A month passed.
A month of cold metal floors, Martian guards pacing the halls, and the constant hum of suppression fields draining their strength. A month without Levi, without a single clue whether he was alive or what the Martians were doing to him.
Escape had become a word they whispered, not planned.
Until today.
Das walked by their cells with his hands in his pockets, humming softly as if this were all routine. Cameron stepped forward and grabbed the bars.
“Das,” he said sharply. “Stop.”
Das paused and turned his head slightly, amusement flickering in his eyes.
“Yes, Cameron?”
“You said something before,” Cameron said. “You said we are all supernaturals. What did you mean?”
Das exhaled as if bored, then stepped closer, lowering his voice so the guards wouldn’t hear.
“I will give you a hint,” Das said. “There are classifications of supernaturals. Types.”
He raised a finger and wrote invisible letters in the air.
“V Supernaturals.
M Supernaturals.
A Supernaturals.
E Supernaturals.”
He tapped each one as he spoke.
“Listed from strongest… to weakest.”
The group exchanged stunned glances.
Das smirked. “Now that I’ve told you this… tell me what you think it means.”
And with that cryptic smile, he walked away.
Cameron scowled at his retreating figure. “This guy enjoys being annoying.”
Zeith leaned against the back wall of the cell, quiet, thinking deeply.
“…I think the M stands for Mars,” Zeith said.
They all turned to look at him.
“And E must be Earth,” he continued.
“That actually makes sense,” Vanessa said. “Earth supernaturals are the weakest because our abilities started the latest… or because we haven’t evolved as much.”
Cameron frowned. “Then what does V stand for? Venus?”
Mary nodded slightly. “Venus Supernaturals are probably the strongest… or at least, the oldest.”
“If V is Venus…” Vanessa said slowly, “…then A must be—”
“That’s the problem,” Mary interrupted, her voice calm but firm. “We don’t know. But one thing is clear.”
She stepped forward, looking at each of them through the dim red light of the cell.
“Those letters matter. Levi must be connected to one of them… maybe more.”
Cameron clenched his jaw. “And the Martians know it.”
Zeith looked up at the glowing suppression field holding them in.
“Whatever Levi is… he scared them enough to take him away.”
Mary crossed her arms, her expression determined.
“We need to get out of here,” she said. “We need answers. And we need Levi back.”
For the first time in weeks, they all felt it—
Hope.
A spark burning inside the Martian prison.
