Will you be my next muse? Barney asked in a gentle sweet tone as he gently caressed the cheek of the brunette as he eyed her looking at her revealing red dress that barely hid her curves.
The brunette in question stared at him surprised before quickly saying yes. She knew that Barney had been a famous artist known for his realistic sculptures and compelling artwork, each one being more extraordinary than the last. To think she would meet this famous artist in a common bar was a surprise in itself.
Fantastic I am so happy you agreed to this; after I finished my previous muse’s portrait I felt like life was black and white, unable to be inspired to make anything new. I saw you walking across the street with your umbrella, a face I knew that would bring color back into my work. Barney grinned as he quickly wrote down his art studio's address before giving it to her.
You can come by tomorrow. I'll be there just please don’t give out this address for privacy reasons. I don't want to move my studio as it can be really hard to find a good location without the paparazzi seeing. Barney chuckled exasperated as he thought of the previous experiences he had with his fans.
I won’t I promise.
I appreciate that. My name as you know is Barney.
I’m Luna.
That is a lovely name Luna. I have the perfect idea on what to make. I know you'll love it when you see it.
As Barney left he couldn’t help but smile wider. As he got into his car he drove off to a store to buy a couple of items and a premade sandwich and later pulled into his art studio to prepare for the day that was to come.
He cleaned the floors and wiped down his brushes and later pulled out his clay to work on the new sculpture project he envisioned. He drew open the curtains and closed curtains in other areas not wanting to show his other unfinished projects to Luna.
As the studio was cleaned and ready and the door was locked he decided to take a quick nap before Luna arrived as he wanted everything to be perfect for his new muse.
Barney awoke to the light sounds of knocking feeling excited he sprung up ready for this moment and rushed to open the door and welcome Luna into his studio. Luna was dressed in an even shorter dress than before that pronounced her curves that looked like she used padding to add to the appeal. From Barney’s previous experience he had quite a few of his previous muse’s do the same and often asked to be drawn in a more curvy way not understanding he felt more inspired by their true beauty not enhancements.
Barney guided Luna to the section that they would be working in while having the other sections closed off.
Luna getting curious looking around couldn’t help but ask to peek at his other works in which he replied he didn’t want them to be seen yet as he wasn’t finished.
Luna before we begin, do you want anything to drink? I got wine, lemonade, soda, and water.
Could I get a glass of wine?
Sure, I'll be back in a minute.
As he left curiosity peaked Luna, who decided to peek at one of the closed curtains to see his other projects to reveal something that made her stomach drop and covered her mouth.
Tsk tsk, Luna I told you that my other projects weren't finished. It is unseemly and needs to be crafted into a new form.
You-you psycho what the hell-why did you do that.
I saw a flower instead of a weed that everyone else sees. I take that flower and craft it so it can be viewed by others who can finally see them like how I do.
That is sick, get away from me. Luna said in a horrified voice as she tried to run past screaming for help in which Barney grabbed her and roughly threw her to the ground.
You could’ve heard the vision I had for you of what you will become can’t you see I am making you into something You could never be by yourself. Just from looking at you anyone can see you wanted attention and hear I am trying to make your dream come true. You could’ve fallen into a sleep you wouldn’t wake up and in peace but understand you chose this way so don’t make your face ugly, even if you do I'll be able to fix it anyways.
P-please, I'm sorry, s-spare me. Luna said in a choke while Barney strangled her.
Shhh, this will all be over soon my dove. Barney said showing his gentle smile and eyes again but this time she could see the hint of insanity he had within them.
As Luna drew her last breath Barney had a new idea for the expression she’ll have instead of a happy expression she’ll have a serene look on her face he thought happily.
Barney got up and grabbed the items he bought at the store and started building the crescent shaped moon he had thought of hearing Luna's name, grabbed her body and tied it to the metal moon he made where it made her look as if she was sitting on the moon while leaning her head on the moon in a sleep like serene look.
He pulled out the clay and started slowly adding each part giving it time to look smooth and dry evenly without cracking. Finally after days went by he was done with his perfect sculpture named Luna.
As he got ready for this project he couldn't help but look back to one of his previous projects finally figuring out what to do with Velma’s body as he took Velma's skull and worked on carving and shaping more clay into a star shaped decorative bowl. After which he decided to make a painting as well with these two women as the star and the moon to go along with these newfound inspiring pieces naming this new group Velma’s starry night with the moon.
Finishing this project he called for movers to take this to the art museum to start auctioning off his master piece. As the art critics fell in love with his latest creations they couldn’t help but ask what was his inspiration?
Well as you guy’s know I couldn’t figure out what to make for over a year until I met my latest muse. Her name was Luna and I couldn’t help but see a hidden gem in her that I wanted others to be able to see. When I met her and found out her name I couldn’t help but think, wouldn't it be beautiful to make a dream like beauty; bringing the fondness of our youth. How it used to be so much more blissful when we were younger with not much worries but beautiful dreams we had. I created each piece inspired by this thought in mind knowing Luna will always be a part of this project along with this other lady I met that had a lot of ambitious dreams and finally I could put her in a piece finally. These two women really complimented each other well and I am so proud that I can show you this genre as Velma's starry night with the moon. It’s a toast to our dreams, our ambitions and the serenity we had in our youth.
Barney, have you thought of what you’ll be creating next?
Unfortunately nothing has come into my mind as of yet. I will have to search for new inspiration that will help me on my next project.
I can’t wait to see what is next. Mutters can be heard in the group who were eager to bid on this auction.
As he watched his pieces sold individually 1.5 million for the sculpture 300 thousand for the painting and 15 thousand for the vase. His inspiration-his work won't be with him anymore. Feeling depressed he started thinking about what he could do for his next expedition but felt dejected about not coming up with anything.
