Daniela Rodríguez—that was my name. I always thought I was a boring girl. School and work were everything to me. I never went to parties or got drunk with friends. Since I was little, I’d always been a loner.
It was just school… until I got my first computer. That’s when I became what people called a tech addict. That’s when I discovered The Lady of the Young Vampire.
I’ve always hated and loved that story. I loved the characters and the side plots between the Lindverg brothers and their friends, but I never liked the main storyline… except when I imagined the protagonist getting killed or tortured.
I watched it more than twenty times—so many that I memorized the side plots and their powers. But I could never remember the name of that girl protagonist. I didn’t care.
I was thinking about all that… when I woke up in a place that wasn’t my home.
It was beautiful. Like a greenhouse made of crystal. A lake in the center, surrounded by a forest full of crystal trees and roses. Everything looked so real… and unreal at the same time.
There was no one there. I don’t know how I knew, but I just did.
I stood at the edge of the lake when I saw a light appear above the water. A glowing sphere descended into the lake. I watched it sink.
For some reason, I was so curious I even thought about swimming to see what it was.
So I stepped into the lake… but instead of swimming, I could walk on the water.
I felt like I was in an anime. Haha, the things I think.
I walked until I reached the spot where the light had fallen. From there, a beautiful flower emerged. It looked like a crystal lily.
In the center of the flower was a strange fruit. It was blood-red and looked like it was made of water.
I couldn’t move properly. It felt like I was acting on autopilot.
My hand grabbed the fruit, I brought it to my mouth… and I ate it.
I felt my body heat up. Really heat up. I was boiling. I couldn’t take it. It hurt too much.
For a moment, I felt the heat leave me… like my blood was freezing, but still flowing. My teeth, once sensitive, turned straight and sharp.
In that moment, I remembered my favorite character: Kaius.
I just wanted my mind to focus on something else.
I started thinking about how I wanted to change the story.
I wanted everyone who deserved a happy ending to get one… and those who didn’t, to be cast into limbo.
I wished I had the magic of creation—the kind that was briefly mentioned in the story.
A unique kind of magic… one that could even change fate.
My mind wandered through all of that… until my body couldn’t take it anymore.
And everything went black.
