Principle of the Issue (Part 5)

Principle of the Issue (Part 5)

Dec 03, 2025

Forge, approached Ben and asked: “Wh-What the Uffern is this thing, anyway!?”

Ben said “No clue. We could try-”, before the Issue swung at them, again. Forge avoided it and punched it in the chin. But the monster shrugged it off and hit the Man in the Jacket, sending him to the ground.

“T-Tougher then I thoug'...” exclaimed Forge in surprise, as he got back up to face the creature.

Seeing this, Rob said “Don't you see? I told you he could help, I'm going too!!!”, as he did so.

“You know what? I don't care anymore... we're %$#@^# anyway...” Brigitte accepted as she slowly followed Rob.

Maroon approached Ben, saying “At least the foreigner is helping...”, just as Forge attacked the creature again, hitting it's neck. The Issue roared, not in pain, but in frustration. The angry creature then shot out more of the dark ooze at them.

“Can't we just cut those damn tendril-things already!?” asked Maroon as she dodged.

Hearing this, Forge shouted: “I-I'm goin' to cut-off thos'... anyon' help?”

“If you're gonna make it stop vomiting on us...” said Maroon as she approached him, alongside Ben and Rob.

Maroon quickly flew at the Issue and held onto one of it's tentacles, trying to keep it still. Due to it's injuries, the creature was significantly less agile than before, making this possible.

“DO THAT BLAST-THING YOU DO!!!” she shouted, prompting Forge to charge his attack again.

“We'll try the same, let's go!!!” said Rob, as he and Ben got ready.

Forge blasted the tentacle, severing it completely.

Maroon then threw the intestine appendage away, triumphantly saying “Two gone, two to go, HAHA!!!!” to her friends, who also held unto the intestinal tendrils.

The pained creature was confused, trying to attack them, but both of it's remaining tentacles were held upwards by a nikean.

“Come on!!!” said Rob, as he barely held unto it.

Forge blasted this one too, scoring another tentacle.

“I'm... slipping...” said Ben as he lost his grip, freeing the tentacle.

Suddenly, however, the tentacle was grabbed much more firmly by Brigitte, who shouted:
“Alright foreigner, do what you do, show your worth!!!”

Forge did so, severing the final tentacle.

“We did it!!!” shouted Maroon, relieved.

“Yeah, it's all but done now...” agreed Ben.

The Issue was now exhausted, bloody, beaten, missing all of it's tentacles and struggling to recover from it's injuries; yet it still hissed at them in defiance.

“This thing just won't give up.” said Rob.

The creature was suddenly pulled by something, from behind. It was Brigitte, grabbing it's tail and swinging the Issue, making it crash down the beggar slums.

The four officers followed, alongside Forge.

The creature got back up and, in desperation, tried to grab the fleeting beggars, before it was blasted by Forge again.

“H-Hey, I hav' another idea... c-can anyon'... open it's mouth?” asked the Man in the Jacket.

“What!? That's too dangerous...” asked Rob in confusion.

“You can count me out...” Maroon said, shaking her head.

Listening, the pink officer flew towards the injured creature's face. When it tried to devour her too, in that brief moment, she saw Maroon's sword, no longer stabbing it's palate, but still stuck in it's jaws.

Thinking quickly, Brigitte pulled out the sword, slashing the creature's mouth as she did, just before punching it's lower jaw hard enough to break it and send teeth flying.

The creature roared in pain and anger as it looked at the nikean, it's bloodied jaw now hanging loosely, more teeth falling off.

At that time, Forge, anticipating she'd do something, had charged bright golden energy from both his hands, aiming it directly at the Issue's head.

“Com'on... say 'A'...” Forge whispered.

Right then, Forge aimed straight at Brigitte, who was floating in front of it's broken jaw. Fully charged, he was about to shoot, but shouted: “MOVE!!!!!”

The Nikean-in-pink quickly moved away and Forge fired the golden ray directly into the Issue's open maw. A huge explosion was made, showering the area in yellow light and smoke, pieces flying all over.

Once the smoke cleared, the result could be seen. The creature's skull and neck were blown apart into bloody chunks, scattered everywhere. The rest of it's body simply dropped dead.

At long last, the Issue was resolved.

“HA!!! Take that, stupid thing...” said Maroon, relieved but also disgusted.

“We did it, for real!!!” said Ben, looking relieved.

A tired Rob noted: “He's powerful, didn't Brigitte beat him up by herself?”

“I really need to clean myself...” whined Maroon.

“All of us.” agreed Ben, to which Brigitte nodded.

After this, Forge sighed and said: “Al-Alrite then... go ahead an-and shoot that wrappin' thin' again...” Forge said, not resisting.

Rob and Maroon looked at each other in surprise, while Ben shot him with the Trapper-Wrap. Forge was returned to the jail cell in uncomfortable silence, passing by the local guards.

“Alright, having done this...” the Nikean-in-pink began, switching her attention to Rob, who gulped.

“Rob... do you know just how... big a problem you've gotten us in?” Brigitte said, staring at Rob with a stern face, sounding like she was about to shout at any moment.

“We needed the help!!!” Rob defended himself.

“Even if we did, you think the higher-ups care? You intentionally freed a convicted foreigner.” she responded.

Rob tried to respond: “...But he's back in his cell.”

“You've got no clue... we'll be lucky if they only fire us...” the pink officer continued, shaking her head.

“Maybe, we just... don't tell anyone?” suggested Maroon.

“The officers of this place already know, they watched us.” Ben explained.

“We're &%#$#@...” Maroon concluded, defeated.
