“Well, thank Brother Wendell’s pantheon of gods for that.” Darric grinned. “I am hungry enough to eat a whole hog and wash it down with a barrel of beer.”

“Aren’t we all?” Ethel rolled her eyes and spat on the ground.

“Easy, Eth.” Genève reached on tip-toe to whisper in her ear. “Let us eat, drink and sleep... and also... get the rest we so dearly need after all we’ve been through the past day.”

Ethel had to agree to her adopted sister’s reasoning. Refreshing themselves was something she could look forward to for certain. 

She narrowed her eyes and nodded at younger woman with the briefest of smiles breaking across her very dry and cracked lips.
