- Madelyne, how was the talk you had with Henry last night? Grace asked with some intrigue. Since… well, a big scandal broke out.

- Honestly, he seemed like a very rude young man - I responded, without thinking too much about it.

- And weren't you a little rude to him too, Madelyne?- Grace replied. She paused for a moment, as if hesitating whether he should continue - The thing is… his dad hit him.

- What did you say? - I exclaimed, sitting up suddenly. I would never have imagined something like this. Henry… beaten by his own father.

- His father seemed quite irritated and furious, maybe Henry doesn't feel comfortable with the commitment either - Grace paused as she stood up - It's just a guess, but I think you should be nicer to him, think about it a little, Madelyne.

I was really intrigued by what Grace had told me. I was probably a little rude to Henry, and I couldn't help but feel bad about what had happened the day before.

Suddenly, I heard soft footsteps on the grass, until a shadow covered me from the sun. I looked up and there was Henry, standing in front of me.

Without saying a word, he sat next to me. His presence was calm, if a little distant. By accident, his fingers brushed my hand. The contact was so unexpected that we both jumped and removed our hands immediately.

- Sorry, Madelyne... it was an accident - Henry said, nervously and with a slight blush on his cheeks.

- It's okay, don't worry - I responded, putting my hands on my chest. I felt a little uncomfortable, although not entirely in a bad way.

- And how are you feeling today? - he asked, trying to sound casual - Is your ankle better? 

—Yes, much better. Thank you for asking - I replied shyly.

Silence enveloped us again, but this time it wasn't uncomfortable... just still. Henry took one of the notebooks Grace had left and began to draw. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, curious. His concentration was such that he barely noticed my gaze.

I could distinguish the shapes of a ship forming between its lines.

- Your drawing is very awesome! - I exclaimed surprised - Do you like to draw, Henry? Could you make one for me?
