I let go, he picked me up and I put my arms around his neck burying my face in his neck and shoulder. I hold on for my life and he holds me from my thighs with one arm. I helped him by wrapping my legs around his waist. Mathew starts walking. Using one hand to hold the rail. We make it across he walks for a little more holding me because there’s one more. It was that spinning thing that’s at fairs that spins super slow and you walk across it.
Once our friends are off all he has to take is two steps and his off. He walks out the haunted house carrying me.
“We’re out, you can open your eyes now.” He tells me.
I let go and see people staring. I heard one say “Damn it’s that scary?” People must be hyped to go inside now. Once I’m off of him I hold his hand. He looks over to me shocked. I just looked at him and put my face in his arm.
“I’m sorry. I’m still freaking out.” I mumble to him. There are performers all over the park running up to people.
“It’s okay.”
We walk over to our group and they look confused. They saw him walking out carrying me and now holding my hand. Mathew explains to them that I’m having a bad trip. They all just nod.
“Here give him to me so you don’t have to hold him.” Nina said, grabbing my arm.
“It’s fine.” Mathew replied. ”My arm is already numb anyway.” They smile and we make our way out talking. Honestly, for how freaked out I was I felt safe with him there. He would rub my hand with his fingers when I would jolt. I kinda didn’t want to reach the exit because when we did it would end. Being able to hold his hand grabbing on to him in front of everyone and them not caring.
When we reached the exit a worker asked if I was okay. They just told her I was freaking out. She just nodded like it was normal.
“We’re outside now you can let go of his poor hand now.” Stephine told me.
I let go of him. “Sorry guys, I don't know why I’m freaking out so much. Who’s idea was it to take them in the first place?”
“Uhhh yours and Logan’s.” Nina commented.
“Oh…” I replied
We walk over to Mathew’s truck only this time Mathew is driving, Nina sitting behind him, Troy in the middle, Stephanie and Logan behind me. I’m sitting in the passenger seat next to Mathew. Everyone falls asleep for the hour and a half we have to drive. I wake up to Mathew’s phone stopping the music to tell him directions. He looks over at me, grabs my thigh and smiles. He goes back to driving, moving his hand.
Once we get to his house everyone wakes up. Mathew asked if they wanted to sleep over because there’s enough rooms. Troy said he was alright and drove home, his house being in the same neighborhood. The rest agreed and we all went inside. They headed to his kitchen. Mathew told them to take any room to the right side.
We ate a few snacks before everyone went upstairs. Nina went into a room by herself and Logan and Stephine went into the other. Mathew's parents were sound asleep. I’m starting to think that they added sound proofing into their walls. Mathew walks into his room and grabs something out of a drawer.
“I’m gonna smoke out on the balcony if you wanna come?” He told me. I grabbed a blanket off his chair and followed. We exit his room and go down the hall to the balcony door.
As he smoked I sat next to him. My legs lay over his legs. My head is on his shoulder with his arm around me. I could see the smoke leaving his lips. I loved seeing how he puckered and blew it out. With the blunt in his hand he moved my face up kissing me and going back to smoking. I was starting to fall asleep.
“Come on. Let’s go to bed.” He tapped me to wake me up.
We headed to his room, falling asleep next to each other.
