"I know," she replied. "What's gonna happen to Mr. Bjånsen if he goes to prison?"

"He's gonna get killed, taken against his will, beaten, or extorted; inmates don't take kindly to paedophiles, not to mention woman-beaters, child killers, cops, or rapists." Hiro went to a milk tea machine and got him and his daughter a drink. "I'm gonna teach you some living skills sometime soon."

"Thanks for the drink," she said, sipping the tapioca pearls and boba tea out the cup. "So, how long will be before court starts?"

"Twenty-eight minutes left." Hiro looked at phone. "These guys better charge him. Otherwise, we're gonna have a problem," he hissed.

Alania used her right hand to take his left hand, boba in their free hands. "He'll get his. I promise you."

Thirty minutes passed. The prosecutor, Yannis Horiguchi, slammed some strawberry gummy bears on the table. "Is it true you used this candy to bribe Alania?"

"Maaaaaybe...?" Mr. Bjårnsen decided to use his smart mouth, smirking.

"This is no time for games, Nathan," Yannis said crossly. Just by looking at Nathan's smirk, Hiro wanted rip his jaw off his mouth, but he didn't want a contempt-of-court charge, so he put his fist down.

Mrs. Shiron was called to the stand. "I knew Nathan was a creep from minute one! When we were talking about Bleach, an anime, he said he wanted to have relations with Ichigo's child. Put him under the jail!"

Mr. Kurąszawa was called later. "Guy has issues. He always had this paedophilic sense of humour. Instead of prison, give HIM the death penalty!"

Judge Horrace Shinichiro declared, "We will break for lunch. Feel free to go to the cafeteria for large quantities of food!" He banged his gavel.

Hiro saw that the café had a choice betwixt sausages and chicken drunken noodle with rice balls, kimchi, salad, and sweet creme bread for dessert. He fixed Alania's plate. "Here you go, honey. I'm about to fix mine."

A Korean lady who was in the same court room as the father-daughter duo gave her 150 yen. "You are a brave girl for standing up to your predator," she said. 

Hiro went to introduce himself to her. "I'm Hiro Amatisto-Arabaev and this is Alania, my adoptive daughter. I saw you in the courtroom." 

"Mr. Bjårnsen is a baaaaad man! And I'm Syuk Kyunh--I just moved here from South Korea. I have a dual citizenship between here and said birth country. I hope Nathan gets his just desserts!"

"Thanks for the money, Ms. Kyunh." Alania hugged her. "I wanna buy me an Anne Frank book, maybe some fried chicken and fries."

"There's a place that has good fried chicken, called Chicken-kuna. Wanna eat there?" Hiro asked.

"Yes, sir," she nodded.

"Now, it's time for the victim impact statement," Judge Shinichiro announced.

Alania stood up. "You took my innocense away, doing stuff to me that I didn't like, and offering me gummy bears just so I'd keep quiet. I get nightmares from time to time, and I can't go in public bathrooms alone. Even though I may never get over being molested, I forgive you..." She sat down.

Hiro shot up and read his. "You made my daughte uncomfortable. She forgave you, but it'll be a while before I follow suit. Laugh all you want, but YOU WILL be somebody's sex slave, and that smile will be tears. I wish Judge Shinichiro would say, 'There he is--do what you want.' I. Would. Kill. You."

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" the stocky big wig asked the jury.

A guy in casual wear answered, "We have, your honour. We hearby find Nathan Bjårnsen guilty of child molestation."

"Send him down the river!" Judge Horrace banged his gavel as the bailiff cuffed him and took him away. 

"You can hold your head up high," Hiro said unto his adoptive daughter. "Now, let's go get our fried chicken."
