The Narrator
Gods…are indeed flawed… I just stood there as that damn brat blew up his own planet… and that girl… I could have stopped her but… I let her destroy the gem… Now I have to find another world just to try my damn goal again… Oh? You came back to read more, hm? I knew you would, reader… I’m sure you are wondering what I was talking about, hm? Let me let you in on a simple secret… My goal… If you want to call it that… Those gems I keep putting on different planets. I do not do that just because its…fun… I do it to bring someone back… She was there with me when the universe created itself… The atoms split so fast and hard that we were the two first being to exist… My role was to simply oversee time… To make sure it kept on moving forward… and her role…was to make sure that the universe would keep on expanding. She held the title of Outer God of Infinity after all…
Hm? Oh… I see. You are probably wondering why I keep talking of her in the past tense, hm? Of course… She died. However… Even tho Im supposed to be all-seeing… I cannot see what caused her death. All I remember is the exact moment it happened… We were both watching over the universe… Me…Time and her, the expansion…
All of a sudden… Space itself seemed to contort in a weird shape… and then a beam of light pierced right through her… She died instantly… But what do those gems have to do with her death? Im sure that’s what you are asking yourself currently… The gems are her pieces of her infinite corpse.
Oh? Was that surprise that I heard reader?… I cannot truly blame you… It’s not like I truly explained what they were in my previous book… Pfft… Whatever… You probably understand now why I send those gems down, hm? I want to bring her back… But I cannot interfere… I have to let fate do its thing. I can only… What do you humans call it again… Right… Hope.
Out of all the previous people i have recorded as i tried to bring her back… Clive Kushin was the closest to bringing her back… However… As I look in all possible futures… None of them where he completely becomes her… He always dies before he can do it… I would thank Ellis and Rowan for creating him…well…if I were human.
Ashcroft was also something… A brat blinded by a false sense of justice… He believed until the end that he had done the right thing… Perhaps he did… Who am I to say otherwise?
Maeve Ardenfall surprised me the most… Out of all possible timelines that i was able to see of her… Every last one of them ended the same. All versions of Maeve ended up catching a sight of me when the prime gem glitched between two timelines…
I could bring all of those three back to life… But I would have to merge quite a lot of timeline together… Which is not something I intend to do. Well…at least I don’t think so. I am not able to see my future; that is the limitation of my all-seeing power.
Hm… Oh…? Is that life I feel on that planet over there… I see they are still in their medieval age… Fun… It’s been a while since I’ve watched a planet that is still stuck in that era. I’ll just watch to see if this world is worth even dropping a gem…
