CHAOTIC WORLD: The raid of sins

Where the hell did this chronicle come from?

[Black sword]: When it was first made,it was silver, just like any other blade. But it was deemed a failure and tossed aside, because despite the effort put into making it, not a single trait appeared. So it was tossed away,

Abandoned.

After three days, its blade didn’t rust, even after being left in the sun, rain and dust. Instead its blade turned black.

Its maker saw it, nothing had changed despite its colour, so he abandoned it again.

It was a failure that would never change.

But regardless, nothing could break it, that was it’s only use.

It existed  as a failure and always a failure.

Its creator finally gave it a name, the day he died, and when his best works were broken to bits.

He named it…

Black sword

[Enchantments]: [Dark steel]

[Dark steel]: Its ore and composition changed along with the blade, black and stronger than normal blades.

Rank: Awakened

Tier: I

Although its description had a very pitiful tune to it, he didn't feel anything. It made him remember how he still didn't understand how to feel emotions.

Thinking back, he still had no idea how he got it.

He only received one chronicle from killing the wailer, so where did this one come from?

a sudden memory flashed in his mind. He received a chronicle for killing the guardian of the gate but totally forgot about it.

Night's question was solved so he moved to the second chronicle.

[Lamenting edge]: A blade only meant to mourn the existence of life and death. It was not created nor did it come from legends and myths. It just appeared, when the vast lands were filled with tears, souls wandered and lamenting screams echoed.

Its steel was born to quell the wandering wills. But not all gifts are made to be cherished. It wasn’t a blade that set free, but bound more screams and echoes.

Its blade was meant to hold the lament of the forsaken and echoes of the mourners. Its edge will always exist to lament forever on.

Everything that knew it feared it, and its blade soaked up the corrupted fears of those who knew it.

Enchantments: [Will cutter], [Soul breaker]

[Will cutter]: All who get cut by this blade will lose the will to continue.

[Soul breaker]: Anything that dies by this blade will die forever.

Rank- Awakened

Tier- I

They were the same rank but it was clear which one was better. Yet.....

[Black Sword]

[Lamenting Edge]

Light swirled around his palm. A black short sword and a deep blue sword of the same length appeared in his palms. They were heavy. The lamenting edge was adorned and beautiful like a gem. While the black sword wasn't really adorned but was sharp and its black colour stood out.

But that just reminded him more and more how cruel the world truly is.

Each blade was sheathed.

Night felt satisfied. Then glanced at the runes with a curious look.

He got a reward for completing the task but other than the sword, he hadn't really gotten anything.

He searched on his runes until he found a section which looked the most out of place.

[Rewards]

[???]- Unclaimed

A set of runes appeared asking:

[Do you wish to claim]

Yes

Nothing happened other than the unclaimed reward vanishing. He searched for any change but all he saw was a new trait with no description.

It was really disappointing.

He looked again at his runes before dismissing them. Then glanced at the corpse. It was time to process it.

---

Night swung of blood from his palm. He successfully separated the skin from the flesh. The bones, fangs and scales, were also removed. Then he moved on to finding the soul core, he cut up the large flesh into five parts. Each contains a lot of meat. Then dug into the part closest to the core.

A slight luminous orb  covered in blood was dragged out of the flesh. Night smiled. Then I tried to absorb it.

But it didn't work. He squeezed it, and tried all sorts of means to absorb it but it didn't work.

Runes popped up saying;

[The trait ??? is reacting with the core]

[Do you wish to refine]

Thinking it was a way to absorb it, night said yes.

Flames surged out of his body and slowly entered the core. The luminous stone turned pitch black.

Night felt like something had drained out of him rather than entered him. The hex echoed in his ear, saying;

[ You have successfully refined a Twilight Core. ]

[You have created: [??? Shard]

[ Destructive effects will occur upon activation. ]

[ ??? Shard responds to the will of its creator. ]

[ Do you wish to use it? ]

Yes

Cracks appeared on the surface of the core. Without thinking, night threw it away from himself, with all his strength. The moment the core reached the highest point in the sky. It exploded, black flames surging out of it. The force blown, shot him and trees away. Everything the flames touched shattered.

In a blink of an eye, the trees surrounding the vine cave were almost entirely destroyed.

All this destruction was caused by a refined core. The hex's voice echoed once in his ear:

[You have slain Twilight ranked Beast, Drowned wailer]

[Absorbing residual energy]

[Your shadow becomes better defined]

He was shocked that one core was able to cause that much destruction, but he was a bit sad about  losing the core, but he would receive one back in return, right ?

---

Night check through the broken trees for the corpse, for the corpse but also gathered trees for a fire later.

Unfortunately, he didn't find the corpse, but he got to see a great view. As the sun went down the horizon, he felt strange. How would he survive in a corrupted world?

And if he would ever find any clue to his memories. But something kept him, assured, that he would find it in the end. And he  would survive through everything .

The world wasn't made chaotic, it was always us.
When the world's judgement came, destruction followed with it. And the being who passed judgement was the hex.
Humans are the most tenacious beings but also the most evil. Without even the judgement there was bound to be destruction. In the end, only the hex's judgement could truly change their fate.
People were ruined, new graves were filled every day. Tears dried up, hope was lost.
Regardless of the human's chaos their wrong doings didn't just bring judgement but the eyes of those watching from beyond.
Only the ruined souls could truly free them from those gazes and the chaos ahead.
