As they returned the barracks was still the energetic choas as when they left it. Despite being able to relax for the rest evening Azam still had a sick feeling his stomach.The reason being, this was the first c-rank mission he had actually done.All of the mission that he completed up to this point during the war were all d-rank missions, escorting merchant or other people who were able to afford an escort by the cross border mercenaries.This experience of escorts would actually be beneficially as unknown to him the small scarmishes of orcs he and victoria dealt would mean they already gained some battle and fighting experience.
The ranks for missions goes in the following order: e-rank,d-rank,c-rank,b-rank,a-rank and s-rank.Each rank for the mission they are ten times harder then the previous with The lowest s-rank mission being one million times harder then the highest e-rank mission.Additionally, the fees for the missions also increase due to the risk that comes to the missions.
Azam layed on bunk staring up at the roof just wondering to himself.He was an orphan as his parents were killed during a orc raid on his home village which was bording the frontlines during the time.That was 12 years ago and now the republic of man has pushed much deeper into the kingdom of the orcs.The thing was that despite all of this troubled past he stilled longed for the war to be over.The war,between the kingdom of man and the republic of orcs,had been in action for the last 200 years.
Victoria snapped him out of his daydreaming and asked "Are you ready for the mission tommorrow"
"No not really as it would be our first c-rank mission that the two of will do" replied Azam, anxiety filled his voice.
"Well atleast we will be away from these lot" pointing to the other mercenaries in the barrack, vicsoftly replied to Azam.
The next day they got up early packed their weapons and a few chi drinks,in case of a quick refuel for eother one of them, and set off for their mission.The journey to the frontlines was 1 week long possibly longer due to the possible bandits and rogue orcs that managed to break through the defensive lines.These were normally lighlty armed scouts for intel which were normally e to d-rank level orcs.However, every once in a while a strong bunch of b-rank orcs cross the border in order to pillage villages for resources or for assassination attempts on govertment workers and military officers to weaken the front lines by creating choas on the human side.
As the duo go to the gate of their mercenary base Dagger stopped them."I know it is long way to frontlines,but when you get to the frontlines find commader Thomas and tell him that Dagger sent the two of you, he will give a debrief of the situation and better info about the mission than I can."Told dagger in his demanding officer tone.
"Alright thank you sir, we shall keep that in mind"Replied the two of them in unsion as they hurried through the gates to start their journey.
