Note: This chapter is vague and only provides a small insight into Niko. 

A couple of hours before Niko meets Leo online.

“Lil’ Demon, do you want another bite?” Niko had a small piece of cooked fish on a plate. He waved it in front of his cat, enticing it. The white cat followed the plate before jumping up to catch it. Niko swiftly moved it, laughing. Annoyed with his owner, the cat grabbed Niko’s hair, which was down and hanging from his waist. 

The cat pulled Niko’s hair as revenge. “So cute.” Niko gently grabbed the cat’s claws from his hair, setting the cat down and putting the plate in front of it. Lil’ Demon glared before enjoying his meal. Niko watched, squatting near the cat as he thought about how fun it was to mess with it. 

The door to his house opened as a voice boomed out, causing Lil’ Demon to jump, “Niko! Did you beat up another alpha?” The person looked for Niko, only to see him squatting near an angry cat in the kitchen. When he entered, the cat clawed at the person, tearing a small hole in his pants with its sharp nails. Lil’ Demon glared before returning to his plate. 

“Ah, Lil’ Demon, what did I do?” The person whined, looking at the new decoration on their pants. 

“Why are you so loud?” Niko complained, standing as he walked past his older brother, Andrei. He entered the living area, lying on the couch as he turned on the TV. 

“Don’t ignore me, Niko. You sent another person to the hospital.” Andrei followed. 

Niko clicked his tongue, “Then he shouldn’t have tried to induce my heat. Fucking idiot; he is lucky I let him go with slight injuries.” Occasionally, Niko would encounter dumb alphas who try to get his attention in all the wrong ways—illegal ways. 

“Can you just take them to the police? It is getting harder to cover up everything. Or maybe, hide your identity, take them to a secluded area, and beat them up?” Andrei complained, joining Niko on the couch. 

Niko pushed Andrei away, putting space between them. “Don’t get close, you smell awful.” 

“I am wearing a scent blocker and no cologne!” 

“Then it is how you usually smell. Do you take baths? How can your fiancé stand you?” 

“Ugh, you are impossible to talk to!” 

“Stop yelling, you are giving me a headache.” Niko started rubbing his temples, already feeling annoyed. He was still in a shitty mood due to that alpha yesterday. His hands itched to go back and beat them up a second time. Or maybe he should beat his brother. 

Feeling Niko’s gaze, Andrei quickly stood up, inching away from him, “When is the last time you played Starlight Journey? We made the game for you to pour all your aggression into. Why don’t you go play and relax?” 

“I will think about it,” Niko responded, resting his head on his hand as he leaned back on the couch. 

“That is good. Then I am going to go, I have a date later.” 

“You should wash up before the date.” 

“Fuck you.” Andrei left the house. 

After Andrei left, Lil’ Demon entered the living area and jumped on the couch. He strutted towards Niko, hitting his thigh while meowing its grievances. “I know, I know.” Niko set his cat on his lap and petted him in the areas he liked. “Next time, I will punch him if he comes in loud again.” 

The cat purred in response. 

Petting Lil’ Demon, Niko thought about how bored he was. He hasn’t been on Starlight Journey for a month; maybe he should return. Plus, Sebastian has been bothering him about returning and checking on the Guild. 

He will log back in later on. 

After meeting Leo

When Niko met Leo, he thought he was interesting. Leo slightly feared him, which wasn’t a surprise. A lot of people saw how violent he was and how powerful his family was, too. So, it never bothered him. Seeing how nervous he was, he would have ignored him, but Leo’s responses and interactions kept him interested.

The more they played together, the more Leo started being himself; he was no longer scared of Niko, and that is what Niko found cute about him. 

But then that cuteness became more when they started talking over the phone. Hearing Leo’s voice and how he reacted to him made Niko want to possess him. He wanted Leo. And he wanted to see how much he could affect him. 

“Leo,” he would whisper to himself, wishing he could see the way Leo would shiver and get flustered. Niko would rub his lips, biting his finger to stop himself from pushing Leo. But the more he (Leo) gave, the more Niko wanted. 

Niko is a greedy person. And Leo was the cutest little alpha he had ever seen. 

He would scroll through Leo’s social media to find photos of him. Leo barely posted himself and would occasionally turn on his camera during streams, but the pictures that featured him were enough. 

Leo had brown curly hair two inches past his jawline, almond dark brown eyes, a heart-shaped face, and full lips. He did have some muscles, but not like other alphas who loved showing off their bodies. His muscles showed he exercises enough to stay healthy. 

Every time Niko stared at Leo’s photos, he wanted nothing more than to see what other expressions Leo could make. He wanted to know how many tears could flow down Leo’s face while making him beg. Fuck, I bet he would look so pretty with a tear-covered face. Niko thought. 

That is why he started subtly slipping in his dominating personality, bit by bit, to see how Leo would react. And who would have known how perfect Leo was? Niko’s eyes took on a predatory gleam every time he talked with Leo. 

If only he didn’t have this disorder (and that Leo didn’t have the same). If they were both fine, he would have snatched Leo long ago. How could he let go of something so perfect? He could only satisfy himself now with their talks and playing together. 

But who knew a chance would appear so soon? He hated that Leo had to deal with an attack, but he couldn’t stop himself from seizing an opportunity and letting himself go. 

This time, he will see how much he can make him beg—see what pretty sounds he could hear from Leo. 

“I hope you will let me know just how cute you can be,” Niko smirked, hitting his lips against his phone, waiting for Leo to call.
