Damona gives me a cute, sexy pout as I am trying to leave and it does make it hard to walk away. Things aren’t even finalized and I am already wondering if this is a good idea. That’s not true, I know it’s not a good idea, I just don’t know how bad it will really be.

However, sneaking one last look at Damona as the door closes, it may be a bad idea, but it’s going to be fun. Although, the thought of the things that Damona might teach my wives excites me. Things could definitely get interesting once Damona and Leafa are summoned.

For now, I rush back to update Leafa and then make my way out of Soul City. I just barely manage to wake up before Mercy gets out of bed, but she isn’t in the mood. She just wants to know how things went and nothing else is happening until I answer her questions.

Unfortunately, by the time I am done answering her questions we just barely have time to eat breakfast. As soon as we get done eating, we board the carriage and the caravan gets moving. We should reach the capital today, either before or after lunch depending on our speed.

As soon as the caravan is moving, Mercy closes her eyes and I can tell that she is meditating. She is probably opening a soulscape to pass on the information she got from me. I was planning to tell my other wives tonight, I don’t understand what the rush is.

It’s not like they can summon Leafa and Damona right now, there are details to be worked out. Currently, we don’t even know the summoning spells we need to use for the two of them. However, I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut and a few minutes later Mercy’s eyes open.

Mercy says “Lin will be waiting in the castle. You need to open a gate for her as soon as we stop for lunch.”

“What? Why the sudden change?”

Mercy says “Lin wants to meet the other rulers before we get to the capital and she wants to be with us to meet King Vex.”

“Oh, alright. You are still staying until after the rescue, right?”

Mercy says “Yes. I am not leaving until I have to.”

“Good. Well, if this is the end of our time with just the two of us, we should make the best of it.”

With a smile Mercy slides onto my lap and starts kissing me passionately, just as I had hoped. We spend the time until the caravan stops for lunch having some gentle fun. As soon as the carriage stops, I climb out and immediately open a gate to the castle.

As soon as the gate is open, a miniature white fox comes flying through it and wraps around my neck. I can’t help laughing as the fox starts licking my face and that is what Lin sees as she exits the gate. Lin laughs at me as she waits for her turn to greet me and I close the gate behind her.

It takes me a minute to calm Asuna down enough that I am able to give Lin a kiss hello. We then head over to eat lunch with the rulers and I make the introductions. Gremshow about swallows his tongue when I introduce Lin, but at least it keeps him quiet.

Asuna stays in fox form to make it easier for her to get attention from everyone. She is very popular with Mavel’s daughters, but that isn’t surprising since she is soft and fuzzy. I do get some weird looks when I introduce her as my daughter, but no one says anything.

We finish eating, but Lin and Mercy invite the rest of the women to ride with them. So I end up riding up top with Leylisha and petting Asuna who is curled up in my lap. I haven’t asked why she is here because I don’t want her to think that I don’t want her here.

I’m sure that Lin will let me know what is going on once we get a chance to talk. Although, the way things are going, that won’t be until after we have met King Vex. We should reach the capital in around an hour, so we should be meeting him soon.

We do reach the capital in about an hour as planned, but it takes another hour to reach the palace. The city’s streets are old and narrow, making traffic a serious problem that slows us down a lot. On the way to the palace, we pass a building that I vaguely remember from our raids.

It is where I let loose a bunch of beasts, the one that had the giant snake golem. I really hope that King Vex doesn’t have enough information from then to recognize me. I am pretty sure that I was still using my beastman form back then, so I will need to be careful.

The problem is, I can’t exactly remember if I left anyone alive who saw me during the raid. That was one of the first raids and they kind of all blend together in my memory. I will just have to hope that I didn’t leave witnesses, or that it has been long enough for them to have forgotten.

However, just to be on the safe side, I will stay in my dragonoid form at all times if possible. I should look different enough to make it hard to associate me with the raid, I hope. I will just play it by ear and see how things go, but it should be safe enough.

King Vex’s home is a true palace, built on a bluff overlooking the ocean, it is an impressive sight. Luckily, while everything is obviously expensive, it manages to not be gaudy. There are a lot of servants waiting for us, obviously too many once Amn and Lizzy put the carriages away.

They quickly sort themselves out and we are soon being escorted into King Vex’s throne room. King Vex is not what I was expecting, he is a large built man with fiery red hair and beard. He honestly looks more like a barbarian ready to go raiding than a ruling king.

However, despite his appearance, when he greets us he proves to be well spoken and warm. As usual, as the highest ranking of us, Amn makes all the introductions. King Vex welcomes all of us, then has servants lead us to our rooms to get freshened up before dinner.

However, I barely get a chance to have a look at my suite before a servant knocks at the door. Following the servant, I am led to a smaller room where King Vex and Amn are waiting for me. Once I arrive and sit down, King Vex dismisses all of the servants and guards.

King Vex says “Alright, we have two issues to discuss, this mysterious island and our route north. Which do you want to talk about first?”

“We should talk about the island first. More importantly, how soon can you have forces ready to go to claim it?”

King Vex says “I have two ships fully loaded and ready to go, but it is going to depend on the size of the island and how distant it is.”
