Her father was taken aback. "Bruh, where'd you get those words from?" He raised his right eyebrow. "Lemme guess: you were hanging with those teens at the orphanage?"

"Pretty much." His blonde daughter picked up her Eevee plush off the minivan floor. "They didn't hold back when conversing with me. Least I didn't pick up any curse words; that's gotta count for something."

"True. What do you say we get a snack to tide you over till dinner?" Hiro stopped at 7-Eleven right next to Zarid's rental Suzuki. "Ah, come on... Zarid's here?! Let's just get a snack and drink, and leave."

He and his girl walked in. Zarid decided to poke fun at her. "How'd that molestation feel?! Knowing you, you probably liked it." Zarid and his team laughed at Alania, who started crying. Pissed, Hiro pushed the ringleader, Zarid, down on the tile floor, and he axe kicked him. "You can say what you want about me, but you leave my daughter outta this, you asshole!"

Zarid got up and dusted himself off. "I'm sooo going to the death tomorrow. Your daughter's gonna need a new adoptive father when I'm done with you!" He and his cornermen left.

Hiro hugged his daughter; she stopped crying and sniffled a little. "Something's wrong with that guy. Also, I'm sorry for cursing around you; I was in the heat of the moment."

"I understand. If I knew these swears, I'd curse him as well." She grabbed a SPAM-and-mayo rice ball and a Coca-Cola; Hiro picked up a SPAM-and-cheese rice ball and the same drink as her daughter.

The cashier, a malnourished-looking, Indian woman named Shilpa, checked the items out. "That Zarid guy is a piece of crap! He was wrong for making your daughter cry."

Hiro paid for the onigiri and fizzy drinks. "Someone needs to put him in his place; tomorrow, that someone's gonna be me. See you later."

"Later!" Shilpa replied as the father-daughter duo went to the purple automobile.
