The base was buzzing with whispers. Soldiers moved differently now, quieter, more cautious, as if the air itself had changed ever since Levi tore his way out of the giant creature. No one understood it. No one had an explanation. All they had were shaky videos and terrified eye-witnesses.
People stared at him everywhere he walked. Some with awe. Many with fear.
Levi felt every single one of them.
As he walked down the steel corridor, he nearly bumped into Zeith. Purple lightning flickered gently across Zeith’s fingers as he leaned against the wall, expression unreadable. Levi slowed down.
“Are you afraid of me too?” Levi asked quietly.
Zeith studied him for a moment, then tilted his head.
“…Do I look afraid?”
Levi smiled. “Guess not.”
He walked on, but the moment of normalcy didn’t last long. Mary rushed up beside him, eyes widened in disbelief.
“What the hell was that, Levi?!” she demanded, grabbing his arm. “You were… you were insanely strong. You didn’t even look tired!”
Levi rubbed his neck awkwardly.
“Thanks… but I don’t know. It just happened.”
Mary studied him like he was something rare, dangerous, or maybe both. Then she sighed and walked beside him silently.
They didn’t make it ten steps before soldiers surrounded them—six, then ten, all armed, all tense.
“Levi Jeyser,” one ordered, “come with us.”
“What?” Levi frowned. “Why? What did I do?”
They didn’t answer. They grabbed him, forcing metal restraints around his wrists. Levi’s eyes widened.
“Hey—stop! What did I do?!”
One soldier stepped closer, his tone disturbingly excited.
“You were not able to access power like that before. Which means one thing… you may be the answer to every question we’ve had.”
Levi’s voice lowered.
“Let me go.”
Across the room, Cameron and Vanessa stood frozen in shock. Mary and Zeith rushed forward immediately, trying to tear the soldiers off Levi.
“HEY! Stop!” Mary yelled. “What are you doing?!”
Zeith grabbed one of the soldiers and shoved him back with enough force to crack the wall. Cameron finally snapped out of it and ran to help. Vanessa followed, shouting at the soldiers to stand down.
Chaos erupted.
Machines crashed.
Metal chairs flew.
Alarms blared.
Levi struggled, breathing harder as the restraints dug into his skin—
Then everything went silent.
A voice slid through the room like cold smoke.
“Yesssss… at last.”
Everyone froze.
A tall figure stepped from the shadows, wearing a long black coat. His eyes glowed faint gold, ancient and wrong. His presence made the air feel heavier, as if gravity itself bent around him.
“I have found,” he whispered, “the prime supernatural.”
Cameron moved to block Levi. Mary and Zeith stood ready to strike. Vanessa braced herself.
The figure only smiled.
A pulse of energy erupted from his body—bright, silent, instant.
Before anyone could react, Levi, Cameron, Mary, Zeith, and Vanessa vanished into thin air.
The soldiers collapsed.
The alarms died.
The lights flickered out.
The mysterious figure stood alone in the dark and whispered:
“Now… the true war begins.”
