A few hours later Sage made her way into the woods. Just as last time she was there before Fennel. She took a moment to breathe in and enjoy the fresh air. She has entertained suitors up until now. It was truly tiresome.
Only a few minutes passed until Fennel showed up. This time he brought cookies.
“Hello my love” he hummed as he sat down next to her. He pointed at the bag next to her. “What have you gotten there my love?”
Sage grinned “scandalous poems my lord, do you fancy them~” her grin grew even brighter.
Fennel couldn't help but grin as well. “My aren't we naughty again?” He had to chuckle “whatever it is I do fancy them.”
She handed him a small book, it was filled with dried herbs, a few sketches here and there but mostly poems. “I promised you to let you read some, didn't I?” Her grin grew into a smile.
Fennel raised his brows, rather astonished to actually hold her poetry book. “Why..thank you” he replied and happily looked through the pages. Each page enticed him more and more. “May I read all of them or is there anything you wish to keep private?” For as much as he was excited he wished to respect her privacy. After all, everything seemed quite personal.
Sage shook her head. “You may read all. Actually if you wish you can borrow it, I doubt you will be able to read all just now”
Fennel smiled brighter but nodded “thank you love, I will. And thank you for entrusting me with your book.”
Sage rested her head against Fennel's as he started to read through the first few pages. They were poetries about winter time, how the air grew colder but the hearts bloomed.
He truly loved the way she wrote and was able to translate emotion through words.
Sage on the other hand made use of the time and continued embroidering. She was currently working on an embroidery of Blackberry playing with apples. It was a bit hard to manoeuvre with her head laying on Fennel's, but she refused to move.
They remained silently like this for about 2 hours as suddenly Anne called for Sage “Miss dinner is ready” sage sighed but eventually stood up. “I shall see you tomorrow then my love. Keep the book for as long as you wish” and with a last smile she vanished.
Fennel smiled softly and then too made his way back home.
