Olivia would like to scream, but all that came out were whimpers as she was dragged through the halls.
Ichigo ran as quick as she could, which wasn't very fast right now. Not only was she held back by Olivia's slower pace, the wound near her neck kept ripping wider open the longer she ran. She had to slow down, the stress and pain from the open wound were strong enough that she could feel her muscles about to give out at any moment. If not her body, then her mind will give up due to losing too much blood that should be circulating through her head instead of dribbling to the floor.
Red footsteps covered the hallways, Ichigo felt bad for the school janitor who'll have to clean this up later. Though, usually a crime scene cleaner takes care of these stains. Even if they won't find a body there will definitely be some kind of ruckus tomorrow.
Ichigo went around the corner and used this small window of time to hide. For good measure she also threw her hand over Olivia's mouth to keep any further whimpering muffled, maybe even inaudible. The two girls hid in the closet, staying completely still as a shadow, illuminated by moonlight, passed by the door.
If one or both of them were to step out right now, then perhaps they could find out just who was pursuing them. Problem is they would also end up with holes all over their body and perhaps get thrown into a hole. Considering the dramatics of the last incident though, perhaps they'll be left out…with one getting their insides messed with.
"A- Are you gonna be alright, Ichigo?" The wound had opened quite a bit while the two girls had tried to escape, it was hard to tell in this dark closet but Olivia's eyes had become accustomed to the dark by now. Ichigo seemed pale in her eyes and despite the smile on the transfer students' face she clearly wasn't feeling well.
"Why- are you so- worried?" Ichigo spat out the words as if she was trying to vomit. "Dummy…"
Despite how awful she seemed to be feeling, Ichigo truly wasn't worried at all. It didn't take long for her to pretend like she wasn't bleeding out again. Instead of holding onto her neck forever she began searching for something in the closet they had found themselves in. After seemingly grasping what she needed, she kicked the door open and jumped out to the halls.
"Don't! We need to be quiet and call-" Olivia was about to follow but instead Ichigo pushed her back in, she made sure to lock the closet from the outside too just in case.
"Hm. Now that's strange." Ichigo spat out, her lips felt cold. "This key wasn't here before."
At the end of the hall stood a figure. They made sure to stand far away from the moonlight.
Ichigo couldn't tell their face or figure, the only thing she could tell was the fact that whoever had stabbed her just now was rather short, roughly the same height as her. As even though they stood in the dark, their eyes shined brightly.
…Her eyes, rather. They shone bright like the sun.
"Did you do it to protect her?" Ichigo asked. "Or maybe…you just wanted to prevent a two against one fight?"
She remained stone faced, barely even blinking.
"Just kidding! I know it's because she'd recognize you quicker." Ichigo laughed, even though it hurt, she laughed. "I wouldn't though, I don't recognize you at all."
The smug look on Ichigo's face seemed to piss her off, as she raised her knife again.
"Now, now, what're you doing~? I thought you wanted to seem mysterious. Are you seriously gonna run over here and let me see you so easily? It's not like the moonlight will randomly disappear."
This time, the shadowy figure laughed. She couldn't help it as those words not only amused but also relieved her worries, Ichigo truly was truly stupid after all. The light that had illuminated the halls began to dim.
Ichigo's eyes went wide…she had forgotten that clouds existed.
Swiftly the slasher ran, her arm swinging forward. Ichigo managed to get away, but not without a few strands of her hair getting sacrificed.
Ichigo was back to getting chased like a mouse, it was somewhat easier without having to drag Olivia but her body felt so cold. From her toes to her fingertips, she felt so, so very cold.
The two girls ran outside, to the playground area behind the school. By now the large cluster of clouds had moved away from the moon. It was like they showed up specifically so Ichigo could get chased around. How cruel.
Her pursuer was convinced that Ichigo was getting desperate now, hoping that standing in the moonlight could keep her safe forever-
It was risky…However, not a single person was out here, not even Olivia. The knife wielder drew close, her face fully out in the open. Ichigo, who was leaning against the red wall, put on a fake shocked expression. "Wow…What a surprise…" Those were her last words as a piercing stab went through her skin.
Metal was digging deep into her gut, slicing and slicing, until finally popping out with bits of intestine stuck to it.
"Idiot…For a second I thought you actually had a plan, but you were really just playing tough- Agh!"
There was a stinging feeling near her chest, the slasher looked down at Ichigo's corpse and noticed something in her hand. Cleaning fluid, the kind that contains sulfuric acid. Although it hurt, the amount of acid in the fluid isn't enough to burn though skin, instead it simply burned away bits of her clothing.
For a while there would be a wound mark however…and Ichigo knew it would be there.
The girl with shiny eyes stabbed her knife through Ichigo's head, leaving it there as she began to head off. She remembered that Olivia was still trapped in the closer, a passing thought of unlocking the door went through her head…but it wasn't necessary. The morning sun will swing by soon.
With that thought she went home, humming a tune as she strolled through the empty streets of Berrymarrel. She didn't even know, what the morning sun would bring. She didn't even know, that there wouldn't be a cloud in the sky tomorrow.
