Chapter 3 New King PART 2

Chapter 3 New King PART 2

Dec 02, 2025

Opening his eyes, Jay saw only the darkness of the night. He stood up and stretched. He looked around and didn’t see his father.
He sighed. “I’ll go look for him… maybe I can distract myself a little.” He thought, a bit frustrated.

Walking through the ship, he ended up finding a girl crying in a corner. Feeling pity, Jay decided to help her.

“What happened? Why are you crying?” Jay asked.

The girl stopped crying and looked at Jay. “I… I got lost from my mom.”

“Really?” She nodded. “Then let’s go look for her.”

“Okay…” she said with little enthusiasm.

So they went searching.

Opening his eyes, the King of the Wall stood up, hearing heavy breaths. He turned his head and saw Cobel lying on the ground.
Approaching the body of his enemy, he laughed.

“I was like you, boy. The emptiness consumed me… just like you. Y–you just don’t see it now, but in a few years you will.” He coughed blood.

The Nameless King raised his arm, even in pain, to finish him.

“I…” His eyes shone as he looked at the black sky. “I hope… that you have the same luck I had. To find my happiness… I hope y–you can…” Closing his eyes, he fell asleep forever.

The former King of the Wall simply turned away. Seeing that the battle was over, he walked through the forest. Even with blood running down his body and exhausted, he kept walking. His body was tired, but his mind was peaceful and light.

After some time, his daughter and her mother were searching for him, until they found him in that deplorable state.

“D-Dad?!” Seeing her father’s bloody body on the ground, she couldn’t believe that man was truly her father. She just couldn’t.

Clara approached and, seeing her husband’s body, collapsed and began crying. Their daughter couldn’t hold back her tears either.

After a long time, Jay found his father with a man who had black hair and blue eyes. The two looked like longtime friends, talking with a natural ease.

“Not even with my closest friends from my past life did I ever reach that level. Absurd.” Jay thought, amazed—and unlucky—for never having had a friendship like that.

Seeing her father, the girl immediately ran to him and hugged him while crying. Surprised, he quickly hugged his daughter back.

“What happened, daughter? What’s wrong? Weren’t you with your mother?” he asked, worried that something had happened to his wife.

“I got separated from Mom…”

“Then let’s go look for her,” he said with a smile, trying to calm his daughter.

“Yes, let’s go.” Looking at her father, she remembered the boy who helped her. She turned to Jay. “Thank you for helping me find my dad.”

Jay accepted her thanks, even though he was disappointed for not finding her mother—just her father. His own father approached soon after.

“You did well helping that girl. I’m proud of you, son. Congratulations,” Poul said, even though hours earlier he had been consumed by the desire for revenge. Maybe the fire of vengeance had cooled a little, especially after his conversation with that man.

“Dad,” Jay called for his father.

“Yes, Jay?!”

“Do academies exist in real life?” Jay asked, unsure of how to ask.

Poul placed his hand on his son’s head. “Yes, they do.”

Hearing that, Jay immediately became excited.

“But it’s not what you imagine. The academies that exist are actually factories to create soldiers—always searching for the perfect soldier.” Poul looked at the sky. “All men go to the academy. Of course I went there when I was a child.”

“So I would go to the academy no matter what. Interesting… so that’s how I’ll discover my true potential.” Jay thought, excited about going to the academy.

“And at what age can you enter the academy?”

“Well, at about ten years old you can enter.”

Hearing “about ten years old,” Jay became a bit discouraged.

Days passed until they arrived at their destination. They were placed in a refugee area. Jay usually went to the park, leaned against a tree, and read his book, while his father—who had enlisted to serve in the army—trained his body.

The children stared at Jay as if he were strange. A girl who had been playing with the group walked over to him. She approached and called his attention. Jay lifted his head and saw her purple hair, immediately recognizing her.

“It’s you, the lost girl,” Jay said, surprised.

She smiled.

“What? Don’t tell me you got lost again?!” Jay said, worried that she had interrupted his reading again.

“No! Do you really think I’d get lost twice?!”

“I wouldn’t doubt it.”

She made a face. “Idiot.” She got closer and crouched down to see what he was reading. “What are you reading, idiot?”

“Idiot? This girl wants to die? Calling me an idiot… if I weren’t known here, I’d hit her.” Jay thought, making a face.

The girl started laughing. Jay stared at her and flicked her forehead.

“Great, now she’s gonna run crying to her parents, and I’ll get scolded.” Jay thought, mildly regretting it, but not caring too much.

“Why did you do that to my beautiful forehead? You idiot!” she said with a teary expression.

“As expected, now she’ll go running to her dad. Most girls are like that. I might be in another world, but things are the same…” Jay thought, convinced.

But what he didn’t expect was that instead of going to her father, she pushed Jay and began hitting him.

Jay was shocked. Even though she was small, she was stronger than he had been in his past life. Even while getting beaten, he raised his hand and flicked her forehead again. She held her head, and Jay dropped his book and set the girl down.

They started arguing.

Meanwhile, Poul was training intensely. He was in a room when someone called him. Poul went toward the voice. Exiting the tent, he was handed a letter.

“Thank you for the letter.”

The messenger simply nodded.

Poul opened it. It was from the army, saying he was now officially a member. He was happy, but at the same time a strange feeling rose inside him. He couldn’t identify what it was.
A tear fell down his face.
