The Adventurer Insurance Founder

Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Nov 15, 2025

The following morning Evan arrived at Crestfall Risk Shield expecting another long line of customers. Instead he found something else waiting for him. A group of guild officials stood outside his office. They formed a small circle around a heavily guarded document sealed with blue wax. Mira, Elira, and Garron were already inside preparing for the day. When they saw the guild officials, they grew tense.

The guild master approached with a serious expression. Evan Crestfall he said. The council and the guild have reviewed your risk predictions. The western ruins incident proved the accuracy of your system. The attacks by the Umbra Brokers show the threat you face. The fluctuating hazard curves show the world is becoming unstable. We cannot ignore this any longer.

Evan waited calmly. The guild master opened the sealed document. We present you with the Adventurer Survival Reform Act. This contract makes Crestfall Risk Shield an official advisory partner of the guild. You will provide daily hazard predictions. We will adjust missions accordingly. You will receive funding for additional tools and staff. In return you will share your risk models and allow audits for public safety.

Mira’s eyes widened. Elira whispered softly. It is a partnership. Garron smiled faintly. This is recognition. Evan understood the scale. An official guild contract. City-level authority. Structured collaboration. But also scrutiny. Pressure. Accountability. He accepted silently. The guild master nodded and handed him the quill. Evan signed without hesitation.

The guild master continued. There is more. The council has approved a citywide initiative. We will build three hazard towers using your blueprint. These towers will detect mana drift, curse density, and future oscillation. Adventurers will check hazard readings before choosing missions. They will rely on you.

The contract offered legitimacy but also responsibility he had never imagined. Crestfall Risk Shield was no longer simply a company. It was now a public safety institution. The guild master added We cannot control the Umbra Brokers. But with your system we can control how much harm they cause.

Evan placed the signed document on the counter. Thank you he said. But understand this. The Umbra Brokers will escalate again. They will not accept our success. The guild master nodded. Then we must be ready.

Throughout the morning the announcement spread across the city. Adventurers rushed to the office to congratulate Evan. Merchants offered free supplies. Teams pledged loyalty to the reform. Even Draven grudgingly admitted that Evan’s system had become indispensable.

But as the celebration continued, Elira noticed something strange. A few adventurers carried small curse bruises on their arms. Evan examined the bruises. They contained the same resonance signature from the accelerated danger curve. The Umbra Brokers were not slowing down. They were increasing their influence. Evan warned the guild immediately.

That afternoon he met with guild representatives to establish the first daily hazard committee. Evan displayed charts on the table. He explained the rising curse pressure. The shifting mana cycles. The unpredictable future oscillations. He organized the committee into teams. Zone monitoring. Pattern analysis. Adventurer behavior tracking. Public announcements. The guild realized how much work was needed.

After the meeting Evan returned to the office and reviewed the latest readings. The future curve glowed unpredictably. The world was changing rapidly. But the city now stood united behind his system.

As night fell he updated the risk board. He added a new category. Citywide survival probability. It was a number that reflected all hazard variables combined. When he calculated the value he froze. The number was lower than expected. Too low for comfort.

He called the team. Elira studied the number. This cannot be right. Garron stared grimly. Is the city in danger. Evan nodded slowly. Yes. If the accelerated hazard cycles continue the city will face a major event within weeks.

The room grew silent.

Evan looked up with a steady voice. Then we prepare. The reform act is the first step. The towers are the second. But the Umbra Brokers are planning something. And we will stop them.

The world of adventurers was entering a new age. And Crestfall Risk Shield stood at the center.

Tomorrow the war of risk and shadow would begin.

In a fantasy world where adventurers die faster than quests can be posted, one man decides to change everything. Evan Crestfall, a calm and analytical former risk modeler from another world, arrives in a land filled with monsters, dungeons, curses, and chaotic magic. After seeing how unprepared adventurers are and how little the guild understands real danger, he establishes the first Adventurer Insurance Company.

Evan creates new insurance plans that cover injuries, death benefits, equipment loss, and team based risk sharing. He introduces magical risk indicators, divination actuarial forecasting, and behavior based premium adjustment. With these tools he can predict the danger of every quest and calculate the survival chances of every adventurer.

As Evan reshapes the entire guild economy, competitors appear. Some are honest and want to learn from him. Others are black market operators who curse their customers to avoid paying claims. Between battles with magical beasts and battles with corrupt insurers, Evan must defend his growing company and prove that risk control is as heroic as any sword or spell.

This is the story of how one man builds a new industry in a world ruled by chaos and danger and how his work becomes the shield behind every hero.
