The Demon Realm’s Greatest Spender: Origins

What This Spendthrift Does All Day

What This Spendthrift Does All Day

Oct 19, 2025

After the war and months of rebuilding,
the **Chalice of Emberlight** had regained its former glory.
The roster had climbed back to a full hundred members—
every single one an elite demon, carefully selected.
From a crumbling guild of nobodies to a name whispered with respect,
it was almost hard to believe the transformation.

That morning, **Jexy Bakian** finally returned from what he called
“an extended period of rest”—
others called it a drinking tour.

He stepped into the guild hall, glanced out the back window,
and saw the dormitory complex he’d funded.
The buildings were lively, crowded, and—apparently—full.

“Already packed?” he muttered, raising a brow.
He walked around the grounds, inspecting.
Every room was occupied; some members had even set up tents outside.
Jexy sighed. “Tch. No class at all.”

Without another word, he turned and left the guild again.
No one knew where he went.

Hours later, he reappeared—
this time with a thick stack of land deeds under his arm.
Behind him followed a crew of contractors and magical machines.

Guildmaster **Lyssara Veinflare** came out of the task office, frowning.
“What are you doing this time?”

“Oh, nothing much,” Jexy replied easily.
“Just bought the plots of land around the guild.
Everything within three blocks, basically.”

Lyssara blinked. “You what?”

He smiled. “Dorms were getting cramped.
Problem solved.”

He spread out several detailed blueprints across the table.
“Eight new dormitories. Each one unique.
A black-stone forge tower, a meditation hall,
a shadow-bound complex for the nocturnals…
You get the idea. Luxury with variety.”

Lyssara bent over the drawings.
Every line was precise—mana-flow schematics,
heat-channel balance, ventilation runes—
it was professional work.

Then Jexy casually dropped several heavy pouches of gold and mana crystals onto the table.
“That should cover it. You handle the rest.”

Before anyone could answer, he turned to leave.

Lyssara stared at his back, speechless.
He wasn’t lazy—he clearly thought everything through—
but he’d just dump money and disappear again.
It was infuriating… and oddly admirable.

Just as he reached the door, her voice called out.
“Wait.”

He stopped and looked over his shoulder. “Hm?”

Lyssara crossed her arms.
“You’re always going out. What do you even do all day?
Do you know how rarely you show up here?”

Jexy froze for a moment, then smirked.
“…What, you want me to stay here with you every day?”

Her face went crimson.
“You—You idiot! That’s not what I meant!”
She turned away sharply.
“I mean this guild has become what it is thanks to you.
If you’ve got time, at least stick around instead of vanishing!”

Jexy shrugged. “Outside’s more fun.
What’s there to do here, anyway?”

Lyssara inhaled slowly, fighting for patience.
“Fine. Then today I’m coming with you.”

He blinked. “You’re what?”

“I’m going to see for myself what you do all day.”

Jexy nearly choked. “Hey, hold on—
if you come with me, what am I supposed to do?”

“I don’t care,” she said flatly.
“Today I’m going to find out—”

She lifted her chin, eyes blazing with resolve.

“—what this spendthrift actually does all day!!!”

Jexy Bakian should have been the next great Demon Lord.
Instead, he became the biggest disappointment in the entire Demon Realm.

Born with infinite mana and permanent no-chant casting—abilities every magician dreams of—Jexy could have conquered nations.
But after realizing his grandfather is the infamous “Soul of Ruin,” a literal world-ending demon, Jexy decides there’s only one logical solution:

Don’t work. Don’t fight. Don’t care.

Now branded as the Spoiled Heir, Jexy spends his days drinking, gambling, dodging political meetings, and driving his family’s advisors insane.
His loyal succubus maid, Freya Monar, keeps trying to make him act “like a proper noble.”
He keeps pretending not to hear her.

Unfortunately, trouble keeps finding him anyway—duels, demon tournaments, overdramatic heroes, and the occasional holy crusade.
And somehow, every time he tries to avoid chaos, he ends up in the center of it.

The Demon Realm calls him a disgrace.
His enemies call him a joke.
But when things get serious, everyone learns the same painful truth—
the laziest man in the underworld is also the most overpowered idiot alive.
