Rabbit Blade

Chapter #6: Attack of The Demon Hawks

Chapter #6: Attack of The Demon Hawks

Oct 25, 2025

Out in the open fields, Genghis Quack stood across from Sabito.

“Okay, you will now learn the way of the Yazi,” Genghis Quack said as Sabito looked at him.

        “I can’t wait,” Sabito said.

“I can tell,” Genghis Quack said.

Genghis Quack stepped over to Sabito.

“The first thing you will do is meditate,” Genghis Quack said.

       “Are you serious?” Sabito asked.

“Yes, I’m serious. Meditation helps with concentration, and that will be key to our training, plus there is something I need to confirm,” Genghis Quack explained.

Sabito sat down on the ground.

“Well, if it helps, I’ll do it,” Sabito said.

Sabito closes his eyes and begins to meditate.

Genghis Quack watched as Sabito began to meditate.

“Hmm, I was sure the rabbit would argue with me, but he hasn’t. This rabbit surely is odd,” Genghis Quack said.

     Genghis Quack smirked.

In the distance, Genghis Quack heard a loud keerah.

Genghis Quack glared in that direction.

Genghis Quack looked over at Sabito.

“That’s got to be those darn demon hawks,” Genghis Quack thought.

Genghis Quack decided to run over to the nearest tree.

Genghis Quack closed his eyes and looked around using his senses.

Winters and his group of demon hawks were making their way to the town.

Genghis Quack quickly opened his eyes.

“They’re coming this way,” Genghis Quack said.

Genghis Quack jumped down from the tree.

Genghis Quack looked over at Sabito. “I’ll be able to sense his aura if it comes out during his meditation, but right now I have to get back to the town and save the others,” he said.

         Genghis Quack took off running.

         Genghis Quack drew his katana.

“These monsters called demon hawks have another thing coming if they think they can just come in here and cause trouble; they have another thing coming, plus I won’t allow them to find Sabito,” Genghis Quack thought.

Winters and the other demon hawks landed in the trees outside of the town.

“I can sense his presence here,” Celestina said.

         “Good,” Winters said.

One of the other demon hawks saw Genghis Quack coming in the distance.

“Something’s heading straight for us,” one of the demon hawks said.

Winters glanced over. “It looks like a duck,” he said.

Celestina looked surprised. “A yazi (Duck in another language) is here?” she asked because it was said that the Yazi Clan was wiped out a long time ago.

Winters smirked. “No matter what he is, if he's in our way, then we’ll just have to remove him,” Winters said.

Celestina looked at Winters. “Lord Mangus is right, you have a bad habit of underestimating your enemies,” she pointed out.

Winters scoffed. “That’s because no matter who I face off against, I know they pale in comparison to me,” Winters explained.

Celestina sighed. “I’m just saying you need to be a bit more mindful of who you underestimate,” she said.

Winters looked away. “Enough!” he said.

“Let’s take to the grounds,” Winters said as he landed with the other demon hawks.

         Celestina landed alongside Winters.

Genghis Quack jumped out of the tree.

Celestina and Winters glared at Genghis Quack.

“Listen, foolish duck, we don’t want any problems with you if you get out of our way or tell us where we can find the rabbit known as Sabito Lagomorph,” Celestina explained.

Genghis Quack glared at the demon hawks.

“Heh, so it’s true that you did wipe out the Rabbit Burrow,” Genghis Quack said.

         Genghis Quack clenched his katana.

“You killed a friend of mine, and now you want his grandson? Hehe, I have nothing to say to you,” Genghis Quack said as he pointed his katana toward Celestina and Winters.

Winters smirked. “Haha! You should’ve taken her words, old duck, because if you DON’T get out of the way. We will make an example out of you, and besides, you can’t tell us the rabbit isn’t here because we can see far distances,” Winters explained.

“Happy to disappoint you about something, you’ll never get to him,” Genghis Quack said.

Winters smirked. “I like his spirit. I will fight him myself, don’t interfere," he said.

Genghis Quack glared. “It looks like I found the one who forgot his brains,” he said.

Winters flew at Genghis Quack. “ENOUGH TALK!” he shouted.

Celestina reached out her hand. “You idiot! Winters!” she shouted.

Genghis Quack jumped back and swung his katana.

Winters dodged and kicked Genghis Quack in the back.

Genghis Quack slid back and did a flip to land, facing Winters.

          Genghis Quack glared at Winters.

         Winters flew toward Genghis Quack.

Genghis Quack jumped up, kicking Winters in the face.

         Winters fell back.

         Winters stood up.

Genghis Quack clenched his katana in his hands.

Celestina folded her arms, watching the battle. “Winters is such a fool, our ONLY job was supposed to be us searching for the rabbit’s location, and we did that, but he has to be stubborn and get into an altercation with a warrior like this duck,” she thought.

          Genghis Quack swung his katana.

Winters tried to fly up, but Genghis Quack put slash marks on his right wing.

Winters winced. “KEEEEARRR!” Winters screamed in pain.

Winters fell back against the tree.

Genghis Quack stood in front of Winters.

“Hmph! You talk tough, but where it counts is the strength to back it up, and you don’t have it,” Genghis Quack said.

          Genghis Quack clenched his katana.

Winters looked angry. “The fact I’m rendered useless by this duck, this rabbit’s power made us run, and now this duck!? I simply hate this,” Winters thought.

          Genghis Quack aimed his katana.

Celestina flew in. “KEEEEAAARR!” she shouted.

         Genghis Quack quickly turned around.

Celestina smacked Genghis Quack with her wings.

        Genghis Quack fell back.

Genghis Quack’s eyes widened as he began to sense Sabito’s aura.

“Darn! He’s almost done meditating. I need to hurry and get these annoying creatures out of here,” Genghis Quack thought.

        Celestina’s beak started to glow.

She opened her mouth and launched a blast of light.

Genghis Quack quickly grabbed his katana.

Genghis Quack swung his katana, slicing the blast in half.

A large ray of light engulfed the area, blinding Genghis Quack as Celestina flew, kicking Genghis Quack in the face, knocking him against the tree.

Celestina grabbed Winters and flew back to Lord Magnus with the other demon hawks.

Genghis Quack stood up and threw his katana, stabbing one of the demon hawks in the chest.

Genghis Quack had a cut on his face near his left eye.

The light went dim, and Genghis Quack glanced over at the demon hawk he caught.

Genghis Quack pulled the katana out of the chest of the demon hawk that dissolved into an aura, becoming one with the planet.

Genghis Quack sighed. “Wretched creatures,” he said.

Genghis Quack winced a bit in pain from the battle.

Genghis Quack made his way back to Sabito.

Genghis Quack puts his katana in the holster.

Genghis Quack looked surprised by what he saw.

Sabito had a red aura surrounding him.

“This young rabbit is the one that Minetaka was talking about,” Genghis Quack said.

         Sabito opened his eyes.

        Sabito’s eyes were bloodshot red.

“The Ichor Rabbit,” Genghis Quack said.
