Luke walked out of his office, his eyes scanning the area as he made his way to the secretaries' desk. Brown and Alice were glued to their phones, their faces lit up with excitement. Brown, caught up in the moment, yelled out, "That's my girl!" But his enthusiasm was short-lived, as he suddenly discovered Luke's presence in front of him. His expression changed in an instant, and he quickly amended his statement. "That's my boss's wife," Brown said, his voice barely above a whisper, as he slowly faded away, trying to avoid eye contact with Luke.
Luke wasn't having any of Brown's nonsense. "What are you watching?" he asked, his tone firm and commanding. Brown hesitated, unsure of how to respond, but Alice, who was afraid of their boss, jumped in quickly. "It's Mrs. Lisa's interview today, sir," she replied, her voice trembling slightly.
Without saying a word, Luke instructed them to review and adjust his schedule. Then, he turned around and walked back into his office, leaving the secretaries to breathe a sigh of relief..
While they were having breakfast the next day. You really gave the journalist a lash huh?. The conversation was lighthearted, but Luke's eyes sparkled with amusement as he said something that made Lisa's defenses rise. In her defense, Lisa spoke up immediately. "She started it. All you did was finish it, right?" Luke's gentle smile spread across his face, and he leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Lisa's face.
Lisa paused her meal, her fork hovering in mid-air as she looked at him. "Have you been going on social media recently?" she asked, her tone laced with a mix of curiosity and annoyance. Luke's smile didn't waver. "You are my wife; I get to find out everything about you," he said, his voice smooth and matter-of-fact.
Lisa made a face, her expression a mixture of disgust and exasperation. "Gross," she muttered, shaking her head as she continued her meal. Despite her reaction, Luke's eyes lingered on her, his gaze warm.
Days later, Lisa went on her usual shopping outing, deciding to visit the menswear section. She got there and asked for the cloth she wanted, but was told that someone had already taken it. "I saw it first," she said, her voice firm. "I will pay double. Take me to the person who bought it."
The staff member hesitated, "I'm sorry, ma'am..." But Lisa cut him off, her voice rising. "Take me to him. I said I will pay him double," she insisted. The staff member hurriedly took the lead, sensing that Lisa was not someone to be trifled with.
When they reached the place, Lisa confronted the person, her eyes fixed on the shirt in question. "Sorry, mister, I saw that shirt first, and I want it for my husband. Please can I have it? I will make sure you get double of your money or triple if you want," she said, her tone polite but determined.
As she got closer to the person, he turned to her. And when he did, Lisa's words trailed off, her eyes locking onto his face. She suddenly became quiet, her expression frozen in surprise.
Both Lisa and the person she confronted were shocked, their eyes locked in a moment of mutual recognition. The person who had initially bought the dress seemed to lose interest in it, leaving it behind as he walked out of the store. Lisa, her curiosity and determination taking over, left her shopping bag and followed him.
He walked really fast, and Lisa had to run to catch up with him. She tried to get him to listen to her, but he didn't seem interested. Just as she thought she was about to reach him, he suddenly drove off, leaving Lisa standing alone, watching as he disappeared into the distance.
Lisa returned to the store, retrieved her belongings, and refused to collect the cloth she had wanted to get. Her encounter with the mysterious person had clearly shaken her. When Lisa left, the staff became confused. The person who had paid for the cloth had abandoned it, and Lisa, who had wanted it so desperately, had rejected it. They were unsure of what to do next, their usual routine disrupted by the unexpected turn of events.
