Nature Tycoon of the Magic Realm

When Siroth landed back on the village platform the riders gathered to hear Arwyn’s report. Ethan stepped down with unsteady legs. His knees shook from the intensity of the flight but his mind felt clear and full of light. The High Elder waited at the center of the platform. Arwyn approached and bowed her head.

“He rode well,” she said. “He saw the threads clearly.”

The elder nodded and turned to Ethan. “The sky accepted you. Now the land below must speak to you directly.”

Ethan frowned. “Speak to me.”

“There is a grove near the valley’s heart,” the elder said. “It is older than our settlement. The trees there carry the whisper of the ley threads. If they choose to show you something you must listen. Few outsiders ever enter the grove. Yet the land marked you. It may reveal its voice.”

Arwyn placed a hand on Ethan’s shoulder. “I will take you there. It is a long walk but worth the journey.”

Ethan nodded. “I am ready.”

They left the village through a narrow trail that descended from the ridge and passed through layers of pine forest. The air grew warmer as they moved lower. Sunlight filtered through branches and lit the path in shifting patterns. Birds with glowing feathers flew between the trees. Some landed on branches and watched them pass with curious eyes. Ethan studied each plant and stone as they walked. The ley threads pulsed gently beneath his feet. They guided him in the same way a river guided a raft.

Arwyn glanced at him. “You walk like someone who has lived here for years.”

“I spent most of my life studying landscapes,” Ethan said. “I guess some habits follow me no matter what world I am in.”

“That is good,” Arwyn said. “The land respects those who respect it.”

After an hour of walking the forest opened into a clearing. A ring of old trees stood in the center. Their trunks were wide and twisted. Their leaves glowed with soft green light even though they blocked much of the sun. The air felt thick and warm. Ethan sensed a deep hum beneath the ground like a giant sleeping creature breathing.

“This is the Whispering Grove,” Arwyn said. “Step only where the moss is bright. The darker patches are fragile.”

Ethan nodded and followed her footsteps. Each step felt like entering a sacred hall. The branches above bent inward as if listening. When they reached the center of the grove Arwyn stopped and placed her palm on one of the old trees. She whispered something in a language Ethan did not recognize. The air shifted. The leaves rustled although no wind moved them.

“Your turn,” she said. “Place your hand on the trunk. Let the grove feel your intention.”

Ethan stepped closer. He placed his hand on the bark. It felt warm like living skin. A pulse of light moved under the surface. Ethan closed his eyes. He remembered the trails he had designed back home. The effort he put into protecting fragile areas. The joy he felt when children saw their first waterfall. The awe of watching sunrise over a canyon. He thought about what this world could be if people learned to explore it with care.

A low hum vibrated through the trunk. Ethan felt something deep inside him shift like a door opening. He sensed the ley lines expand in his awareness. The vision filled his mind. He saw the entire valley from above. The glowing threads pulsed in long arcs. The forests shimmered. The rivers carried magic like currents of blue fire. But beyond the safe region he saw a dark patch again. The same one he had glimpsed during the flight. It pulsed with weak light that faded at the edges.

The grove whispered a message. Not words but feelings. A call for balance. A warning of pressure. A plea for someone to guide the flow. Ethan felt the weight of it. Not heavy but earnest. Like a request from an old friend.

He opened his eyes and stepped back. Arwyn watched him with quiet curiosity.

“You saw something,” she said.

“Yes,” Ethan said softly. “The land is stressed. Something is pulling at it. I do not know what but it feels wrong.”

Arwyn nodded slowly. “That is why the elders are worried. The shift grows each season.”

Ethan looked at the grove again. “But it also showed me something else. It showed me paths. Natural flows. Places where people could walk without harming the land.”

Arwyn smiled. “So the grove chose to show you both danger and potential. It seems you truly are connected.”

Ethan felt a steady calm inside him. For the first time since arriving he understood his place in this world. He was still an ecotourism planner. He still cared about guiding people through nature in a way that created joy but not destruction. But now he had a whole new world to work with. A world that asked for his help.

Arwyn gestured for him to follow. “We should return to the village. The elders will want to hear your vision. They may ask you to guide new routes or design safe paths for travelers. You may find yourself with a new responsibility.”

Ethan walked beside her. “If I can help protect this land and help people understand it I will do it.”

Arwyn gave him a sideways glance. “Be careful what you promise. In this world the land listens.”

As they left the grove Ethan felt the hum fading behind them. But the vision remained in his mind. Trails across ridges. Platforms for eagle flights. Campsites in safe glowing clearings. Waterfall paths that twisted around enchanted pools. A full system of magical adventure routes. Sustainable. Beautiful. Filled with wonder.

He had always wanted to share the beauty of nature with the world. Now he could share an entire magical realm. And if he did it right he could protect it for generations.

His new life was no longer just beginning.

It was taking shape.
