with adoration. Lady Celeste couldn't help but laugh at his antics, feeling a sense of joy she hadn't felt in a long time.
After days of traveling, they finally arrived at the Wyrmsley Countdom. Lady Celeste's parents, Countess Elrie Wyrmsley and Count Thierman Wyrmsley, greeted them warmly.
"Celeste, you've lost weight. You should've eaten more in the Duchy," Countess Wyrmsley said, concern etched on her face.
Lady Celeste smiled, trying to reassure her mother. "I'm fine, Mother. We should head back inside. I'm sure my husband is tired from the trip."
But Duke Claude had other plans. As they entered the manor, he exchanged a tense glance with Count Wyrmsley. Lady Celeste quickly intervened, holding Duke Claude's hand. "Let's go to our chambers. Father, I'm sure Duke Claude would like to rest after the long journey."
As they walked to their chambers, Duke Claude's expression turned somber. "My lady, am I bothering you? You seem very tired. Do you want me to sleep in another room tonight?"
Lady Celeste's heart melted at his concern, and she replied, "Of course, I'm tired. But you don't need to sleep in another room tonight. You can sleep with me."
Duke Claude's face lit up with hope, and he said, "Celeste, I'm sorry for realizing your love for me this late. I should've realized it sooner. I hope I still have the right to be loved by you, my lady."
Lady Celeste's heart went out to him, and she kissed him, feeling a deep connection. "I'm the one who's sorry. I didn't know you were suffering from a curse, and I pushed you to the edge because of my stubbornness."
Duke Claude smiled, his eyes shining with gratitude. "Let's hurry up to the chamber, Celeste. I'll prove to you that my love is very sincere." And with that, they ran down the hallway, hand in hand, under the moonlit sky.
The moon cast a silver glow over the hallway, illuminating their happy faces. Lady Celeste felt like she was walking on air, her heart full of joy and love. She knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together, and she couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
