Back at the Hundr Warriors HQ, Sabito was lying in the infirmary as Genghis Quack was waiting outside, leaning on the wall.
Lady Thyra walked outside.
“Lady Thyra, can we talk?” Genghis Quack asked.
“You wanna know about the phantom crystal, don’t you?” Lady Thyra asked.
“Yes, because I want to know what you dragged my student and I into,” Genghis Quack said.
Lady Thyra sighed. “Listen, there was a shipment that arrived near Laymeria a few days ago,” she said.
Genghis Quack raised an eyebrow. “What was in the shipment?” he asked.
“The Phantom Crystal,” Lady Thyra said.
“This guy is looking for the phantom crystal?” Genghis Quack asked.
Lady Thyra nodded. “Yes, but I can make a pretty good guess why he wants it,” Lady Thyra said.
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that. The Phantom Crystal has a lot of power, but we need to figure out how to stop him.” Genghis Quack said.
Lady Thyra leaned on the wall. “I know, and I can also tell you’re angry about your student,” Lady Thyra said.
“It’s just the kid has been through enough, and it’s no telling what he’ll have to face because of his name and power but Sabito isn’t going to complain and neither will I. I bet he’s in there thinking about the next time he comes face to face with that wolf,” Genghis Quack explained.
Lady Thyra nodded.
Gunnar was standing outside with Birger and Frode.
Gunnar was folding his arms.
“I still can’t believe it’s been a wolf with crazy powers wiping out the cities,” Gunnar said.
“I can’t believe Lady Thyra wants to put our hopes in a little rabbit,” Frode said.
“Elder Frode, didn’t you see that burst of power from the rabbit?” Birger asked.
Frode looked at Birger. “I did, but I also saw the wolf defeat him,” he said.
Gunnar looked at Frode. “Then what do you suggest we do?” Gunnar asked.
Frode’s eyes narrowed. “We go take on Shi ourselves,” he said.
Birger and Gunnar looked at Frode.
“Are you serious?” Gunnar asked.
“Yes, I’m serious because while we’re here that wolf is probably out there getting ready to attack another village and I won’t stand around and allow that to happen especially after he destroyed my home Freya Village,” Frode explained as he clenched his fists.
“You do realize that Lady Thyra won’t allow us to do this right?” Birger asked.
Frode glanced over at Birger. “Who says I’m telling Lady Thyra about this?” he asked as Gunnar and Birger looked at each other.
“Well, we have no choice. Besides I think this is the best way to go,” Gunnar said.
Birger stayed quiet but Gunnar and Frode knew he was in.
Frode looked at Birger and Gunnar. “We’ll leave at midnight,” Frode said as Birger and Gunnar nodded.
Lady Thyra and Genghis Quack were still talking.
“Educate me on the phantom crystal,” Genghis Quack said.
Lady Thyra looked at Genghis Quack.
“Well, it’s a complicated history but I can give you the basic information of the phantom crystal,” Lady Thyra said.
Genghis Quack sat down on the floor.
“The Phantom Crystal’s creation comes in many stories but the Hundr believe that the second story of the phantom crystal is true,” Lady Thyra said.
“And that would be?” Genghis Quack asked.
“During the Porian Empire Era of which the Genesis War took place and we all know who was a part of that war but near the land of Jewel and Laymeria a mysterious porian crafted a magical jewel and that became the phantom crystal. No one knows how the jewel was crafted and they certainly didn’t know where the phantom crystal had come from,” Lady Thyra explained.
“When the mysterious porian entered the battle, he used the phantom crystal to end the war,” Lady Thyra said.
“Are you serious? He used that one jewel to end a 10 year war?” Genghis Quack asked.
Lady Thyra nodded. “Yes, that’s how powerful the jewel is,” she said.
Genghis Quack shook his head. “That’s pretty scary to think about especially if this guy is looking for the jewel,” Genghis Quack said.
Genghis Quack glanced over to the room that Sabito was in.
“While Sabito’s power is amazing he doesn’t know how to use it but still we don’t know the full extent of Shi’s power especially with that black aura around him,” Genghis Quack explained.
Lady Thyra nodded. “We could help Sabito with this problem,” she said.
“Yeah, we are pressed for time because of Shi going around wiping out villages,” Genghis Quack explained.
“Don’t worry, there’s a cave near here that can help Sabito with his powers by testing him out in battle and inside that cave time stops so he won’t miss anything and he’ll get stronger and I’ll personally help you train him with his power,” Lady Thyra explained.
Genghis Quack nodded. “Thank you,” he said.
Lady Thyra nodded. “It’s no trouble. We are the ones who asked you and your student to help us with this problem and it’s time we honor the agreement,” Lady Thyra said.
Genghis Quack looked at her. “Nonetheless, thank you,” he said.
Lady Thyra smiled a bit.
“I’m also sorry about your student,” she added.
“I know, but he’s okay. Sabito doesn’t know the meaning of the word self-loathing or the phrase give up. Honestly, it’s odd behavior for someone his age to have that kind of attitude because this generation is work shy but this kid isn’t, I’m guessing it comes from the fact he comes from Rabbit Burrow,” Genghis Quack explained.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“Sabito, lived a life similar to you guys the Hundr Warriors only with a bit of difference that he got to be a kid sometime and I know because his grandfather Minetaka was a comrade of mine back in the day when we were both young warriors,” Genghis Quack explained.
“I wonder if that’s what you meant by him being different from other students,” Lady Thyra said as Genghis Quack nodded.
“He’s got some much potential and that fight with Shi just proved it,” Genghis Quack said.
Lady Thyra smirked and looked away. “You are a softy,” she said as Genghis Quack’s face turned red. “I-I’m not, I just think very highly of the kid, he’s like family to me,” Genghis Quack said.
Lady Thyra giggled. “It’s kinda cute,” she said as Genghis Quack stood up. “I need a drink,” he said as Lady Thyra laughed.
Inside of the room, Sabito’s eyes opened.
Sabito sat up and looked around the room.
Sabito quickly remembered what happened between him and Shi.
A quick flash of the last memory of him before knocked out.
Sabito gritted his teeth.
“I can't, I couldn't beat him,” Sabito said as he clenched the bed covers.
Sabito got out of bed and he quickly got on his knees.
Sabito gritted his teeth in pain.
Sabito looked at his hand as he raised an eyebrow.
He began to sense some weird aura within his body.
“Why does my body have the same aura of Shi?” Sabito asked himself.
Sabito tried to stand up but he leaned on the wall.
“W-why is it hard to stand?” Sabito thought.
A giant black shadow of Shi appeared in front of him.
“HAHAHA! DO YOU GET IT!? YOU CARROT-MUNCHER! YOU WERE DEFEATED BY ME IN BATTLE AND NOW I CONTROL YOU AND THAT POWER OF YOURS! YOU’VE TRULY FAILED JUST LIKE YOU FAILED YOUR FELLOW RABBITS WHO HAVE BEEN SLAIN!” The black shadow Shi echoed.
Sabito winced as he ran at the shadow.
The shadow of Shi engulfed Sabito into the void where he heard a bunch of screams of rabbits, hundr, his master Genghis Quack, and Natsu.
Sabito eventually truly woke up back in the infirmary.
He looked out the window and saw it at night time.
Sabito got out of bed.
Sabito glanced over at his hoodie and katana.
Sabito grabbed his katana. “I need to train,” he said.
Out near Thor City, Shi smirked. “I’ll find that phantom crystal even if I have to destroy every village, town, and city in this forsaken country,” Shi said.
“Over our dead bodies,” Frode said as Shi turned around.
Gunnar, Birger, and Frode had their weapons ready as Shi began to laugh.
“You fools have come back for another beating?” Shi asked.
I’ll send your heads back to your leader, that duck, and the rabbit as a preview of what’s to come of them,” Shi said as his eyes turned purple.
The trio of Hundr warriors glared and clenched their weapons ready for battle.
“We end things here,” Frode said.
“RIGHT!” Gunnar and Birger shouted.
