Wallace did not confirm or deny the stranger's question, his question being respectful with a hint of wariness as he walked closer to the stairs to get a better view of the figure. He could see now that the individual's face was obscured by a headdress of some sort-covering half their face, leaving only their smiling lips visible and their nose. The other person looked to be quite tall too, possibly taller than Wallace himself. However the most interesting thing was the design on the headdress, the outlines of a giant open eye with a border of smaller eyes underneath it. Despite the stranger's eyes being hidden, Wallace still felt as if he was being watched-whether because of all the eye imagery or the figure could clearly see him despite the fabric on their face being quite thick. Either way, Wallace had to stop himself from frowning at the appearance of the stranger-not at all amused by the weird get up.
"Father Antonio." The figure calmly replied, the voice gentle and soothing against Wallace's ears, unconsciously easing some of the tension in the older man's shoulders.
For such a weird person, he does have a nice voice, Wallace concluded before giving the head priest a proper smile.
"I see, it's nice to meet you, Father Antonio." Wallace rested a hand on the rail of the stairs as he stared up at the head priest, closely examining him further now that he confirmed the other male's identity. "Forgive me for not wanting to answer your question, I tend to be a little cautious in situations like this."
It was too dark to get a better look at the head priest's body other than his long dark green hair pulled into a ponytail behind his tall figure. Even then it wasn't as if he was really Wallace's type, the older man was aware the man before him was a human though some part of him still wished those lips were accompanied by a pair of pure white fangs.
Such a pretty voice is such a waste on a human like him but I bet his screams would sound like music to anyone's ears-would make a pretty penny too. If Father Antonio was a vampire-Wallace resisted the urge to laugh at the thought of how many views his video would get if it featured a vampire like the head priest.
He would be a star, a best seller. No one online would be able to resist not watching any video featuring Father Antonio.
In fact Wallace has heard rumors that the other male was quite pretty too without his mask on.
Good looks and a nice voice, if only he wasn't a human, Wallace sighed internally as the head priest slowly tilted his head.
But then again maybe if things didn't work out, Wallace could make an exception for Father Antonio? No one else seemed to be up or around in the manor and Wallace could easily knock the man out-it wasn't as if a man of gods would know how to protect himself physically;Probably depended on the "protection" of the gods.
It would be amusing, making the head priest learn the hard way that the gods he worship can't really protect him if Wallace really wanted to get his hands on him. Slowly breaking down his will, watching the hope drain from his eyes in front of the camera-for all his followers and fans to witness. Of course with the priest being a human, he wouldn't last as long as a vampire would which meant Wallace would have to be careful to make him last until he found another replacement.
"Is this your first time seeking help from those connected to the gods?" Father Antonio asked, innocently and unknowingly interrupting Wallace's fantasy.
"This is my first time stepping into a church." Wallaced replied with a chuckle, discreetly tugging his pants upon feeling the effects of his imagination running wild, earning a soft laugh from the head priest.
"We are honored that you chose us to come to us for assistance."
Wallace's smile waver a bit at the head priest's response.
Us?
Who was Us?
The older man opened his mouth to ask further questions but the head priest turned his back to him while gesturing with his hand, speaking before Wallace could.
"Come, let us speak further in a more private and suitable room."
Wallace's hand gripped the stair rail, his green eyes narrowing on Father Antonio's back, his smile dropping. But when Father Antonio glanced behind him, the older man was all smiles again, his eyes closed.
"Don't worry, I'm coming." Wallace chuckles again, reassuring the taller male as he begins following him up the stairs.
The head priest had not warned him there was a possibility of another person being involved with these services. Wallace was under the impression that Father Antonio worked alone, conducting these types of services under the table. After all, no other church made such claims and promises as did The House of Death and Judgment.
For a simple price, we can make any wish or dream come true. Ask and you shall receive.
Wallace repeated what he learned in his head as he joined Father Antonio at the top of the stairs, even then having to tilt his head back some to smile at the priest. Did everything sound too good to be true? Yes. Was this entire situation shady and borderline suspicious? Of course.
But if it means the older man can get what he wants, there was no harm in trying or so Wallace thought.
"Lead the way, Father Antonio."
The head priest smiled at him once again(though he never quite dropped the smile this entire time and Wallace was too focused on himself to notice) before quietly turning down the hallway on their left. Wallace followed close behind him, glancing around. This hallway was also empty besides them, as if it was only Wallace and the head priest moving around the building.
"Say, if you don't mind me asking, but is it only you here?" Wallace asked carefully, eyeing the back of the priest.
Wallace recalled the head priest's earlier wording. He made it sound like there were other people here yet there has been no signs of any other presence other than Father Antonio. Like there was more than one person expecting Wallace's visit.
"Are we ever truly alone in this world, Mr. Hilt?" Father Antonio responded without missing a beat, his voice serene and unconcerned. "That is something everyone should keep in mind, there is no such thing as privacy or secrets."
Wallace frowned at the vague answer that did not fully answer the question. Then again, maybe this was the usual temperament and behavior of a priest- speaking in a peculiar way due to their "connection" with the gods. Still didn't help the irritation bubbling within the older man but Wallace took a breath in and out to center himself. He couldn't put the priest in his place before getting what he came here for- the key to Wallace's lifelong project.
A drug that would allow the older man to easily hunt his prey without them running off or fighting back;Benefiting from his urges being satisfied while at the same time, making money off his hobby without fear of getting caught by local authorities. It was a dream, a fantasy just out of his reach until he found out about Father Antonio- The House of Death and Judgment.
"Are you ready, Mr. Hilt?"
The head priest's voice crept into his mind again, snapping him out of his thoughts once again as Wallace almost ran straight into the taller man as Father Antonio stopped walking. Fortunately, the older man caught himself just in time, flashing the priest an apologetic smile before responding with a nod.
"Yes, of course." Wallace noticing that the taller man was standing in front of a closed door.
Father Antonio nodded, giving the older man another kind smile before reaching to open the door, this time the door not opening on its own. Without another word, the head priest stepped inside, not looking back to check if Wallace was following him. The older man stood in front of the open doorway, staring at the darkness inside. For once, he felt a cold sense of dread wash over his figure. If he walked into that room, there was no turning back. This thought firmly established itself in his mind and his previous thoughts of taking advantage of the situation to do as he pleased towards Father Antonio disappeared.
Taking a steadying breath, Wallace closed his eyes for a moment, preparing himself before opening his eyes and stepping inside the room. Listening to the door slowly closing behind him, his hands clenched together into fist at his side, without any help once again.
