Comme ça: My Star, My Enemy

I spoke

I spoke

Nov 17, 2025

Suddenly, Mi-Ok stopped pulling her hair, and Noelle’s arm was also free. Mi-Ok was being pulled backwards.

“Stop, I can’t breathe!” Mi-Ok cried out. Ye-Jun lifted her from the waist and carried her away from Noelle. Mi-Ok protested, but Ye-Jun held her tight.

When they were at a safe distance away, he put her down and asked furiously: “Are you insane? What are you trying to do?”

“What you made me do!” she screamed.

"The walls are made of glass. You want your pictures all over the internet with the subtitle ‘Young idol gets crazy and attacks random employees'?" Ye-Jun asked.

That must have brought Mi-Ok back to reality. She didn't say another thing. Ye-Jun guided her into the small meeting room right next to Chloe's office, with opaque walls. They shut the door and Noelle was left alone, struggling to calm down.

She sat on the chair and stared at the black -now- screen. Her hands were shaking, her heart still racing fast. Only her second day there and she had to face not one, but two crazy people. Would there be a third nutcase on her third day too?

If there was a third day for her.

The door opened and she heard someone approaching. Mi-Suk sat next to her. "Exactly as I said earlier. She has an opinion about everything!" she told Noelle. It was then that Mi-Suk must have noticed her face. It must have been something dreadful.

"Noelle, sweetie, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice full of worry, her eyes filled with anxiety.

Finally, someone who cared. Mi-Suk had been a total stranger until the previous day, and now she was calling her 'sweetie,' her face etched with concern. Noelle's eyes watered.

"Mi-Suk... I'm sorry. I didn't listen to your advice. I spoke..." Noelle replied.

Mi-Suk gave her a puzzled look. The next second her eyes popped open – she understood.

Before having the chance to ask for details, the door flew open. Chloe and Mr. Chung rushed in. Mr. Chung went straight into the meeting room, Chloe stopped to check on Noelle first.

"Noelle, are you ok? Are you hurt?" she asked anxiously.

Noelle wasn't sure what to say. "I am not... hurt."

"Mi-Suk, please take Noelle downstairs and go somewhere to have a coffee, a tea, anything. I will call you. I am so sorry Noelle, we'll talk when you get back," Chloe said and went to the meeting room too.

Mi-Suk came next to her and unleashed her already disheveled ponytail. She tenderly stroked her hair.

“Sweetie, come on, let's go. You can tell me everything – or nothing," Mi-Suk said and Noelle followed her, tears streaming down her face.

They went to a coffee shop on the next block, and Noelle decided to say everything. Mi-Suk shook her head, as if anticipating everything she heard. Mi-Suk knew how Mi-Ok could behave. She was shocked though when she heard that she attacked her.

"I don't understand why she behaved like this. She shouldn't be jealous at all," Mi-Suk said.

“I would be a bit jealous if my boyfriend was saying the things he was saying...”

“Yeah! Right! Of course!” Mi-Suk agreed emphatically. “Well, he’s done it already!”

"Is he always so scheming? Is this how he succeeded?"

Mi-Suk started laughing out loud. "This? How...?" she managed among her cackles. "No, sweetie, no," she continued when she calmed down. "He doesn't think at all usually. Strategy is an unknown word to him. But he is stubborn. And when he sets his mind on something... he starts thinking."

"I made him think?" Noelle asked, thinking how 'lucky' she was.

"Apparently. Well don’t worry. I guess Chloe will figure it out. Less than two months are left," Mi-Suk said.

"Three months. You mean the internship, right?" Noelle asked as the number didn’t match up.

Mi-Suk looked startled. "Oh… What am I saying! You are right," Mi-Suk said quickly. "Do you want something to eat?" Mi-Suk asked and gave her the menu.

Noelle had absolutely no appetite.

He was right. The weapon he had unleashed was the last thing she’d expected.

You're good, Yeong Ye-Jun…

“Oh, I told you! It’s nothing personal! You just need to go. I can’t have you around. I can’t worry about what you’ll learn, what you’ll dig up. I live in the spotlight I created for myself. I can’t hide, but I have to. I can’t leave, but I want to escape. My whole life is this fucking job—because without it, I don’t have a life,” he said to the imaginary intern across the sofa.

An idol drowning in debt. A girl who schemed her way in. Neither knows they’re about to ruin each other.

Ye-Jun is living a double life. A top star by day, he’s secretly trapped in mob debt, bound to his manager by a blood-soaked promise made in a dark alley.

Noelle crossed the world to Seoul under false pretenses. An academic intern by day, she’s secretly a devoted fan who orchestrated her way into Ye-Jun’s world to write a case study on him.

When her curiosity clashes with his paranoia, their collision sparks a fire that could burn down the walls around his career—and her future.

He’ll do anything to drive her away.
She’ll do anything to stay.

In a world of lies and danger, the only thing more volatile than their hatred is the attraction they can’t deny. One wrong move could destroy them both—but the right one might be the deadliest gamble of all.
