Chapter 3: Training Is Best

Chapter 3: Training Is Best

Nov 10, 2025

Scene – Inside Tanishk’s house, underground training area.
Tanishk stood in the middle of the wide underground chamber he had created. Around him lay broken golems shattered across the ground. His hands were covered in stone armor shaped like sharp-edged blades.

Tanishk (thinking): Ahh… haa… ugh… finally defeated them all.

Tanishk: “These blade gloves worked great. Good thing I learned how to make them. Hmm…” [thinking] “Maybe I can create more items like this — armor, weapons, and… wait, can I use ores too? Just like I use the ground element — since ores are part of the earth too.”

Scene – Tanishk runs outside.

Tanishk: “I won’t know unless I try. I still have some money — I’ll buy some ores and test it out.”

He takes a few silver coins from his bag and heads to the marketplace. There, he buys some iron and returns home.

Scene – Underground training area.
Tanishk: “Okay!” [He places the iron on the ground.] “Let’s try making something with this. Hmm… let’s start with a small iron rabbit.”

He stretches his hand toward the iron. A green-colored magic circle appears beneath it. The metal begins to reshape — bending, merging, and glowing — until it transforms into a tiny iron rabbit.

Tanishk: “Wooow! Yes, I did it! Huh? Wait…” [sudden realization] “But everyone with ground skills can probably do this, right? Oh man! If anyone can do this, then what should I do to make myself unique — or powerful? Sure, I can get physically strong, but that’s not enough…” [sad tone] “Anyway, let’s continue training.”

He summons a few more golems and begins another battle. As he swings his stone blades at one golem, the iron rabbit suddenly jumps in and kicks the golem — smashing it to pieces in a single hit.

Tanishk: “Huh?! Are you kidding me?! A rabbit is stronger than me?! It takes me three or four hits to break one, and it destroys them in one kick?! What a joke! I’m done!”

He storms out of the training room, angry and frustrated, and collapses onto the sofa. Slowly, he drifts off to sleep.

Scene – Some time later.
Evening has fallen. Tanishk wakes up and sees the iron rabbit sitting quietly near the sofa.

Tanishk: “Oh, you’re still here? It’s already evening. ‘Retire.’”

The moment he says that, the rabbit vanishes — leaving no trace behind.

Tanishk: “What?! Even the iron disappeared?! Tch… I was better off back in my world.”

He sighs, goes to the kitchen, cooks some food, eats, and heads to his bedroom.
(Note: Tanishk’s house is located near a forest.)

Scene – Midnight.
“Crack…”
A faint sound echoes. Tanishk’s eyes snap open.

Tanishk (thinking): Someone’s inside the house… [tense and serious]

He gets up quietly. Suddenly, a shadow appears behind him. Sensing the danger, he quickly moves aside — and sees a creature emerge from the darkness.

Tanishk: “A… goblin?!”

Goblin: “Chee!”

Tanishk immediately activates his stone blade gloves. The goblin lunges at him, holding a crude knife made of stone. Tanishk dodges and strikes back — his blade piercing straight through the goblin’s head. The creature drops dead on the floor.

Tanishk: “Haaah… that was close. It broke the window and got inside. If I hadn’t woken up, I might not even be alive right now.”

But before he can relax, more goblins appear from the broken window, rushing at him with their stone knives.

Tanishk quickly raises ground barriers and walls to defend himself.

Tanishk: “Stone Cut!”

From beneath the floor, sharp stones shoot upward, impaling the goblins instantly. One by one, they all fall dead.

Tanishk: “Man… good thing I reacted in time. Hmm…” [thinking] “Can I sell these at the guild? I mean, that’s how it works in most isekai, right? Ahh…” [yawns] “I’ll think about it tomorrow.”

He goes back to bed.

Scene – Next morning, at the Guild.
Tanishk walks into the building. At the counter stands a cheerful female receptionist.

Tanishk: “Excuse me.”

Mala: “Yes? My name is Mala. How can I help you today?”

Tanishk: “So… Mala, can I sell some goblins here? I mean, I’ve got a few.”

Mala: “I see. Yes, of course — if you only wish to sell, you can.”

Tanishk: “Thank you.”

Tanishk waves his hand, and suddenly, a floating transparent box appears beside him — glowing in shades of yellow, pink, and white. The box opens, and seven dead goblins fall to the ground.

Mala’s eyes widen in total shock.

Mala: “Whaaaat?!” [loud gasp]

The sudden outburst draws everyone’s attention toward them.

Mala: “Y–You have Ancient Power?!” [trembling voice]

Tanishk: “Nope.”

Mala: “Then… you have Void Power!?” [utterly shocked]

Tanishk: “Actually, no. I don’t have void either. I only have elemental power — and even that’s just one element.”

Mala: “Huh? Are you kidding me? No one has just one element!”

Tanishk: “What?!”

Mala: “I mean, everyone has at least two elements. If you really have only one, this would be the first time in history!” [half joking, half amazed]

Tanishk: “Wait… does that mean no one — like, literally no one — ever has a single element? Everyone gets two or more?”

Mala: “Yup. Either two or more, or sometimes none — but never just one.”

Tanishk (thinking, shocked): Are you kidding me?! That means I’m even more useless than I thought! [sad and teary tone]

Mala: “Anyway, for seven goblins, you’ll receive one gold coin. Here you go.”

Mala hands him a gold coin and takes the goblin bodies away.

Tanishk: “By the way… may I ask, why were you so shocked earlier?”

Mala: “Oh right, I almost forgot. If you don’t have Void or Ancient power… then what kind of power did you use just now?”

Tanishk: “Elemental power.”

Mala: “What!!”

Mala (thinking): Five elemental powers… this is only the second person I’ve ever seen who could use five elements in one lifetime…

Tanishk: “Anyway, I’ll be going now.”

Mala: “Yes… of course.”

Tanishk walks away, while Mala stands there, still stunned, watching him leave.
