Hiro is in his Lexus with Alania in the back. 8:00 pm came. "You know, Uncle Ayumu isn't that bad; he's just misunderstood, maybe. Might need a wingman."
"I can be his wingman." He stopped at 7-Eleven and dug into his purple, leather billfold, taking out 300 yen. "Go get your snacks and drinks, and bring my change back."
"Yeah, but I need you to go with me--I don't wanna get groped again...or get made fun of for being molested...or... You get the picture." Alania sat there, the money in her hand and her Eevee plush and Skitty backpack on the SUV floor.
Hiro got out; he took his glock and hollowpoint bullets with him. "Really, all you have to do to these wackjobs is kick them in the balls."
"But what if it's a woman? Women molest children as well," Alania pointed out as the walked in; she put a tamago salad sandwich in a green-white-and-orange basket. "Oh, egg salad sandwich."
"Then punch her in the stomach." Hiro looked at a SPAM-and-cheese rice ball and put it in his basket. "I'll be up tonight, so I'll need a few late-night snacks. Maybe that Dandadan spicy-sweet red-slaw rice ball as well," he said to himself, putting one in the basket.
Alania saw some Red Bull in a fridge. "What does this taste like?" she asked.
"Oh no, you're too young for that." Hiro grabbed her hand. "I see a Dandadan cupcake," he pointed out, showing it to her and putting it in the basket. "It's vanilla with red frosting."
Alania put one in in hers. "Now, something with some meat."
Her father saw Ayumu as he put a spicy tuna roll in his basket. Hiro's daughter followed suit. She then hugged his unk. "You're not that bad, you know; you're just misunderstood."
Ayumu was confused. He then embraced his niece back. "Thought you didn't... Maybe I should be more lenient... You do have a sense of empathy. I was just so used to guarding my heart."
"You'll still have to protect your heart," Hiro pointed out, putting a chocolate croissant in his basket "like you always told me."
"True. I wanna do MMA on the side though; I'm a light heavyweight." Ayumu walked with his brother and niece whilst he put a soy sauce-and-cheddar burger in his cart. "You think I'd have an undefeated streak like you?"
"You might--you could smack a man up. Heck, I've seen you fight someone twice your size and win! in the same breath, you got kicked out the card shop. " Hiro put said beef sandwich in his carrying cart as well. He turned to Alania. "It's just soy sauce and cheddar cheese. You gotta be careful when warming it up though, honey; the bread can get hard."
"No mayonnaise?" She tilted her head then put her head back in normal position as she put one in her basket. "Eh, I could put some on it though."
Ayumu was always strict and always had an angry glare, but he does have a softer side. He just hid it by staying to himself because he didn't want to get taken advantage of or used. At the senior prom, he just stood on the wall and ate. He never wanted to date because he didn't want to get caught up in craziness like his younger sibling.
"I'm going to date night at Guang's this Thursday." Ayumu put a spicy egg salad sandwich in his basket. He wasn't like kids his age; he just read novels and comics, took fighting lessons, watched anime (but without fanservice), and he collected Pop! figurines and Pokémon cards. His favourite Pokémon is Mega Sableye.
Hiro and Alania walked out the store, bags of food and drinks in hand. His older sibling followed while he drank some of his milk soda. The father-daughter got in his Lexus; Ayumu was gonna walk, but Hiro invited him to ride in his car. Ayumu got in. "Thanks for the ride." "Anything for my brother," Hiro replied.
Ayumu said, "I took driver's ed; I just need to get a car or something. I have the money. I want a truck though."
Hiro said, "If you need me to pick you up and take you to the dealership, I can. Just need to ask my boss."
"Okay. Also, how long is your suspension again?" Ayumu asked. "I didn't watch the post-fight press conference.
"Till January." Hiro drove through the neighbourhood to hi brother's pricey apartment. "How do you pay for this apartment?! You might need me to help you with your truck."
"Yeah, I might." Ayumu grabbed his bags. "Thanks again for driving me here, bro."
Hiro replied, "Welkomen." He drove off. "Now, I can go wait for Toonami to come on."
