The girl and The rock

11. A Strange Feeling

11. A Strange Feeling

Nov 24, 2025

After stopping by the rock stool, Palma and Paul set off to catch up with Graham and Yona.

"Why did you pick that rock?" Paul asked.

It had gotten pretty crowded now that it was evening. Paul held Palma's hand tightly.

"What do you mean?" Palma said.

"The were so many pretty rocks there, yet you picked the dull one. Do you have a hobby on collecting dull things?" Paul explained.

Palma looked up at him. She was speechless.

"I don't have a hobby like that." She replied. She felt slightly annoyed by Paul's remark.

"Then why?" He asked again.

Palma stayed quiet. She looked down at the dull grey rock in her palm.

"I just... have a strange feeling about it..." She mumbled.

"What was you saying, Little Miss?" Paul asked. They arrived back to the carriage.

"Nothing." Palma replied. She forced a smile.

Graham and Yona were standing by the carriage waiting for Palma and Paul to arrive.

"There you are, Palma. I thought you might have gotten lost." Graham said. He reached out his arms so he could pick her up.

"Nonsense. How could i get lost when i was with the guide, Father?" Palma said. She quickly dodged his arms and ran over to Yona's side.

"Ehhh..." Graham whimpered.

"Did you have fun, Palma?" Yona asked. She picked Palma up and held her in her arms.

"Yes! It was great fun!" Palma replied. She smiled happily.

"Huh? What have you got there, Palma?" Yona asked. She noticed the grey rock in her right hand.

Palma opened her hand to show the pocket-sized rock.

"I got it from a stool selling unique rocks." Palma replied.

Yona placed Palma back on the ground.

"A stool selling rocks?" Yona said. She looked a little confused.

Graham thanked Paul for escorting them around the market and signed a small piece of paper with his name.

"Right. We should get going." Graham said. He helped Palma and Yona get in the carriage.

Yona, Graham and Palma arrived back home after travelling for another three days.
