As Clive walked closer and closer to her headquarters, he noticed something off. He could not feel her presence. His waver seemed to allow him to feel people from a distance...but he never could feel her. Even when they first met.
Clive let out a small sigh before using his four-eyes abilities to look into the future, only 5 minutes maximum, to see if Syndrielle had planned an ambush, but...no? The headquarters seemed empty. Something was wrong.
Clive approached even more until he was right in front of the metal door, and there was still no one around. Clive's eyes darted around him.
Suddenly a hand came out right through the fabric of space and ripped it open, and there stood Syndrielle; her nails were glowing with a strange energy. Clive quickly sent a ball of destruction right through her, but...she did not even dodge it, and her body was intact? Well, not completely. Now it seemed like some black matter was onto where his ball of destruction was...and the color of that black matter...oh god... She's the reason Markus's hand was different when they fought... She had given him a new arm using black matter...
Dargelionna: Lacrimosa
Dargelionna: Emergence of Darkness
They both immediately unleashed their Dargelionnas at the same exact time, making their barriers clash against each other as none of their effects were able to fully materialize yet. Clive immediately lunged straight at Syndrielle, knowing he could not let her drop her barrier and nullify his ability like last time. He quickly sent a kick straight toward her neck. However, Syndrielle dodged it in the blink of an eye and launched a punch directly at Clive's gut before gripping his metal arm and ripping it off and crushing it in her hand, rendering it useless. Clive stumbled back, coughing blood from her punch, before freezing when Syndrielle destroyed the last reminder he had of his friend, again. Clive quickly unsheathed his sword to cut off his arm once more just to heal it fully again, which made Syndrielle chuckle at how reckless Clive was.
He did not care about hurting himself if it meant keeping on fighting.
Clive's eyes widened as he saw his barrier start to fail dominance in their battle of will. His will was growing weak. But Clive's determination didn't waver. He ran up to Syndrielle and grabbed her face in an instant before chanting the same attack that had killed Markus. Black Death. But he did not let her just choke on her blood like he had done with Markus. No no, he kept on going. He sent a powerful uppercut to lift her off the ground before using his repulsion ability at point blank of her torso to send her crashing through the metal door of her headquarters. Without wasting a second, he lunged behind her before she even had the time to land on the ground and stabbed his sword into her back, using it as a lever to spin her around midair and slam her right into the wall, pulling back his sword at the same moment.
Syndrielle let out a chuckle as she got up from the wall, seemingly not even injured or bothered by his attacks. She was the second general, after all. Simple attacks wouldn't do shit to her. She might even be stronger than Catherina Kushin herself. She might be the strongest woman born in history.
Before Clive could even perceive an attack coming, Syndrielle slashed with her nails of matter at the fabric of space itself, cutting space itself in half. Clive was cut in half; a mountain was cut. The moon was cut. Nothing could stop this slice, Jeez she almost hit me.
Clive, of course, did not die from it; he had survived far worse, but... this attack had made him pass out from how powerful it was.
Clive opened his eyes; he wasn't next to Syndrielle anymore...no, he was on that damned island...back in the experiment lab. Was he really having a flashback in the middle of a battle? If this was Jujutsu Kaisen, he would have known he was done for, but this isn't that manga.
Clive seemed to be strapped to a table as two scientists were preparing some kind of instrument for him. A needle? Aw hell nah, not a damn needle. Clive hated needles.
He broke out of his restraint and slammed the needle into the scientist's face before grabbing the other scientist and ripping his jaw out. Clive let out a hard sigh before walking out of the room where a file was. His file.
Name: Not Given By Ellis Crane Yet
AKA: G.C.E Number 0003
Born: [Redacted]
Age: 17 years old
Sex: Male
Hair: Grey
Eyes: Red
Clive froze as he read the first page, where his information stood. What the hell did G.C.E. stand for... Whatever. He kept on reading.
The subject's behavior suggests that we have created the person to take the role he is attributed. This will be wonderful. We are currently at our last step of our program before we are able to let him out into the wild to fulfill his duty. We just need to give him that drug that will let him control his emotions, or else we don't know what will happen to him.
Clive took a step back, dropping the file as he realized just why his mind was so broken; it wasn't even his fault... The people who created him just never had the time to give him what he missed. He was incomplete.
Clive came back to his senses and healed his cut half standing up in front of Syndrielle again, not even minding the fact that she had cut the damn moon in half. He seemed emotionless now. He understood he had a purpose. He knew what his creator wanted, and he knew that despite him not wanting to fulfill it. He already was doing so by being here.
Syndrielle did not even manage to start blinking before Clive was already behind her; it seemed like his revelation gave him a power-up. He gripped her by the back of her neck and used his waver as their Dargelionnas kept on battling. The scales of will seemed to shift as Clive's barrier seemed to grow stronger and stronger, which made Syndrielle panic slightly as she gripped the fabric of space itself and slammed it against Clive, launching him right out of the barriers in an attempt to force her Dargelionna to win to get her power-up.
But Clive had other plans. He launched himself right back toward her using his repulsion, making himself break the sound barrier as he crashed into her body, which sent her right into her own barrier. Crack. It cracked, which made Clive smirk for the first time. He wasn't fighting her for Markus anymore; he was having fun.
Syndrielle could only choke out blood as she crashed against the barrier of her will; she stumbled to the ground before regarding Clive and asking him a single question. Who the fuck even was he? How was he so strong? He was a nobody the last time they met. What the hell changed? Okay, maybe more than a single question.
Clive smirked before answering her.
My creators were obsessed with the Battle of the Stars... Hell, they even found the body of one of the two gods... They took some of its DNA to try and recreate it so that they could manipulate it, and there was born...me.
Syndrielle could not believe her ears. She had been fighting a god...well, a replica of a god this whole time... It explained everything. Hell, it could even explain why Clive passed as a human back in the Hunter HQ, wink wink.
Syndrielle knew there was only one attack she could do to possibly have a chance to kill Clive and fulfill her mission and possibly gain the heart of Catherina.
You were married to Kallius, weren't you? Clive says with a nasty smirk. He was taunting her. He then proceeded to point to his four eyes, which made Syndrielle freeze for a second... Sure, she didn't truly love Kallius; she wanted Catherina instead this whole time, but... that man did entertain her days... She seemed to be absorbing some kind of energy before saying a single chant.
Black Matter: Atomic Burst
In that single second, An explosion 92 times stronger than the Tsar Bomba exploded; it ripped through everything, and Syndrielle was no more. But Clive was...not even injured. He had used Syndrielle's ability to nullify to not even be affected by her attack.
Syndrielle had died thinking she had done her mission.
