The bitter wind hits our face. Numb feeling of my hands as the white fluff of snow falls from the blanket of the sky—crunch of snow as we step on and the creak of bones Grim’s moving.
“ Rufus, are you sure that the hunter is here?” asks Grim, his tail swaying back and forth, whipping up the snow in the air. The black fur shining against the white snow.
“Well, it makes sense if Chris is hunting an ice wolf to be in the ice forest, Grim,” I scoff. Looking up at the huge wolf beside me, a skull as a head and rib bones showing the pitch black fur with hunting, soulless eyes. As we walk through the forest, it’s too quiet; there are no birds chirping or animals shifting, and it's like they left or have been scared off.
“ Hey, there are tracks up ahead,” growled Grim.
“ Boot prints and paw pants,” I whisper. Kneeling, looking at the paw pant.
“ Yup, there nearby,” I say.
“ Then were are there whisper Grim growling.
We follow the track of the boot and the paw print. We stop at a bush, hiding from the person. Traps everywhere bear traps, a net thing that won’t work hidden in the snow.
“ There he is, Rufus. What are we going to do?” Grim whisper. He lowered his head.
“ We talk it out with him see why he doing this if not then we well fight him but don’t get your hope up” I whisper back. Maybe it's a bad idea to bring him with me. I feel like it was a bad idea. Should have brought Windy, be she would blend in a bit more. Then agin he hasn’t been out of the land lot thought.
The hunter turns around, hearing whispering. His jacket sways around, hitting the snow. His wepen up. Ice wolf also looks her white fur sparkling in the powder tiny snow flake patten on her fur. Scared, icy blue eyes glowing.
“Who’s there?” Chris shout.
We walk out of the bush with my sword at hand. I stop a couple of feet in front of him. Chris backed up a bit, grabbing a something and throwing it at us. It whispers past us, rushing in my face, and hits the tree behind Grim and me. We turn to see what it is. It is a stick.
“ Relly a stick a hunter,” scoff Grim.
“ Hey, quit it, Grim,” I say. Turning around, I looked up at him.
“ What do you want?” Shouted Chris. He slowly walked back toward the ice wolf. She watching them her tail waying ears flatten scard. Rufus spots her and then looks back at the hunter.
“ Im Rufus. This is Grim,” I say. Waving toward us.
“ Agin, why are you here? You're not hunters,” says Chris, staring at us, looking then spotting the gurden and spirt symbol. A symbol of the rescuers.
“ Wait, you are the people to rescue these creatures. Why?” Chris asked.
“ Spot on, bud now, can you not capture the wolf?” I answer, shugging. I point at her.
How can I convince him to let her go? I don’t want to fight him or maybe scare him off. The wolf looks scared, like she has been running away. I look over at Grim, who is losing patsrts pacing back and forth. Walking behind me, waiting messing up the moss. I look around the soft light of the sun rising purple reds, yellow and orange strike. We been traveling for days tracking down them.
He spinted “ What do you mean I not going to let her go,”.
“ Well, that won’t do,” growl Grim. Moving forward slowly.
“ Grim stop,” I demanded. Grim stopped looking back at me. I shake my head.
“ Well Rufus, you need to fight me then,” He cleared. Smoke flew past us. Grim went in and jumped on him. He rard in his face reak of death in Grims breaths. Chris nock off Grim. He slammed the tree, and it shook, echoing around them. Chris linge at me I. The loud snap fire and lighting came in his hands. He swiped his hand to the side fire, and lighting shot out, building a wall between us and them.
“ Grim, get the wolf,” I yelled. Grim runs to the wolf and picks her up, then runs to safety. He put her down and stepped in front of her.
Chris went behind me, hitting me in the back. Smoke rises around him. I hear footsteps thump thump, closing my eyes listening to them. Then a lighting strike comes down right beside Chris, almost hitting him. I step to the side out of the smoke, seeing the hunter. After a while, the smoke disper.sed Chris on the floor past out.
“Let's go, Grim and the wolf,” I say. We walk back home, the snow wolf behind us still scared. I need to calm her down, but how?
“ Hey, what's your name?” I ask.
“ My name is Snowy,” she answered. Lefting her hand to me. “ Where are we going?” asked Snowy.
“ Where going home” I say.
