Daniel was busy in his work when secretary Ray entered with five cv in his hand. "Sir, here are the shorlisted candidates for the supervisor position. Should I call them in for the interview now?"

Daniel closes his laptop and takes the file. "All of them are experienced?"

"Yes sir."

Daniel opens his laptop again "ok then. I am uploading a file. Give them a machine and ask them to fix the errors and upload it in company's drive attached to their pc."

"Ok sir ! Should I give them any time limit ?"

"No need. Tell them to save the file with their full name in block letters."

"Ok sir !" Secretary Ray was leaving the cabin when Daniel calls him again.

"Add Oliver Barrer's co from our company profile to this file."

Secretary Ray looks shocked for a split second before nodding "ok sir !"

Oliver finishes his work around 3 :30 pm. He uploads it on the drive with a yawn. It's still daytime. There is still time to Daniel sir's return. He leans back on the nightstand.

He yawns again. Is it the side effects of medicine or is it the side effect of eating delicious food after a long time, he feels very sleepy.

Oliver looks around the big luxurious room with lazy eyes. Not only this CEO is rich but also has a good taste and a good housekeeper & cook.

Oliver wishes he can afford a cook for himself. He, himself isn't a good cook. Hell, he is a terrible cook. Nobody taught him how to cook. He just learned on his own to keep his stomach full.

So his taste buds are almost dead due to his own cooking. So when he left Nick's apartment and lived in the hotel.. he thought the hotel served the best dishes. But after today ...

He realised why he got a stomachache after eating that hotel's food. He ate expired food in the name of tasty foods.

Oliver slides down from the night stand to the soft pillow. He smiles with almost closed eyes. When he gets a new job, he will hire a cook to cook for him.

Hiring Manager Boston looks at Secretary Ray with hesitant eyes "sir, asked me to select the best two candidates and he added Mr. Barrer cv and file himself ?"

Secretary Ray nods with a light smirk.

"Are the rumours really true ?"

Secretary Ray nods again.

"Then one of the candidates must be Oliver Barrer, right ?"

"If you are intelligent..you should know." Secretary Ray whispers.

Hiring manager removes the sweats of his forehead with a handkerchief "but what if, Sir doesn't like our insinuation. I mean, there is no order to select Mr. Barrer ? Is there ?"

"Just read the file and select the best two." One of the female employee suggests from the side. "Our CEO sleeps with a lot of people but when it comes to company matters, he never plays. Unless he gives you an order to select that new fling, you don't have select him."

Secretary Ray smirks in his mind this time.

"That's right." Hiring manager informs "If CEO wanted to give him the position, he wouldn't have recruitment process started. Maybe, the CEO is also testing Mr.Oliver whether he can pass the exam or not."

"Or what !" The female employee laughs. "Choose the best ones."

"Then I will be back to get the result." Secretary Ray informs the manager before leaving.

The manager starts reading the files one by one with a calm mind. He underlines and highlights the error on his screen from time to time.

It took him almost an hour to review all the files. He lets out a sigh of relief finally "that makes it easy."

The female employee looks up from her screen "what ?"

"One of the best .. infact the best file belongs to Oliver Barrer. He worked in Fusion for so long. So he knew how to do certain things. He doesn't need that beginner's training."

"Makes sense !" Other employee who was interested in the result too chimes in. "So , is Mr. Oliver joining the hq ?"

"Looks like it. Let me report it to Daniel sir. Then I will know for sure."

When Daniel returned form the office, Oliver was in his room, rolling on the bed like a kid.

Daniels stops his steps watching Oliver.

Oliver rolls around for two more minutes before spotting Daniel. He jumps down the bed "sir !"

Daniel walks in eyeing the mess Oliver created.

Oliver smiles thinly. "I am sorry ! I .. will clean it right now." Oliver hides the chips packet behind him hurriedly.

He was bored. He lost his phone with the incident. He used Sir's laptop to edit the file but he can't use it for his personal entertainment. So he just got distracted.

Daniel sighs "no need. Mirium Aunt will clean it. You come down for dinner. I have something to discuss."

Oliver nods hurriedly.

By the time Daniel showered, Oliver cleaned the room himself. He can't just leave his mess for anyone else. It's not in his nature. So, he reached the dinner table at the same time with Daniel.

Mirium serves the dinner with happy smile. Daniel doesn't have any friends. He likes to live alone. Except Mr. Adams, the lawyer friend, there is no one who come to this house.

It's good to see new people sometimes. Specially a well behaved boy like Oliver who isn't greedy or not about Daniel's private life.

Mirium is with Daniel for years. And she has seen people approaching Daniel with intentions. And she knows the lot, when she sees one. Oliver isn't one of them.

Oliver eats the food with an ease this time. He isn't awkward or shy in front of Mirium aunt anymore. Also, he is hungry.

Daniel lets Oliver take few bites before continuing "I have a proposal for you."

Oliver puts away his fork and looks at Daniel "huh ?"

"Five branches, five branches manager and almost fifty staffs all total. Can you manage ?"

Oliver frowns "huh ? Manage what?"

Daniel sits back on his chair. "I have news that some branch Managers are abusing their position. Creating false deadlines, forcing employees to work overtime and many more."

"How do you know that ?" Oliver asks. He didn't tell anyone about the lies Nick told him.

Daniel ignores Oliver's question "So, I am appointing a supervisor who call look over all the branches and assign the tasks directly to the employees."

Oliver nods. That would be really helpful to everyone.

"You are familiar with our software, you have managed our major projects for years, you already got the experience. So, can you manage the supervisor position?"

Oliver blinks. He puts down his fork and points at himself "Me ?"

"Yes you."

Oliver takes in a sharp breath "but why ? I ... You lost your business deal because of me."

"That was an incident. But that has nothing to do with your capabilities."

Oliver pinches himself under the table. He flinches with the pain. He isn't dreaming. The CEO of Fusion, The Daniel Fox is offering him a position in his company again. Which is better than his previous position !

"What's your answer ?"

"I can do it." Oliver nods hurriedly before Daniel changes his mind. He needs this job. He now has lease to pay, he can't stay jobless for long.

Daniel chuckles with Oliver's reaction "Then come to the headquarters tomorrow. We will discuss the employment terms and conditions."

"Thank you ! Thank you so much, sir. I promise I will not let you complain." Oliver claps his hands together in front of Daniel.

"As long as you don't ruin my another branded shirt." Daniel points at Oliver's greasy fingers from food.

Oliver pulls his hands back with a silly smile. "Sorry, sometimes I just use my hand to adjust the food to my liking."

"By that you mean pulling every possible healthy item out of the meal." Daniel looks at the beans, bell papers, onions and other veggies neatly stacked at one corner of Oliver's plate.

"I ate chicken. Chicken is also healthy."

Daniel shakes his  head and stands up . "Let's go. I will drop you off."

"I can book a taxi."

"No need. God knows what trouble you will get yourself into, if you go alone this time."

Oliver pouts. He knows that he got into some unlucky situations for the past few weeks. That doesn't mean he is irresponsible and can't do anything right. But he doesn't protest anymore. Afterall, this CEO is going to be his boss again.

He stands up with a tight lipped smile "I am ready."

Oliver dosed off after sharing his apartment location with Daniel. Maybe it's because of the food or maybe medicine, he slept like a kid and only woke up when the car came to a sudden halt.

He yawns "Thank you, sir ! I will be there at the office tomorrow."

Oliver was about to open the car door when Daniel locks the car "Don't move!"

Oliver rubs his eyes and looks at Daniel clearly "huh ?"

Daniel"s face is cold "Is this where you live ?"

Oliver looks outside. "Yes ! Just above the medicine shop."

"The shop is closed." Daniel asks.

"Yeah , it's not 24/7. It opens at 10 and closes at 10."

"Who else lives in this building?"

"No one. Only me. Why ?"

Daniel looks at Oliver in frustration. "What about the boys on the bikes ?"

Oliver looks outside again. There are four boys, smoking and chatting among themselves. He has seen them for the first time. "Maybe they are just passer by."

Daniel lets out a sharp breath "You are a trouble magnet. You know that ?"

"How do you know they are bad ? In every lane, there are some local boys like that."

"This is not a lane. This is a abandoned street. And you literally live in a abandoned property." Daniel shouts.

"I don't. I am living here for almost a week. This is a civilized area. I have no problem living here. Nobody disturbed me." Oliver protests.

"Wow, one week ! One fucking week ! How big experience you do have here. I am seriously doubting your decision making skills now."

Oliver looks at Daniel irritated "If you have that much doubt on me, then don't risk your company for me. You don't have to but you can't treat me like a stupid kid. I am not a kid. I am not stupid."

Daniel scoffs "yeah ! I am having first hand experience with you for Weeks." Daniel unlocks the car "Do whatever you want. I don't give a flying fuck. Just don't come running at me next time."

"I wouldn't. Why everybody thinks I am nothing without them ?" Oliver unlocks and climbs down the car.

Daniel watches from the window mirror as Daniel stomps inside the apartment in anger. He hits the steering wheel in frustration.

He looks at the four boys still smocking at the same spot and curses under his breath "Not a stupid kid. Go, be an adult and die. Like I care !"

He starts his car and drives away from the location.
