Light seeps through the wooden blinds of Kinata’s home. Kijotsu slowly opens his gray eyes, wincing as pain rushes through his body. The faint glow of the diamond in his chest has dimmed — it’s calm, for now.
He sits up, looking around — the peaceful atmosphere feels unreal after everything that’s happened. Then, a voice breaks the silence.
Leenka (off-screen): “Kijotsu! Breakfast’s ready! Hurry up before Kinata burns it again!”
Kinata: “I heard that!”
Cut to the kitchen — chaos.
Leenka is waving a pan, half the eggs are on fire, and Kinata (pink hair tied up messily) is trying to look serious while clearly panicking.
Kinata: “This stupid pan is possessed! Why won’t it listen!?”
Leenka: “Because you can’t cook, Kinata!”
Kijotsu walks in, hair messy, bandaged up, just staring.
Kijotsu (deadpan): “...Are you two serious right now?”
Leenka (grinning): “Welcome to the battlefield, soldier.”
Kinata (furious): “You shut up before I use this pan as a weapon!”
Kijotsu laughs — genuinely. It’s the first time in a long while he feels warmth, not battle.
---
Later that day, Kijotsu walks through the quiet streets toward a recovery hall where Notsu lies, still unconscious but alive.
His red sword rests beside him, dull and cracked.
Kijotsu sits down next to him.
He stares at the ceiling, silent, then whispers:
Kijotsu: “You told me to learn to control my power... and I nearly destroyed myself doing it. You’d probably call me stupid again.”
He clenches his fist — his expression softens.
A soft flashback begins:
A small girl with short white hair — his younger sister — is laughing, running through a flower field.
Her voice echoes:
> “You promised, Kijo... You’ll always be by my side, right?”
The image fades.
Tears fall down Kijotsu’s face.
Kijotsu (whispering): “I promised... and I failed you.”
He grips the diamond in his chest — it pulses faintly, responding to his sorrow.
---
Night falls.
Back at Kinata’s home, she’s cleaning the table when she glances toward Kijotsu outside, sitting under the moonlight.
She smiles softly… but her eyes glint faintly purple for a second.
Kinata (quietly): “You’re too kind for this world, Kijotsu…”
The screen fades out on Kijotsu looking up at the moon — calm, unaware that this peace will soon shatter.
End of Episode 9

This episode perfectly balances humor, emotion, and foreshadowing — it deepens Kijotsu’s bond with Kinata and Leenka while giving us a heartbreaking glimpse of his past and his humanity.
