The Forgotten Memory

Imprisoned

Imprisoned

Oct 18, 2025

Clive woke up out of the dragon's jaw. He glanced around, observing his new surroundings...a jail? Why did the aura of this place feel so familiar...? As he took in his entouring, he found something he was surprised to see. Markus's metal arm? Why did they put that in his cell? Did his sister feel some kind of pity for him? Clive knew that this damn metal arm could prove very useful, so he knelt next to it and picked it up using his scarred left hand.

He then proceeded to jam his right arm between the bars of the cells before quickly raising one of his fingers in the side his arm couldnt bend before chanting repulsion, which sent his arm flying however due to the fact it was stuck between the bars, it simply ripped iself into pieces which is exactly what Clive wanted. He did not even scream, it was as if he did not even feel it. He quickly put his severed limb into the mouth of the metal arm as his arm was slowly healing into it. A perfect fit.

Without waiting for a single second, Clive chanted his Dargelionna, hoping that the barrier would destroy the cell.

Dargelionna's barriers are very, very hot after all; when they expand to trap someone in them, they melt their surroundings in an instant. But this cell seemed different...it was just like that nullify ability from Syndrielle. As soon as his barrier came close to the bars, the barrier immediately shattered.

Clive stumbled back into the back of his cell. How could he possibly escape if the bars themselves nullified his ability... He was stuck here for almost a month when a guard walked by, sent by Catherina herself when Clive wouldn't stop singing that damn Lacrimosa song to himself as if he were talking to a ghost. Catherina had been watching him through a camera that had been placed in his cell.

As soon as the guard went to open the door, Clive used his new metal arm to roughly grab the guard to hold him against the wall that was right outside of his cell as he began to chant his Dargelionna; however, the chant had...changed?

Catherina's eyes widened as she watched through the camera as her guard was being melted against the barrier of Clive's Dargelionna. But something else caught her eyes: a large statue-like figure emerged from the ground right behind Clive... A statue of Sylvia praying with her eyes closed as tears flowed down her face... Who the hell was this lady? She thought to herself.

Dargelionna: Lacrimosa

The face of the lady contorted into a mix of agony and pain as she let out a guttural scream as if she was being shocked.

The ground that the prison stood on crumbled as Clive's prison grew and grew up to a massive 30 meters wide, which melted a lot of support beams, making the prison collapse on itself.

Catherina fell right through the ground she stood on, falling through all 20 floors that separated her from the ground, but due to the fact she had been chosen by the red gem, she managed to survive the fall, unlike the 2000 other workers and prisoners that were in there with them.

Clive walked out of the rubble without a sign of him breaking a sweat; his Dargelionna had long been deactivated by now. It seemed like he only used it to melt through the prison itself just so he could escape without a care for the collateral it would bring to the table. He glanced around and froze when he realized just where this prison had been built. He was back on that damned island where he got experimented on...

Catherina could only have the time to look up before she noticed Clive had jumped into the sky before raising his hand into the sky and forming a ball of destruction just like he had done against Kallius. Before launching it directly toward the rubble where Catherina was still stuck under.

Without thinking for a single moment, she let out a roaring scream that shook the ground from how loud it was before using the red gem to transform once more with a quick jab of her hand. She diverted the path of the ball easily. Before giving an eerie smile directly at Clive.

In a quick flash of speed, Catherina lunged directly at Clive with her horns just like a bull charging at someone. Clive quickly grabbed onto her horns and stopped her in her tracks before lifting his knee roughly upward directly into her stomach, launching her right in the sky before aiming the index finger of his normal hand toward the ground before chanting "Repulsion" to send himself flying upward directly at Catherina, where he unsheathed Sylvia's sword to swing directly at her neck.

However, Catherina was already ready with her own attack.

Angle Cut

The same attack she had used on Astaroth all those years ago, now using it on Clive. The sword was cut in half. The only remnant of memory that Clive had of his dead wife was now gone by the hand of his so-called sister. But this did not stop him at all; he used the momentum of his swing to spin himself midair before grabbing the string of his metal arm and pulling it, revealing the cannon extension hidden inside. Catherina immediately understood what the contraption was able to do, so she lunged for Clive's metallic arm in the hope of stopping him from firing it, but she was way too slow.

Clive aimed directly at her chest and fired, which sent out a ball of fire directly at Catherina, which did not hurt her, but it did give Clive an opening due to her being distracted. He quickly went behind her using his gravitational manipulation and sent out a strong right hook directly at the back of her neck, which sent her flying right into the ground and knocked the red gem off her chest, making her go back to her human form.

Clive approached her from behind slowly, still holding the broken sword of his wife, ready to attack if she did. He was showing mercy in a way. Something that was truly human. But something felt weird in him; he never saw himself as human. He wasn't, after all. He was infected. A genetically modified human from the particles that were left in the battle of the stars...but since the whole scanner thing that happened at the HQ. He can't seem to stop thinking about what he truly was. Finally standing in front of his adoptive sister, if he can even call her that anymore, he asked her a simple question.

''Why are you doing this?''

Catherina let out a soft and weak chuckle. She had lost this battle after all. She slowly looked up at Clive before answering him.

"Because I'm doing what is right. Astaroth showed me the truth...''

Clive sighed and decided to spare his sister for now; he had been able to take her down vastly easily, so he knew that if she decided to be a pain again, he could just beat her once more, so instead of finishing her off right now, he turned around and walked back to the headquarters, where he announced everyone of Markus's death before heading for his room to sleep after everything that had happened.
