They got to Aiden's house, knocked on the door, and there stood Amy. "Hey, Amy" said Sam as she let them in. "So, we should probably grab some food and water" said Sam "Agreed. I'll go look in the kitchen" said Aiden "Where are you going?" asked Amy as she followed Aiden to the kitchen "Nowhere." said Aiden "Well, can I join you on your journey to nowhere?" "No." "Why not? You know I'll be all alone at home without you" "Oh, right. Yeah, you can come with us" "Hey Aiden, you finished in here?" asked Sam as he walked into the kitchen "Yeah, almost. Also, Amy's coming" "Okay". Off to Madison's house they go. Once they got there they went around the back to let themselves in the house, to get sleeping bags, and maybe some bikes because the ones Aiden had were all rusted and old. Only Madison went in so she could move in, and out quickly. She came back with six sleeping bags and a backpack of her own. "Now, bikes should be out back but my parents might have thrown them away last week" said Madison as she walked to the backyard "Dang it. They did throw them away!" "Well, I guess Oliver's house is our last hope for bikes, or we'll have to walk about half the way" said Aiden "Well, let's head to his house, and leave this place.". At Oliver's house, he didn't have enough bikes and the ones he had were too small for them "Walking it is.". After his house, they headed to the bus stop, they were off, they were exploring, and they were free. But, were they really? Or were they just stepping into a bigger cell? Their mission was to go to New York City but, they lived in Virginia. "Ok, so we want to go to NYC, right?" asked Sam "Yeah" replied the rest of the group "But, how are we going to get there? We live in Virginia, and all we have for transportation is the bus and walking!" said William "We'll make it work". The bus ride was boring and long with each stop people were filing out of the bus until they were the last ones on the bus. Then, "Ding! Last stop, Annapolis then we go back!" the speaker boomed through the empty bus and the group got off. "Okay. Now we walk." said Sam as the bus turned around and drove away "To where?" asked Aiden "The next capital, Harrisburg" "But that could take days!" "If we want to get to NY, we have to. It's our only chance and I have to save up money" "So, where will we stay during the night?" "That's why we have the sleeping bags" "On the street?! We're sleeping on the street?" "Hotels are expensive and they might call the police if they see a group of kids by themselves" "Come on guys, we have to keep moving". Once it got dark, they stopped walking to go to sleep for the night. The first night was cold and dark, the hard ground forced into their backs, pain piercing through-. Okay, enough of that, back to the story. In the morning nobody wanted to get up and walk more so they just laid there for a couple minutes until Sam got up. "Alright guys, we need to get up or we'll never make it to NY" "Yeah, yeah, we're up" said Aiden as the rest of the group got up with him "Well, we should get a move on if everyone is awake" said Sam "Agreed" said Aiden. "So" said Sam "Another day of walking, is it?". It was only six in the morning when they started walking. "The earlier, the better!" Right? Wrong. Everyone was tired and not being very productive, but about another hour later they were back to their normal selves. Walking along the road, making jokes to each other, just being kids. Except, they weren't anymore. They're traumatized, matured, and have seen someone bleed out to death. These aren't kids anymore, they're troops. They're The Little Troops. Time skip to about a day and a half later, they've made it to Harrisburg. As they were walking up to the city limits of Harrisburg, a rapid dog ran at them and charged for Amy first.
