Empty Prism: 5 months

*Ravyn and yuno enter the hospital were Blair works with they 5-month-old child Empty prism being very worried as the child still seems to have major issues drinking breast milk normally and only seems to take fluids and food thought the feeding tube they go to the front desk to register they here for they check up*

Nurse: oh hello ravyn you're here for prisms checkup correct?

ravyn: affirmative, Blair is supposed to look over, and we want to finally do the testing

*The nurse type into her pc for a wile*

nurse: you are checked in! Your sister will get you once she's able too, we unfortunately got slammed total because people seem to get hurt a lot today!

ravyn: I heard that from Blair she warned be about the waiting time *he snickers a little bit*

*they both sit down wile ravyn is holding prism in her arms who is currently napping*

yuno:worried?

ravyn:…..yes, I am worried

yuno:it will be okay I'm sure there's a way to help lil prism here with what ever issue she is having, *hold her finger near prism who promptly start trying to eat her finger* pfff hungry lil girl? You sadly will need to wait for a wile.

ravyn: I'm just worried about the factor that she's seeming can't keep anything down orally but the feeding tube currently she's not minding so much

*prism starts to CUU and babble a lil bit complaining of having no food*

*after 1.5 hours Blair comes walking down the hallway looking like she's done with life*

yuno:that bad? 

Blair:YOU HAVE NO IDEA *goes thought her hair to calm down a lil bit,* I can do the check-up on prism now! 

*Ravyn and yuno stand up and follow Blair*

Blair: how has prism been? 

Ravyn: so far so well she has not been throwing up any food that came thought the feeding tube but as you told us we tried breast milk from time to time but same thing the moment she swallowed it she seems like she's choking and throwing up immediately after

Blair: so it didn't get better…. *Blair starts checking prism up taking her heartbeat and how her breathing sounds* she has normal vitals that's good…. *She carefully checks the feeding tube and checks her throat for anything that could obstruct it is feels nothing that could be in the way outside the feeding tube… you have some with you? Now that she's older i most likely can pinpoint it better.

Ravyn:I do I have a bottle of milk with me as I thought it might be helpful *takes out the bottle with milk and gives it to prism wile Blair has her hands on prism throat to feel were the milk is when the reaction comes*

*prism throws up pretty much immediately once it hits the part that splits it between the lungs and food pipe ravyn making sure to hold her in a way so she doesn't puke over herself and also to make sure she doesn't actually choke*

Blair: something wrong with the part of her throat that separates the food pipe from the air pipe that's not working that why she immediately throws it up and chokes

Yuno:that's not good 

Blair:no its not, it means either she is missing the part that separates them or something else is going on 

*Prism is crying because of her throwing up and ravyn cuddles her to try to calm her down,* shhh it's okay prism…. We are sorry, but we are trying to find out what's wrong….

*Blair gets a Machine* this machine checks if certain nerves trigger it does it by hooking into the persons magic to check *she places the points on prisms' throat with prism is not bothered by*

Blair: one last time she needs to drink something 

*this time yuno gives prism the bottle milk wile ravyn holds her in the same way so she can safely throw up as that will happen anyway and the same thing happens*

*Blair looks at the reading of the machine and looks very concerned*

Yuno: you were looking concerned like that is a bad sign Blair

Blair:how do I put this…… her throat works considering she throws up but the part that separates her throat and airway…….that is not working AT ALL, there's nothing firing there…. So the reason she has thrown up, but the feeding tube is fine? It's because anything she drinks or would eat land in her air pipe with normally would just cause coughing, but her body overreacts and makes her puke In full force.

Ravyn:can that be fixed?

Yuno:not really as the nerves are not firing with makes me think the muscles needed for that either don't exist or are paralyzed for some reason nothing we can't fix that, and she does not have enough magic to maybe help there otherwise we would have already seen that kick in a wile ago… the best thing we can do is doing a permanent feeding tube for prism tho you would not completely be locked into just using feeding formula as her stomach is working just fine! So in the future blending food as small as you can and pushing that thought the feeding tube will work the same with breast milk! So pumping will be done on your end. 

Ravyn: I hate pumping…it hurts….

Blair:sorry dear sister, but I can't help with that

Ravyn: i know i know…. When can prism get a permanent tube?

Blair: best is when she can a year old, and then we need to max refit it once a year to make sure it's in the right place and then once she stops growing every 2 years 

Yuno: anything else we could do?

Blair: we could try some physical therapy when she is older and understands what we want her to do, not easy to do on a 5-month-old

Ravyn: understandable but it is good to know what going on …… even if we can't “fix” it still good to know how we can help her thought it

Blair: yes it is I do want my Nices to be health or as health as she can be, and otherwise she is healthy Ravyn she will be okay

Yuno:thank you, Blair

Blair: you're welcome

Ravyn: we are going to go home

Blair: do that IL visit in the evening, okay?

Ravyn: okay….

*They start walking outside and ravyn just hugged prism being scared for her and also just being sad they cannot truly fix the issue and ravyn starts to softly cry wile yuno just picks him up so he dosent have to walk and can just cry his heart out into her arms*
