Lisa got out of her car and Luke headed out, his face twisted in anger. On seeing Lisa, he stood still, his eyes blazing with fury. Lisa walked up to him, knowing he was waiting for her.
"Lisa, you're turning things into a problem," Luke said, his voice low and menacing. "Why did you go to the opposing party's campaign and take a picture?" he demanded, his anger simmering just below the surface.
Lisa tried to explain, but Luke didn't give her the chance. "This marriage is a damn contract, and I think you're forgetting your place by causing trouble," he snapped. "Do you know the consequences of your actions? Things are already moving fast; don't spoil it. Dad might be sanctioned. Taking pictures of their campaign when you're his daughter-in-law is like spying on their strategy."
Luke's words hung in the air, his anger and frustration palpable. Just as he was about to continue, a trembling voice spoke up, interrupting the tense moment between them.
"Wait, Contract, Contract what?" Tina's voice trembled with confusion and concern. She had decided to see Lisa no matter what and had waited outside the house until Lisa drove in. She snuck in, dodging the guards until she stumbled upon Luke and Lisa's heated conversation.
As she tried to move closer to listen in, a guard caught her, holding her in a tight grip and trying to drag her away. Luke, seemingly oblivious to the commotion, got into his car and sped off without a second glance.
"Lisa yelled at the guard to let her sister go," her voice firm and authoritative. The guard hesitated before releasing Tina, who looked far from happy.
Lisa grasped Tina's hand and pulled her inside, her grip firm but gentle. Tina's eyes were wide with shock as she demanded, "Contract what, Lisa? What contract are you into?" Her voice was laced with worry and confusion.
Lisa's expression was unreadable as she swiftly assessed their surroundings. Without a word, she dropped the bag Tina had brought and pulled her sister into her room, shutting the door behind them. The sudden change in environment seemed to snap Lisa
Tina looked around the room, her eyes taking in the opulent decor. "You have separate rooms," she observed, a small chuckle escaping her lips. "You never loved him?" she asked, her tone laced with curiosity and concern.
"Your marriage is a contract?" she repeated, her voice rising in incredulity. "Lisa, why did you hide it from us?" Tina's eyes searched Lisa's face, trying to understand the situation.
As the truth began to sink in, Tina's expression changed from confusion to shock. "Wait, you actually did tell us, but we didn't believe you," she said, pacing back and forth in the room. Her mind was racing, trying to process the revelation.
Lisa tried to calm her down, but Tina was determined to get to the bottom of things. "Tell me everything, Lisa," she demanded. "Or I'll confront the Wilsons myself and ask for an explanation." Her voice was firm, and her eyes flashed with determination.
Lisa knew she had no choice but to reveal the truth to her sister. She took a deep breath and began to recount all she had been going through. As Tina listened, her face crumpled, and tears began to roll down her cheeks.
"We sold you to them, Lisa," Tina whispered, her voice barely audible. The two sisters sat together, holding each other as they cried. After they composed themselves, they decided to put aside their emotions and have the meal Tina had brought. Together, they went downstairs, the weight of their shared secret hanging heavy in the air.
As soon as the food touched her tongue, Lisa exclaimed, "I missed this." Tina smiled, happy to see her sister enjoying the meal. The two sisters spent the whole day together, catching up and talking about everything that had been happening.
As Tina prepared to leave, she turned to Lisa and said, "I'm going to visit you whenever I want. It's either they allow me to see you, or I'll go to the media." Lisa shook her head, knowing that wouldn't be necessary.
"It's okay, Tina. You can come anytime," Lisa said, relieved. But she also begged her sister to keep their conversation a secret, especially from their mom. Tina nodded in agreement, and Lisa went back to her room, feeling a sense of relief wash over her.
As Tina made her way out of the house, she encountered Luke in the hallway. Her expression turned cold, and she gave him a dirty, angry look. Luke met her gaze, but Tina didn't back down, her eyes flashing with resentment. Without a word, she turned and walked away, leaving Luke standing alone in the hallway.
